"...I see," remarked Keegan, tilting his head to look at the mess of shattered glass, liquid and poker chips now littering the floor. Was that really necessary? he thought, hoping that he wouldn't have to help clean that up. He looked back up at the table and stared at the Pokeball as though it may explode at any given minute. "What is it?" he asked, eying Edward suspiciously.
"That's part of the fun," Edward laughed, pounding the table with his hand, the Pokeball wobbled a little with the movement. "So what do you say, my friend? Are you feeling lucky, Red?" It was safe to say that Edward was looking quite smug, and Keegan suspected that he had an at least halfway decent hand.
"Actually, yeah, I am," Keegan answered, realizing after a few seconds that he was the one doing the talking. "I am feeling lucky."
"Well then," Edward chuckled. "You'd better ante up, then." He leaned back in his chair and folded his arms across his chest, lightly fanning himself with his cards.
At that moment, it seemed like every pair of eyes in the immediate area all turned to look at him at once, and Keegan nearly shrank back in his seat in embarrassment. "Fine," he grumbled, downing the last of his beer and slamming the empty bottle on the table. He grit his teeth and took a Pokeball from his belt and set it on the table next to the one Edward had put down. "I'm in," he said, sitting up a little straighter in his chair, silently wishing all these people would make like a bunch of trees and get the hell outta here. Last time he checked, poker wasn't really a spectator sport. "All right, Ed," he said, using the shortened form of Edward's name, though surprisingly not in a condescending manner. In turn, Keegan also found that he didn't mind Edward calling him 'Red,' either. He spread his cards face-down on the table in front of him, keeping his expression calm. "Since it was your idea, you go first."
Edward's gaze flickered from the cards Keegan had set down to the pair of Pokeballs resting in the center of the table, his eyes shining with curiosity as to what Pokemon the redhead had so hastily wagered. "I thought you'd say that," he said, taking one last glance at his cards before he tossed them, face-up, on the table in plain enough view for everyone to see. "Check it out, Red," he laughed, slapping the table. "Aces over queens, a full-house! I'd like to see you beat that one!"
Once again the crowd let out a collective murmur, though this one was of approval. Before he knew it, they'd all turned their gaze on Keegan, waiting for him to show his hand. "Well I'll be damned," the redhead said with a defeated sigh, shaking his head as he flipped his cards over, one by one. "I guess you got me," he went on, pausing for a dramatic second once he'd unveiled his initial three kings. "Unless..."
"Unless what?" demanded Edward, who'd already been reaching across the table, but now his hands had frozen only an inch from the pair of Pokeballs.
"Unless four of a kind beats a full house," he said non-chalantly, flipping the last two cards; revealing a fourth king and so not-helpful three of spades. "I dunno, does it? I can't remember if it does. So does it? Hmm?" he asked earnestly, no longer able to suppress a cheeky grin.

It took Robin about twenty minutes, a lot of splashing around and maybe a bruise or two before Luffy was finally clean and dry. Robin herself was finishing toweling herself down as she looked down at her spunky Ambipom. "Luffy you can be such a pain sometimes. Anyway let's see if you can fit into that vest now." Robin muttered as she fished through her bag until she found the small red vest. Surprisingly Luffy held still while she put it on him and when she finished buttoning the last one she looked down at her adorable Ambipom. "Heh, well you certainly look more like your namesake now." Robin grinned.
Changing quickly into her own clothing she headed out of the bathroom and into the pokemon center with a small yawn. It was getting pretty late and she was pretty tired. When she got out there she found Jake watching with amusement as Black*Star seemed to annoy everyone with some sort of speech he was making. Robin could only assume that it was a speech on how he was going to surpass god someday. Rolling her eyes she walked over and knocked him from his perch on the back of a couch. "Honestly Black*Star people are trying to sleep." She muttered before smiling at Jake.
"Ah there you are Robin. We really need to get going if we want to catch that boat." Jake stood up and handed Robin a small bag with her requested items and some change. "I got everything you asked for, they even threw in some strange white ball for free."
