"She damn near tried," Rory said, frowning, "but, nae, I still remain not haen been seen skyclad by any woman outside o' me family. She saw me shirtless an' then I tol' her t' leave." He stroked Lee's cheek gently, sighing. "I donnae want any other t' see me before you anyway."

Lee looked up at him, an amused smile on her lips but adoration showing clearly in her eyes. "Wouldn't be fair... We might have to hurry up on that, though, if I'm gonna beat her to it." She teased him, even though her own cheeks were the ones blushing, and she made up for her embarrassment by kissing him gently. "When were you supposed to be at your parents'?"

"They're expectin' me--well, us--in a few minutes," Rory said, checking his pocket watch and definitely not wanting to continue talking about being naked with the girl. He held his hand out to her. "Come, lass, w'll get there on time if w' leave now. Think o' this dinner as a crash course in what it means t' be didikai."

"O-oh, alright..." Looking down, she decided what she was wearing would have to do, looking behind her to make sure she wasn't forgetting anything before she left, and took Rory's hand, heading out the door. Breathing deeply, Lee's previous worries were running through her head, but she'd try her best not to sound as clueless as she was.

Rory slipped the stolen necklace from his pocket and took Lee's hand in his, placing the jewelery there. "Thought you might want t' wear it tonight." He smiled at her. "Donnae be so nervous. They're just me parents an' th' wee sisters."

Lee smiled brightly back at him, still slightly amused by how he'd managed to get his hands on the necklace. Biting her lip as she unlatched it and pulled it around her neck, she looked over to Rory and tilted her head. "Think you could help?" Not that she couldn't get it on herself, but she seemed to enjoy the feeling of his fingers dancing behind her neck -- at least she had when they were on the trolley. "How old are your sisters?" For some reason, she'd never given it a thought before just now, but she may end up dealing with small children...

Rory obliged in helping her with the necklace, wanting to feel the soft skin of Lee's neck. "Well, me oldest sister you know th' age o', an' me younger sisters are thirteen and eight. Mum's thinkin' o' tryin' fae another baby. I think they'd like another boy afore she's too old." He nodded to a mobile home they were approaching. "There's their home."

"Eight? Wow..." That wasn't so bad, but the girl was still pretty young. She wondered if Rory enjoyed being an older brother, and was a bit excited to get to see him around his family. She could be certain that the family dynamics would be slightly different than what she'd experience growing up. Smiling up at the mention of his mother having another baby, her expression didn't match her thoughts at all. More babies? Great... Clinging a bit as they approached the mobile home, Lee found it slightly pathetic that the home actually looked "big" to her now.

Rory knocked on the door and was greeted by a small her with blond hair and large green eyes. She squealed happily and tackled him, effectively knocking him to the ground. "La! Kendra, stop!" The little girl was soon joined by an older girl with brown hair and green eyes, the two managing to hold their brother down and tickle him. Rory squirmed, flailing about. Clearly he was partly letting them get away with it, being much taller and stronger than them.
Mr. McCormick appeared at the door and leaned against the frame, sipping coffee and watching. He nodded to Lee politely, chuckling a little at his children. A female voice from inside called out in a foreign language and all three kids froze and quickly got up, the girls heading back inside.
"Tha's me mum," Rory said, dusting himself off and taking Lee's hand in his. "She's sayin' tha' dinner's ready."

Lee squeaked with surprise as Rory was taken down, but soon started laughing at the boys expense, a half amused, half pitying look on her face. Tickling was weird -- he seemed to be having fun, and yet it seemed like torture at the same time. Smiling faintly as Rory's father approached, Lee gave a small wave and uttered, "Hello, Mr. McCormick..." before the woman's voice called from inside.
Squeezing Rory's hand tight, she nodded, her anxieties returning to her. His family had already been so different, so much more lively, than what she was used to.

Rory squeezed her hand reassuringly, kissing the top of Lee's head. "It's alreet. Ain't none o' them gonna bite." He led her into the mobile home, shutting the door behind them. "Since you know me da and you already met Kendra an' Sally--" He gestured to his sisters sitting at the table. "--guess th' only person to introduce is Mum."
A blond woman with green eyes regarded the girl while setting food on the table. She said something in the foreign language and Rory answered before turning to Lee. "She was wonderin' if you wanted some o' the salad, too. I told her you did." He ushered Lee to the table and pulled out a chair for her. After helping Lee sit, he sat next to her.
"How did you two meet?" Mrs. McCormick asked.
"She came up t' the sch--" Rory began and his mother cut him off with a quick word in the foreign language and a snap of her fingers.
"I asked the girl. She's capable of answering, aye?" his mother said, looking at Lee with a mix of curiosity and suspicion.

Lee's face softened as she saw his mother, somehow finding her less intimidating when she was so pretty -- then again, Lee should have known a showgirl would likely be at least somewhat attractive... Her panic soon returned to her, along with a slight bit of confusion after sitting at the table and suddenly having to answer the woman. It was a simple question with a simple answer, but somehow Lee felt like she was suddenly on trial, fidgeting with her shirt nervously before answering. "W-well... I was checking the school out, and Faolan introduced us and had Rory show me around. I dun remember why, but... he ended up buying me lunch and we just started talking." Looking to Rory and back to his mother, she got the feeling she'd given the wrong answer, even if that wasn't possible when answering a question like that.

"Keagan's halfbreed introduced you?" Mr. McCormick asked, helping his youngest daughter cut up her steak. "I didnae know tha'. How d'you know him?"
Rory was quiet, getting food on both his plate and Lee's.

This question was even harder than the last one. No matter how she put it, it wouldn't reflect too well on her. "I've been friends with his wife for a while... eh, well that's how we met, but... Well, we were sort of... We were married. For a little bit..." Sinking in her seat, she couldn't get herself to offer them excuses, and just waited for their impending disapproval.

"So, you're th' outsider girl he rescued? Heard about tha'," Mr. McCormick said, nodding. "You decided t' stay wi' th' clan then after the annullment?" News apparently traveled fast in the camps.
