One minute he was enjoying the cancer stick in his mouth, the next he realized it was snatched away and Koyuki was taking a puff herself. Jerome's face melted to horror knowing full well that she may become addicted to that one terrible puff. He took one of her paws to make sure she didn't fall over or anything before taking the cigarette back. "I warned you" he said in a serious tone. "Now we will have to see if you become addicted to it." he said waiting for her to gather her bearings

Licking her lips a little as she rubbed her sore chest from the sudden coughing, the vixen made a sour face and shook her head. Disgusting....she could smell it, taste it....it felt like she became immediately dirty. Sliding a glance to the cigarette now back in Jerome's hand, her body gave a shudder.

"That is disgusting! How can you even do it? I feel horrible!" Certianly she did not feel that good feeling he'd spoken about, and composing herself she felt a little ill as well. She seemed to think about his words for a moment, before once more giving a sickening shudder and continued to walk ahead.

"If I become addicted to that, put me out of my misery....i'd hope you'd have a good shot." She continued to try and get the taste out of her mouth to little avail, semi serious about him shooting her. The last thing she'd want was to want to actually smoke one of them!

Jerome chuckled a bit. "Well it's something you have to get used to..but it's either this, drinking, or severe sexual encounters...SO I chose this. And trust me. there is something worse than this...But 'Chew' Is something I want to keep away from you. You think this tastes bad? Try putting 3 of these straight into your mouth" He said with a semi serious, but joking tone. He knew she wouldn't try it.

"Now. Shall we keep walking?" He said as he turned back towards the snow covered path they were on. He took a few steps and noticed something was different. He looked down and saw peculiar tracks. He examined the two clawed tracks with his hand and suddenly his eyes widened. "********. There must be one nearby" He said as he stood up and drew his gun from the holster.

"S-Sexual w-w-what!?" The vixen blushed furiously, her face as fed as a cherry just hearing it as she tried to listen to the rest of what he'd said but seemed to be utterly stuck on that one thought. Shaking her head to rid her thoughts her pace quickened just a bit, if to allow the little wind she generated walking to cool down her face. Yes...breathe....one had to love that fresh air.

"Of course...." She smiled back to him and continued her pace, only to stop when she'd realized he'd stopped a a dozen meters behind. "Jerome what is it....?" Koyuki called back, before she noticed the gun come out of its holster....and realized something bad was a foot since he didn't take that gun out for just anything. Should she call out? Make her way back to him? Koyuki felt conflicted as she stood still, her heart racing. What could possibly be out here that would have a Spartan concerned?

Jerome eyes darted around searching for anything out of the ordinary. A shimmer of light that shouldn't be there. Anything that would at least let him rest at ease that at least he had found the Elite. He didn't think to look behind him.

Cloaked and almost silent in his breathing, the large Elite stood behind Jerome, but having no interest in the Spartan himself, but rather his company. He had been following the two for several days, but still his mind could not completely grasp what the female was. She looked like an ordinary fox, but her face looked often..unnaturally white. Her demeanor was further more perplexing. Was she perhaps half Sangheili? Only the females of his kind would act with such grace and dignity.

Although he was invisible, his cloaking was still rudementary. Light would reflect off of him, making him appear mostly invisible, but not completely. If one looked hard enough, he could still be seen

Now she was freaking out, Jerome hadn't said a word and figured danger was immediate...she could feel her fur on the back of her neck stand on end; her heart pound loudly against her chest. Immediately she found herself slowly and gracefully walking back using her same footprints to mask the sound of compacting any more snow. Ears twitched at any and every sound...but she wasn't quite prepared for what was about to happen next.

Only a few meters from where her companion stood, something told her to stop; perhaps it was intuition or a blessing in disguise, but Koyuki after the incident with her attacker decided to listen to when her gut told her something. Her eyes fell back on Jerome when she ended up seeing it, a glitter that seemed to be in mid air, and upon looking down, shifted snow that was not part of either of their tracks.

Oh god.