"White ball?" Robin questioned as they headed out of the pokemon center and towards the docks.
"Yeah, I dunno, they said that you get one if you buy ten pokeballs." Jake just shrugged as he stepped up to the ticket seller and paid for his ticket.
"Oh well that's pretty cool." Robin muttered as she paid for her own ticket and kept an eye on both Luffy and Black*Star.
The two of them hurried onto the boat and with a small wave at each other they headed off to the men and woman's bunking area's.
Flopping down in one of the small beds that were provided Robin made a small umph as Luffy jumped up onto her stomach, while Black*Star claimed his own bed. "Heh, we are going back to Slateport to see Ampersand Luffy. So lets make sure we get a good nights sleep because we are going to see everyone again! I bet we can have a battle to if you want." The two grinned at each other before settling down a bit. "Oh yeah I forgot that TM I had Jake get for me. I should do that now before I totally forget." She muttered as she reached for the disk in her bag. Pulling it out she reached for Raz's pokeball and pressed the disk to the center of it. It glowed purple for a second before it faded just like Luffy's Return and Brick Break TM's did. That settled Robin fell asleep and didn't wake up until the load horn of the boat woke her up the next morning.

"One, two, three!" Kilik counted as he threw all three of the empty TMs like frisbees up into the air. Again, she jumped with her tail and managed to use a Pound on one, but missed her chance to hit the other two before they landed on the ground. The one that she hit, however, shattered upon impact. Treecko landed on the ground and looked over her shoulder at Kilik. "So you couldn't hit all three," he said, walking over to the two discs. "That's okay," he said as he picked them up, "I didn't expect you to. You're still a baby." When he stood back up, he saw Mitsu sitting a few yards away. The boy looked down at the ground and pretended he didn't see her.
I'll give her something to enjoy while we wait, the boy thought with a bit of a smirk, laughing quietly to himself. "Okay, Treecko, we'll try just one again. Ready?" he threw it with an idle flick of the wrist when he got back to his spot, his back facing Mitsu. Instead of jumping, Treecko followed it with her eyes and clenched her little fists. Blue fire began to stream out of her mouth, aimed straight at where the target was falling towards. The disc fell into her Dragonbreath and then to the ground, smoldering into nothing. "Uhm..." Kilik's eyes were wide. She tracked it and attacked where it would be? he thought, raising an eyebrow after the initial shock wore off, She may still be a baby but she's smart. Cable didn't do that when he was little. I don't think he does anyway. With only one disc left, he didn't want it to get destroyed so easily. He scratched his nose.
"C'mere, Treecko," he said, kneeling down. She ran up his arm and to his shoulder, her new favorite place in the world, and tilted her head. Did she do something wrong? "Now we're going to try an exercise in which you hold back power. You see, sometimes, we only need to use a little power to attack." Kilik's mind was trying to think of a better way to explain it. "If you're almost going to win, why use all your power when you can just use a tiny bit?" He moved his pointer finger and thumb closer to emphasize his point. Understanding what he meant, she hopped down and crawled on all fours a few feet away. "Now, use Dragonbreath but only a little!" Kilik tossed the disc up into the air. She let loose her attack, only a few spheres of blue fire floating over to the disc instead of a constant stream. The attack hit and the disc fell to the ground. Treecko walked over and picked it up, taking it to Kilik afterwards. "Good girl," he said, taking it from her. "We're gonna do that a few more times. Then we'll have breakfast." He smiled when her face lit up.

Mitsu laughed quietly. Kilik was such a show off at times, though she had to admit that the Treecko was impressive and that her mannerisms were quite adorable. The girl took another large bite from her muffin, munching the blue berries and pastry in her mouth, finishing the small breakfast she'd conveniently picked up from the PokeCenter cafeteria. She'd seem to lack most of the prim and proper manners when it came to eat at the moment, though she didn't quite care. She never understood why girls had to be so meticulous when they ate. Food was food after all. Ivy's apple had been long gone by now, core and stem along with it.
