"Your loss," she replied before disappearing into the kitchen, returning a minute or so later sipping from a glass of clear liquid.
Casually, she leaned against the door frame while she was drinking, fixing her eyes on the sketchbooks still strewn across the coffee table. Flashbacks of the dream during the transformation played through her mind. "I have a pretty good guess of what..." She trailed off, closing her eyes before tilting back the rest of the glass and downing the rest of the vodka. The glass was set onto the kitchen counter.
It was a long silence before Antony finally finished the sentence, admitting to herself as well as Rex what she was turning into. "An albino squirrel," she sighed, running a hand over her face before glancing back up at the man laying on her couch. "I hate squirrels. They're all ******** over D.C.," she grumbled while making her way back towards the couch.
Instead of returning to her seat, Antony moved a pile of sketchbooks aside and sat on the coffee table in front of Rex instead.

Rex had thought alot about all of the different animals that you could be, but surprisingly a squirrel hadn't crossed his mind. "An albino multi-tailed squirrel? Wow, that's unique." His eyes widened and mind raced. He could just picture her scampering all over the island, grabbing the nearest cocomut and burying it somewhere. The mental image caused a smile to creep across his face just as she sat down in front of him. That only caused the smile to grow even larger.
He leaned forward, making it seem like he was more intact with the girl and the conversation, "You're from D.C.? I've never been there." He hoped she'd take talking about home better than she had back on the beach. No need to anger in a time like this.

Antony's mood was uplifted when he moved closer, and she instinctively leaned closer to him. Nothing like a little male attention to perk Antony up.
"Maryland actually, but D.C.'s just a metro ride away," she explained, watching him intently, "Where are you from?" Not that she really wanted to talk right now, but the slight haze she was feeling from the alcohol made it a okay.

Rex's eyes glanced down for a split second then glanced back up. An idiot could see that she was trying to get something, offering and drinking some alchohol, he began to suspect if the lingerie was merely a coincidence. "California f'me. Well.. I grew up there 'till high school, then went to boarding school on the east coast. Dad spent all of his funds to send me away. They were so loving." he said sarcastically, he hadn't spoken about his parents in quite a long time...
"But then I moved back to San Frincisco and've been living there ever since..." he trailed off on the end, unsure if this was the best time to mention Julie.

The lingerie was, in fact, a coincidence, but that didn't mean Antony wasn't after something other than platonic company.
"Least you had two... Never knew my mother," she began, not really knowing why she was was telling Rex this, but it was probably the alcohol buzz she was currently feeling. "My father's the only family I have..." The woman trailed off and closed her eyes, obviously trying to hide the fact that this upset her from Rex.
Antony hated pity.
But she couldn't help but constantly worry about her father now-a-days. She knew he'd be worried, and Antony couldn't bear not knowing how he was doing.
The image of his lifeless body still haunted her nightly.

Rex was a pretty honest guy, he didn't see the need to keep this information pent up. "Well, both of my parents did drugs... alot... like, I have memories of shady characters comin' into our house all the time. They'd ask me to leave them alone, and I obeyed since I didn't know any better to tell them to stop," Rex knew that Antony was a smoker, especially after that ordeal in the cafeteria, but he had yet to find out she also did marijuana. "Anyway, my ma died of lung cancer when I was pretty young, but old enough to understand the tragedy. That rattled my father, he sent me off to school and went to rehab. I haven't spoken with him ever since."
Not many people would expect Rex to have such an awful childhood. Maybe a happy, middle class, normal childhood. Thankfully he'd turned out all right and not messed up in the head.
He shrugged, the topic of his parents was touchy, but he didn't mind talking about it. He was still angry at his parents, even though one was dead and another just a good.

"My mom died too," Antony said abruptly when he was finished, but it was probably more expected for her to have bad things in her past than for someone like Rex. Stereotypes happened like that. "Giving birth to me."
Pausing for a moment, Antony shrugged somewhat, figuring if he judged her based on smoking pot, she could get bitchy and call him out on it. "I do smoke pot, but nothing hard... I've seen people OD, and it's not anything I want to have happen to me... Ever."
She gave him a look that basically dared him to judge her so she could retaliate.

Honestly, Rex wasn't surprised by this new bit of information. The thing that did surprise him was the present tense quality of the sentence. "You do smoke pot? I don't have a problem with smoking or anything, it's you descision. I simply know that I'm not a smoker and don't plan on picking it up. But how do you get marijuana out here? We're basically isolated from any sources I can think of..."

"Moreau gave Jamal a big bag for Christmas, and he gave me a cheer up baggy," she gave him a nonchalant look before continuing, "Anyways, it really helped calm me down after transforming..." Trailing off, Antony sighed deeply and pushed more flashbacks back and out of her mind.
"Pot can be used for medicinal purposes. I mean, there are so many different strains of it... Not that I'm trying to sell you on it, just saying... Depends on the smoker..."

"Well the least he can do is make you happy while he changes you into an animal," He didn't add in 'against your will', as Rex was secretly looking forward to the changes, though he knew it was a terrible though.
Rex knew about the plant's medicinal uses as it had been pointed out to him by the druggy kids at his school several times, pressuring him to try it. Though Rex didn't budge, he'd seen what excessive use of it could do.

Antony narrowed her eyes, "You make it sound like Jamal and I are an item." It was clear that it wasn't the case, and Antony wasn't exactly happy that Rex had made it seem like it were the case.
Antony sighed. Well, there went that good mood.

"Wha-?" Rex fumbled, Where the HECK did that come from? Women..., he tried to recover from the mistake he hadn't made. "What are you talking about? I didn't say anything about Jamal. I've never met him let alone seen you two together! How could I have an opinoin about you two with such little information? All that I know is you two are friends and he was at your camp." Rex began to get defensive, not needing anyone disappointed in him. He sighed as well, "I was referring to Doctor Moreau giving is experiements what they want in order to keep them happy. That's a smart move becasue it seems tension here is high and it wouldn't take a whole lot to start a revolt." He finished, trying to make up for the misunderstanding.
Rex leaned back into the comfort of the couch, irked about her jump to a conclusion.

"You said 'he' and Jamal was the last male other than you that we talked about, so I immediately linked the two," Antony stated, raising an eyebrow at how he suddenly got defensive about the whole thing. "But now that you mention it, Moreau does make more sense... Sorry."
Reaching out, the tattooed woman shifted closer, reaching out to pat his leg in an apologetic way.

"Sorry, I guess that was a bit confusing. I just don't want you to think that I was thinking that..." he stated, smiley minutely when she patted his legs.
Rex's stomach gave a long and loud gurgle, he'd skipped dinner and was heading to breakfast when he'd gotten caught up here. "Oh, hello down there." He said jokingly to his belly, then leaned forward into Antony. His blue gaze trailed from the floor up and came to a pause on her middrift when he said, "I'm getting hungry and breakfast sounds miiighty fine."
The mood had been ruined, anyway.

"I ate earlier," she mentioned, "And my pants are in the dryer. Not that I would care about going like this, but..." She simply trailed off, shrugging her shoulders and motioning for him to leave, suddenly feeling entirely unattractive. God damn fur and tails...
It seemed that she was losing her touch.