Her tail began to tremble, as she suddenly became very aware how big this thing behind Jerome was....She tried to make eye contact with the spartan but he'd been looking off to the side. She had to act, "Jerome! Behind you!!!!" Koyuki yelled, pointing to the nearly invisible mass behind him.

The Sangheili eyed the female. She was up to something. Did she know where he was? His question was answered for him, when she shouted to her companion. Immediatly he sighed and revealed himself. There was no point in running as the snow would give him away.

Jerome was about to look over to Koyuki, when she had shouted out a warning. The Spartan whirled and took three shots with his pistol, hitting the super large elite in the side as it was appearing. He watched as the sheild of the beast failed and then shot again at the creatures exposed side, knowing well the bullet would hit the flesh. He watched the Elite topple over gripping his side and beckoned Koyuki to him. "Good Eye" he managed to say with heavy breathing. Killing Elites certainly brought him back to the good old days. Little did he know that the UNSC and the monsterous creatures were allies.

Arbiter felt the sting of a bullet piece his side. He crippled to the ground and put his armored hand over the wound. "You shot me? Well.." he took a moment to wince. "I guess that's what I deserve for spying" the Sangeheili said.

Yelping in fear as she covered her ears to the loud shots, the vixen winced before cracking open her eyes again and looking over...a little relieved to see Jerome still standing and the creature doubled over from his wound. At first she gave him a look as if he'd grown another head, why the heck would she want to come closer to such a thing...but then had a horrifying thought that there could be other unseen aliens out there and in a few fluid bounds had clutched herself partially behind the spartan as her paws gripped his suit; just enough of her shown to peek her head around to see the Arbiter.

Immediately she felt awful for....whatever it was, and it showed on her face...but she wasn't about to put herself in a nother situation of fighting for her life. "You...You've been spying?"

"Of course. You are a very peculiar subject here. Especially to be in company with such a gung ho Spartan." he said shooting a glare at Jerome.

"What? Spying? Why?" he said as he cautiously bent down to the Elite's level. He knew full well that the thing could reach out with one of his long arms and kill him in an instant, so he was careful to be vigliant for movement. "And why did you not attack? Your kind is notorious for killing UNSC soliders!" he growled

"Curiousity killed the cat, Demon" He spat spitefully. He was not all to happy that the Spartan was treating him like the enemy when it was clear there was no need for conflict. But when the unarmoed Spartan spoke further, is face twisted from anger, to a perplexed one. "Do you not know? Your kind has settled it's qualms with mine....for now" he said with a hint of threatening malice.

What was going on here? Confused as ever, Koyuki slowly let go as Jerome knelt to speak with the elite, which left the vixen to think and try and process what had just gone on here.

Why was it that suddenly the cosmos had decided she was interesting, or whatever they wanted to call it that suddenly her life had took an 180. Her gaze dropped to Jerome...did this alien know as well about the little no fraternization rule...or was there something else she was missing?

However, she seemed to pale more when the Arbiter made it clear as day he was no enemy. Guilt washed over the vixen as she bit her lip, essentially giving Jerome the ability to shoot him....it made sense if he'd been spying he had no intentions to kill them yet at least. She eyed the wound in his side and looked at her own gunshot wound, and decided. Unwrapping the gauze from her wound in the many layers the medics had put on, she was left with the waterproof bandage underneith. Walking around Jerome to kneel before the Arbiter...perhaps she was losing her mind again...but she just couldn't in her right mind not do anything.

"D....do you, or would you like me to treat that...? I don't think we...knew." Obviously she didn't, but tossing a glance back at Jerome, she was sure he was as confused as she.

The Elite eyed the female with curious yellow eyes as she examined him. Was she curious about him the same way he was with her. He didn't know, but he did know she was concerned with his well being. Although flattered, he had to refuse. "No. It is forbidden. Even if I am an outcast." He said as his usual stern look returned.