Mitsu idly patted the Grass type on the head as they continued to watch Trainer and Pokemon alike working hard to improve their battle techniques. Looking down at the Ivysaur she noticed how large he'd gotten, he was far too big for a normal Ivysaur. Maybe he would evolve soon, though the fact that he hadn't yet probably meant that he wasn't ready to change forms for the second and last time. You're so big I can't even hold you anymore, she thought with a small fond laugh as she remembered the time she'd caught him meandering around the Petalburg Woods, completely in the wrong region. It had been the same time Mike had caught Portabello. They were definitely some fond memories.
"Hey!" a voice called out.
Mitsu turned her head, standing up. It wasn't Kilik's voice but another person's. He was wearing a pair of dark wash jeans and a plain white button down shirt with a black tie. He looked about their age, give or take a few years. Running his hand through his short black hair he asked, "Let me battle your Ivysaur. I promise it'll be good." He threw her a wink for added emphasis.
Mitsu chuckled to herself. "Deal," she replied. Ivy quickly got into a battle stance himself. This time it was Mitsu who had her back to Kilik. "One on one," she confirmed. The boy smiled before throwing out a Great Ball. A Slowking appeared in a shower of red lights. "Justin's the name. Ladies first," he said with a bow and a silly grin plastered on his face.

By the time Mia has managed to cross the lake the rain began to pick up again, drenching the girl in water. Once off the bridge she stood face to face with a small forest in which she'd have to navigate. Route 212 sure was big and she figured she wouldn't even reach Hearthome until lunch. Especially not with this kind of weather. Not that the rain bothered her at all, in fact, she found it quite refreshing.
She hummed loudly to herself she stepped foot into the forest, happily zigzagging her way through the thick brush. A scream broke through the clam forest air causing several Staravia to flutter from their perches as a Kricketune emerged from a nearby bush, scaring the living day lights out of the peppy girl. She placed her hand over her heart taking in several dramatic deep breaths. "Geeeeeeeeeeeez," Mia cried after catching her breath.
The Pokemon looked at her with frantic eyes, scared both by the scream and the girl's odd mannerisms. It growled, though the attack came out more musical than anything. Deciding that it was sticking around to defend itself Mia threw forth her only white and red sphere. "Ryhme, you're up!" she called throwing forth the Pokeball with a spin. She nearly fell, her shoes still covered in mud. It didn't provide for much grip.
"Aqua Jet!" she commanded quickly pointing a finger at the Cricket Pokemon. Her battling side always seemed to show itself when there was no one around. Deny it as she may it was clear that she had the blood of a gym leader.
Ryhme nodded before tucking her left arm at her side and pointing her right arm at the Kricketune, much like her trainer had done before. A plume of water wrapped itself around the Floatzel and she took off like a rocket, slamming her fist into the Bug Pokemon's side. The Kricketune cried out in pain, a tinkling musical note in place of a guttered cry.
"This'll be a piece of cake!" Mia cheered, pumping her fist into the raining sky. "Or maybe pie. I like pie too."

"Xipil, use Mach Punch!" Xipil nodded and leaped up into the air. She swiped at the floating pink pokemon, and scraped it's underside with her claws. Eztli looked down. How could she have forgotten? Hoppip would be strong against Fighting moves. The girl, however, didn't seem to notice. She seemed more worried about the tiny damage the Hoppip had taken.
"Oh! Oh dear! Use Synthesis!" The Hoppip glowed briefly while it regained energy, but since it hadn't lost much in the first place, it didn't change much. Eztli raised an eyebrow, and cocked her head.
"Um, okay then. Xip, Ember!" Xipil puffed out her chest, and then exhaled several tiny balls of fire at the Hoppip, most striking its face. It whined. A few flames flickered before disappearing, leaving scorch marks.
