Kat winced the first few times as he seemed to drive almost too close or too fast, but she quickly began to relax, and strongly enjoy it, as she recognized the control despite the fancy display. "How many cars did you destroy before you were able to do this?" Kat asked, though her lips tightened into a smile each time he sped up or weaved around another vehicle.

Ruby St.Claire Kat winced the first few times as he seemed to drive almost too close or too fast, but she quickly began to relax, and strongly enjoy it, as she recognized the control despite the fancy display. "How many cars did you destroy before you were able to do this?" Kat asked, though her lips tightened into a smile each time he sped up or weaved around another vehicle. "More than most people own in a lifetime." He smiled, sliding through an intersection, cutting across an empty lot and onto a back road, looking over the ocean. The road was empty of traffic, allowing him to floor it as they blazed along.

Kat leaned towards him slightly to look out at the ocean view on his side of the car. She enjoyed it for a brief moment, before sitting back in her seat and smiling as the car moved even faster. "Who taught you to drive like this?"

Jarred smiled wider as he took a hard turn. "I took lessons a while back. It seems like a rich guy thing, doesn't it?"

Kat steadied herself at the hard turn, but her face betrayed how much she enjoyed it. "It does seem like the rich guy thing to do, but you've never seemed to play the part of the rich guy."
She brushed a hand gently along the inside of the car, noting some of the buttons and different features before setting her sights on the radio and turning it on. "How was your childhood? I mean, were you put in a fancy private school with the other rich kids?"

He shook his head briefly, noting "motopsycho" was the song left on the MP3 player in the car.
"I went to a private school, but not some fancy million dollars a week place. My grandfather wanted me to have a good," he paused as he hit another turn, the end of the road in sight, "education, to know more than how to spend money."

"And the other kids were more or less like you, right? Did you enjoy the school?" Kat noted the end of the road approaching though didn't panic, trusting Jarred enough to turn around in time.

"No, they were still snobby." He shrugged, his arms tightening as he let the end of the road get closer. He slammed the brakes, jerking up the e-brake and twisting the wheel, leaving trails of black on the road as the car came to a nice stop, facing the way they came. He smiled, glancing over at Kat. "Enjoy it?"

Kat had gone a bit pale, her eyes still a little wide, and her hands were still firmly placed on the dashboard. Despite that, she nodded. "That was..." She paused, not even sure how to word it, "...I love this car."

He grinned wide at her response. "If we make it through all of this alive, I'll show you my fast car."

Kat's head tilted in surprise. "fast car? You mean this isn't your fast car?" A smile tugged at her lips as she leaned closer to him, the gloss on her lips shining a tad bit brighter. She had to stop herself about twelve inches away and pulled back, reminding herself that she couldn't kiss this man into giving her what she wanted. She leaned back in her seat, "What kind of car is this fast car?"

Jarred smiled, then laughed as she pulled back. "Were you gonna...?" He chuckled, holding a hand up. "I'm not laughing at you, but were you going to kiss where the car was out of me?" He chuckled again.
"It's had so much work done on it, I'm not sure if it carries a brand name anymore." He said, releasing the e-brake, slowly setting back down the road. "But it's fast. Damn fast, 200+"

Kat gave him a slightly grumpy look. "I admit it's a bad habit," she said. "And on anyone else it would work."
She raised her eyebrows, "And you will let me see this fast car some day?"

"Well if you ever want to try your luck, I'd more than welcome the kiss." He teased, going along the turns slower, allowing more of a scenic drive.
"Again, we got to survive this whole damn mess. But if I don't get a hole punched in me by some 12 year old with super strength, then yes."

"You like cranberries that much?" Kat asked, looking out her window at the ocean. Her smile twitched slightly, "I'll be sure to keep you alive best I can then."