" At...peace?....But...it feels as if it was a month ago I was fighting your kind..unless I was in cryo a lot longer than I was told" Jerome said as he searched the ground for answers. He shook his head and decided now was not the time. There was still a question he didn't have answered. "Why were you spying on us?"

The elite looked up at the Spartan as he was obviously confused. He was caught off guard when a question was repeated. " Like I said. Curiousity killed the cat. Your female companion is most unusual." The elite snaked his head back over to the vixen in front of him. "Tell me. Are you by chance, Sangheili?"

Whomever he was he was very intent to keep a studying eye on her, which made her a bit nervous as well as curious at the same time. It clued into her that he was definately an alien, if Jerome had encountered him and fought with his species? She about to speak in protest...but kept quiet as Jerome once again piped up, confusion deep in his voice.

Holding the gauze in her paws, she decided to keep it handy just incase while she listened to the two talk; her level of understaning was limited at best.

Yet it seemed she would have little time to dwell as she once found herself face to face with Arbiter. "Me....a San...gheelee?" It was hard to pronounce, as the vixen thought hard through both languages databanks and came to the conclusion she'd never heard of the word, or race, whatever it might be. "I don't think so...I am a Maiko. Yet I am just...me."

Tossing a glance over her shoulder to Jerome in concern, she found herself looking back to Arbiter. "Why...do I look like one?" Unusual...he should talk! If Koyuki wasn't intimidated by the sheer size of the brute she would have been offended since she felt the most norm out of the three. She'd felt small compared to Jerome's stature, but now with Arbiter as well she just felt puny.

The Elite stood to the best of his power. Purple blood dripped from the wound, which was slowly clotting over, but at the time, he didn't care. His curiosity overwhelmed the pain. He paced around the very small fox and scrutinized every detail. She didn't look Sangeheili, but why did she act like it then?

Jerome felt very out of place. Here he was in front a very unusual Elite. One that seemed oddly familiar. He watched as the massive beast struggled to his feet and started to circle Koyuki. He wanted to intervene, but if the creature could pick himself up even with a gunshot wound, then who knows what he could do if he pissed the thing off. "What...are you doing?" he finally asked

Arbiter ignored Jerome's question. He could care less about the annoying Spartan. He knew what he was and therefore he had no interest anyway. Still examining the small female he finally spoke. "You are not physically Sangheili. But still you confound me because you act like one."

As the Arbiter rose, Koyuki felt incredibly weary and rose to her own feet so she wasn't so tiny kneeling. Her tail twitched nervously under his scrutinizing gaze, she almost believed he'd be able to read her thoughts but it seemed he hadn't been able to or surely he would have said something about her fears. His circling did nothing to help her current emotional state; and wished Jerome would get her out of this predator/prey like scene...even if Arbiter said they were at peace...Koyuki just didn't like taking chances.

Yet she realized he was limited on his options too, without his armor and the utter strength of this brute; she was afraid the battle would be heavily one sided. Thus, she stood as strong as she could with a brave face; even though it was merely a mask and if one looked close enough they'd see she was trembling.

"I am afraid I am not....aware of how these Sangheili act....I am simply educated and taught on the utmost of manners and conversational skills..." Although she had to admit, if this race of Sangheili were as he said, she'd probably not mind so much to be one.

The Sangheili kneeled in front of Koyuki and lightened up his gaze, knowing full well she was fearful. "Curious. I was not aware that other species were capable of such grace and dignity" he said softly, trying not to let his naturally loud voice overcome the much smaller fox

"Are we done here? I mean....I..still don't like your kind..especially with what you did to a previous sargeant of mine" he said with a snort and a sudden scowl in his face. Now knowing that the beast was not intending to harm Koyuki, he stepped in between them and pushed the elite aside. Even if that did piss him off, The spartan still had speed on his side.

The Arbiter snorted and clicked his mandibles. A form of body language that to him meant he shrugged the Spartan off. "Whatever you wish Demon. But be warned. I may be the only kind Elite you encounter anymore" He said with a foreboding voice as he plopped back down on the ground, clutching at his side which was still in great pain