"Oh we need to avoid those! Sunny Day! You'll be faster and you can use your special move!" The Hoppip's leaves glowed a bright white before releasing the energy to the sky. The sunlight turned intense and Eztli shielded her eyes. Xip followed suit. The girl cheered.
"Good! Now use SolarBeam!" The bright glow returned to the leaves, and this fired directly at Xipil, knocking her to the ground as it exploded outwards. Eztli staggered back. As Xipil struggled to her feet, Eztli decided to point out something obvious.
"Hey, you know you just made Xipil stronger right?!" The girl's smile fell.
"But...Oh...At least I still have two more pokemon!" Eztli raised her eyebrow again. The girl's voice had no confidence in it, and she suspected she had sent out her strongest first to get the battle over with.
"Xipil! Ember again!" The little fire pokemon inhaled again, but this time the fireballs were much larger. Ezlti felt a slight breeze in the air.
===================
Sam watched with wonder. Devlin must have been stronger then he looked because she hadn't expected Miles to even budge when the baby bird hit him. "Again! Miles, this time, I want you to dodge it slowly! So he has to fix his aim!" Miles moved to his left in exaggerated slow motion. Devlin backed up again, this time angling himself towards Miles, and launched again. He missed Miles by a few inches, and flew past, hitting the soft sand beak-first. He popped out of the sand, rubbing his eyes with his wings. He pouted as Miles turned and laughed. Without waiting for an order, he flew forward but his beak wasn't glowing. Apparently he was taking matters into his own hand. Miles watched carefully, but Devlin disappeared before he reached the Pig Nose pokemon. Miles looked around, but didn't see the bird pokemon sneak up behind him and attempt to Astonish him. Miles was completely oblivious to his attempts, scratching his head. Devlin jumped on Miles shoulders and screeched in his face. Miles jumped upwards, terrified, and fell back down while Devlin took off, hovering a few feet above the ground. Miles quickly got up and started yelling what could only be profanities in their language. He started trying to claw at Devlin, but the bird would always hover a few feet higher, just out of reach. Still, Sam could see Devlin was already tiring out from the strain.
"Okay Miles, enough! Calm down." Miles glared at her in between jumps. He glanced at the pack Sam had set down earlier, and dashed towards it. Sam saw it too late, and by the time she reached the pack, Miles had already stolen something small and shiny out of her bag. It was the Boulder Badge she had won the day before. He held it high above his head, threatening to throw it into the ocean. He chattered tersely to Sam. "Miles...Please...put the badge down. If you put it down, I'll let you...Um..." He chattered again, cocking his arm back. Sam held up her hands. She was tempted to just return him to his ball, but she wasn't sure what would happen to the badge. Suddenly, Devli, who had been losing altitude steadily, divebombed Miles, snatching the badge from his grasp and dropping it into Sam's hands. The Murkrow crash landed, but hopped back up again. Sam knew she shouldn't push it though. She recalled Miles, who protested and screeched furiously and brought out Star's pokeball. She rubbed the little star she had scratched in, and whispered to it. "Star, go easy on him okay? He's a baby." She pressed the button, and Star came out. Devlin caught sight of her, and immediately started whimpering. There was something venemous in Star's eyes that scared him, but he held his ground and had a staring contest with the MudFish. A full minute passed, with Sam torn between the two. She worried for Devlin's safety, but knew it would be a good learning expericence for both of them. She noticed a slight change in Star's stance, noticed a slight intake of breath. It could be one of two things, Water Gun or Mud Shot. Either way, Star was aiming to blast the baby to high heaven and Sam knew this is where she needed to teach Devlin to dodge and fast.
"Devlin, jump up in the air quickly!" The bird took off, whipping up sand particles. Star let loose a concentrated stream of mud, which missed Devlin by a mile. Sam sighed.

A quiet yawn escaped Kasiya as she wandered along the path towards the Pokemon Center, suddenly very anxious to get to that soft, warm bed. She could see the red-roofed building, illuminated by the glow of the lampposts lining the streets, and just the sight of it was welcoming. "Finally," she mumbled, though her pace slowed a little when she realized that the path seemed to be tilting a little in front of her... no wait a minute, that was her. She stopped walking and closed her eyes, holding her head in her hands. "I must be more tired than I think I am," she mumbled, taking in a few slow, steady deep breaths in order to make the dizziness go away. Once she opened her eyes again, she had to do a double take as she looked around her. The Pokemon Center had vanished, as well as the street she'd been walking along, though the streetlights were still there, or so she thought. "Those aren't streetlights," she mumbled, her tired, sleepy feelings quickly being replaced by feelings of fear and panic. In the place where she thought the streetlights should be were several small, baseball-sized orbs, each glowing brightly as though lit by a pale blue flame. Then, all at once, the orbs winked out of existence, leaving Kasiya alone in the dark.
"Uh... okay, that's really weird," Kasiya squeaked, now frozen on the spot, fearful that the sudden inky blackness that had surrounded her would swallow her up completely. "Is anyone out there?" she called hopefully, but wasn't really surprised when she didn't get an answer. Oh, this is just great, she thought, now shivering from the cold. Now I'm suddenly lost and in the middle of no one knows where! What am I going to do...? Her thoughts were quickly interrupted as she noticed a faint red dot somewhere off to the right of her, moving quite erratically before it vanished. Kasiya stared hard in the direction she'd seen it, hoping with all her might that she was hallucinating. She blinked a few times, and rubbed her eyes. It was the exhaustion getting to her, she was sure of it. Deciding then and there that the best thing to do would be to retrace her steps, she did just that, pivoting pointedly on a heel and scoffing to herself as she began an overly dramatic (and somewhat childish) march back (hopefully) towards the Contest Hall.
=-=-=-=-= He should have focused on Squirtle and not Weedle, Jaeshan thought as he watched the Shroomish struggle to get back up to it's feet, nearly half it's body frosted over with icy patches. Knowing that the Mushroom Pokemon would take a moment to recover, Jaeshan turned his attention towards the Nosepass, which was looking in the sleeping Weedle's direction. "Squirtle!" Jaeshan shouted. "Cover Weedle, and hit Nosepass with your Bubble attack!" Squirtle nodded, having needed a moment to recover after firing that Ice Beam, dashed towards the Rock-type. He reared back and loosed a barrage of glossy bubbles at his target, once again needing a moment to catch his breath.
"Get that Squirtle with Tackle, Nosepass!" the boy shouted, having seen how his strategy was failing him. The Nosepass was first to attack, launching itself head-first at Squirtle and landing a solid hit directly to the center of the turtle Pokemon's stomach and forcing him to stagger back a little. If that shell hadn't been there to protect him, it would easily have knocked the wind out of him. "Now, Shroomish! Use Absorb to heal yourself!" the boy cried. The half-frozen Mushroom Pokemon rushed forward with as much gusto as it could muster, and it jumped onto Squirtle's back and latched on. The two Pokemon glowed with a faint green aura as Shroomish began to leech away as much of Squirtle's energy as it could in order to heal itself, and at the moment there wasn't anything Squirtle could do to fend it off.
=-=-=-=-= Erika didn't really bother to see if the Razor Leaf had gone through or not as she was too busy watching her Pokemon. That last attack hadn't been easy to pull off and it had taken a lot out of him, and she knew then and there that he was done. When she heard the call for a Body Slam she simply shook her head. "No, not this time," she said softly. Not wanting the young Ivysaur to sustain any further and unnecessary damage she quickly recalled him into his Pokeball, depriving Poliwhirl of a target upon which to unleash his Body Slam. "You did quite well today, Ivysaur," she told the sphere fondly, gently tucking it into the folds of her obi. "Now we are down to one Pokemon apiece," the gym leader said almost dreamily as she withdrew her third and final Pokeball. "I wonder what the outcome will be." She gracefully tossed the sphere out into the battlefield, and a good-sized Pokemon bearing large red flower petals appeared in a flash of light. "Vileplume, Toxic."
There was definitely a jovial spring in Vilepume's step as she moved forward, her large, spotted petals seemingly dancing with her every movement. When she heard her trainer's command she stopped, looking towards the blue Poliwhirl with a seemingly out-of place smile. "Pluuume," she said happily, and all the petals seemed to curl upwards at once before there was a soft-sounding explosion, and suddenly a thick violet haze, so dark it looked almost black, covered the battlefield.

Poliwhirl charged forward eager as ever, only to find a red light snatch up his prey before his very eyes. The coward! He thought angrily looking at Erika as he jumped back to Crenu's side. Poliwhirl was fuming, but Crenu was the exact opposite. He understood why Erika had done what she had, he knew as well as she did that Ivysaur had run out of steam using that last attack. That didn't matter, what did matter was Erika's next pokemon and what she would do with it. Considering the decor of the gym and from her last pokemon, Crenu wasn't the least bit surprised to see a poison grass type before them. "Vileplume. Easy now Poliwhirl, this one's dangerous." Poliwhirl listened to his trainer, but he didn't care. The more dangerous the better! His last opponent was taken from him before he could crush him, this pokemon would have to do. Yes, he was going to have to hurt it extra bad just to make up for it! Poliwhirl started to laugh to himself as he thought about it, he was so excited! But before he could get another thought in the field was covered in sinister looking cloud. Everything about it just screamed death, but Poliwhirl only kept giggling. "Knock it off Poliwhirl. Don't breath it in if you can, just be strong and resist the poison." Poliwhirl's face shifted to a frowned, or at least did the closest thing to a frown that a faceless pokemon like that could manage, and held his ground. The black fog washed over him, but Poliwhirl kept his focus and tried to resist it as best he could while he let it ride out for a bit. He seemed to be alright, it looked like Poliwhirl had managed to escape being poisoned this time. "Alright good. Poliwhirl counter with an Ice Beam." Poliwhirl was more than happy to oblige, pointing a hand at Vileplume and laughing as it started to glow brightly in the nearly black poisonous plume. With a probably unnecessary pushing gesture the white frosty beam cut through the diminishing cloud directly at Vileplume.

Kasiya hadn't taken more than four steps before she found herself rooted to the spot again, as cutting through the darkness were more of those glowing, red dots. Instead of moving faintly away, however, these ones seemed to be moving towards her. "Uh... uh... uh..." she stammered, trying to find her voice and suddenly wishing more than anything that Hiro was here with her right now. Nothing she knew of scared the mighty Arcanine and she always felt safe with him by her side, but unfortunately for her Hiro was back at Professor Oak's laboratory, probably sound asleep right about now. Gathering her courage, Kasiya made a fist and stomped her foot on the ground, trying to make herself look intimidating. "You'd b-better back off right n-now!" she said loudly, though the warble in her voice betrayed her. "Don't make me bring out my Pokemon," she added, though the mention of her Pokemon finally reminded her that she wasn't alone in this. The glowing red dots, about seven in total, moved ever closer, apparently undeterred by the girl's warning. "Okay, I warned you," Kasiya grumbled, holding up a Pokeball and releasing Leviathan. "Levi, blast 'em away with your Surf attack!" she commanded firmly.
The Marshtomp blinked a few times and rubbed her eyes, not even sure just what it was that she was attacking. Oh well, that's what Surf was for! "Maaarsh!" Levi cried, dropping down to all fours. Within seconds water began to spout out of the ground behind her and it quickly rose up to form a wide wall. Kasiya was sure she saw the red dots widen a little in surprise as Levi pointed a flipper forward, and the wall of water crashed down in front of her with a thunderous roar.
=-=-=-=-= "Squirtle! Fight it!" Jaeshan shouted, watching helplessly as the frosty Shroomish continued to sap away the turtle Pokemon's health, while Nosepass stood nearby, unsure of what to do next. Oh man, things have really gone sour on me, he thought, frowning. He knew that if Squirtle was taken out, then that would be it. He'd closed his eyes, trying to think of something he could have Squirtle do when he heard a cry from Weedle, and he looked up in time to see the drowsy bug launch itself through the air towards the Shroomish's very-exposed backside for a sneak-attack Poison Sting. The Shroomish's eyes went comically wide as it found itself on the receiving end of Weedle's attack, and it's hold on Squirtle was lost almost instantly. Without waiting for an order from Jaeshan, the young turtle pivoted quickly on a foot and lashed out with his long, curly tail, smacking Shroomish square in the face and sending it rolling back head over heels. "All right, Weedle! Nice job!" Jaeshan called, unsure of when the Hairy Bug Pokemon had awoken from his sleep.
"Shroomish, no!" the boy wailed, looking at his fallen Pokemon with dismay. His despair quickly turned to anger and he recalled it, glaring at his Nosepass. "Nosepass, Tackle that bug into submission!" he shouted, tears stinging the corners of his eyes. Suddenly aware that he was in this fight alone, Nosepass' arms went straight up, resting on the sides of his face for a second before it rushed forward, slamming Weedle with a powerful hit. It was Weedle's turn to be knocked for a loop and the bug landed at Jaeshan's feet, clearly unable to continue battling.
=-=-=-=-= "How predictable," Erika commented idly, watching as Poliwhirl began to charge up his Ice Beam. "Vileplume, dodge and use Attract, if you would be so kind." Even with the knowledge that her Pokemon knew what she was doing, the Gym Leader's expression remained calm, though the excitement shining in her eyes was clearly visible. No matter what the outcome would be, she was enjoying this match. As the Ice Beam was fired, Vileplume danced to the left on surprisingly light feet, though she didn't move quick enough to evade it completely. Though frigid in temperature, the ice burned, and Vileplume let out a small cry as the right side of her body was subjected to a partial hit from Poliwhirl's Ice Beam. It hurt quite a bit, though she was quick to shake it off, however, and twirled on the spot, winking cutely and blowing a kiss out towards the Tadpole Pokemon. The true workings of Vileplume's Attract was different from how most Pokemon would use it; as the gestures she used were merely used in conjunction with a very noticeable, intoxicating aroma that soon wafted throughout the arena.

"...how annoying." Crenu watched as Vileplume did her little dance, not fully aware of the aroma she was letting out to ensure Poliwhirl's infatuation. But regardless, he knew the consequences that would come from attraction. He expected status afflictions going into a grass type gym but attraction wasn't really something that crossed his mind. Still, there was no reason to get upset over it, he knew that Poliwhirl would manage an attack every now and then. He just had to make sure they were the right moves. Poliwhirl angrily stomped the floor when that stupid looking flower spun around and avoided a direct hit, stupid stupid Vilelume! Why couldn't she just roll over and die already! And why...why was she looking so cute all of a sudden? Poliwhirl started feeling a little flustered just by looking at her, she was suddenly so...alluring. This was it, this was love! All Poliwhirl wanted was to please her, she could do no wrong. "Get a grip on yourself Poliwhirl, now's not the time for useless things like love. Put her down with Hypnosis." Poliwhirl heard Crenu's command, but could he do it? Could he do anything to harm this botanic angel before his eyes? He palms felt wetter than usual, it was like he was sweating just being in her presence....but wait no! This was a battle! Oh but she was so fair and beautiful..well it wasn't a direct attack...and his sweet Vileplume probably looked cute sleeping. But no he couldn't betray her could he? With much effort Poliwhirl was able to suppress his feelings for a moment, though it tore him up inside. The black spiral on his stomach appeared to spin as he stared back at the wonderful Vileplume, using hypnotic suggestions to try and get her to sleep. God he hoped he never had to do something like that again, in fact he knew he couldn't. 'Please forgive me my love!' he called out to his dearest flower.

The silence that followed the deafening tsunami was almost louder than the actual crash itself, and after it was over Kasiya stood perfectly still, eyes wide open as she searched for signs of the glowing red orbs. Maybe... maybe I just imagined it, she thought once her search had turned up nothing. I'm hallucinating, I really am! She sighed and closed her eyes, once again holding her head in her hands. What a night! She didn't think she could take much more.
"Marsh, tommp," came Levi's voice, and Kasiya felt the cold, slimy flipper prodding her leg. Kasiya opened her eyes, unable to suppress a shrill shriek as the red orbs had come back, though this time there seemed to be only four of them. Leviathan, though nearly as freaked out as her trainer, remained perfectly still, watching these strange 'eyes' carefully as they moved ever closer. It wasn't until they were within about ten or fifteen feet that the owners of these red eyes came into view, and Kasiya realized then that they were actually Pokemon - Ghost Pokemon, from the look of it.
"Wait, I know you!" she yelled, pointing an accusing finger at the nearest interloper. These four each had a single, glowing red eye that seemed to bounce back and forth between it's eye sockets, and white, almost skeletal masks covering their faces, while their bodies looked as though they were covered in dark cloaks. Kasiya scrambled for her PokeDex and pointed it at the quartet of ghostly Pokemon, impatiently waiting for it to answer.
"Duskull, the Requiem Pokemon. Able to pass through thick walls without effort, the glare from this Pokemon's single, red eye is said to make even the burliest and bravest of grown-ups freeze with fear. Duskull is a nocturnal Pokemon that roams about under the cloak of darkness. Duskull are also able to make themselves invisible, and have a fondness for scaring naughty children." the monotonous voice of the PokeDex informed her, and Kasiya sighed. Yeah, Duskull, she thought, remembering that Dante had one with him at one point. She didn't know what the lot of them were doing here now, though. Levi had taken up an offensive stance in front of Kasiya, ready to protect her if necessary.
=-=-=-=-= "That was pretty good for your first battle," Jaeshan told Weedle proudly as he was recalled into his Pokeball. That little guy has a lot of spunk... He's gonna make an awesome Beedrill someday, he thought as he clipped the sphere back into place on his belt, and looked over towards Squirtle. The turtle was looking a little unsteady, but it was quite obvious that he had no plans to give in any time soon. Jaeshan glanced over at the kid's Nosepass. It seemed to feel the same way Squirtle did, though neither Pokemon looked like they could withstand more than one hit. "Squirtle! Finish it with a Bubble attack!" Jaeshan called.
"Tackle!" the boy shouted a split second later, and even as the turtle Pokemon reared back, preparing to fire the Compass Pokemon had already started to rush forward. Squirtle loosed the stream of bubbles, giving it everything he had left. Nosepass winched as they burst against him, but kept charging until he collided with Squirtle, both being knocked back a bit by the force of the hit. Neither Pokemon was able to get up again, and thus the battle resulted in a draw.
For a moment both trainers just looked at their respective Pokemon before recalling him. "Well, that was interesting," Jaeshan chuckled, glancing over at the boy, who'd turned his back and was glowering at something in the distance. "No hard feelings?" the older boy asked, offering a handshake.
The boy didn't answer right away, but after a few seconds his shoulders slumped and he sighed. "Yeah, no hard feelings," he repeated, shaking Jaeshan's hand. "I take back what I said earlier, too. Your Pokemon are pretty tough."
"So are yours," Jaeshan replied, glancing at his watch, figuring that he easily had enough time to get Weedle and Squirtle healed before he had to get back down to the harbor again. After wishing the youngster luck on his future battles he did just that, jogging towards the Pokemon Center. He spent more time in the center than he wanted to and by the time he'd received his two Pokemon back he was practically running out the door. He made it just in the nick of time, barely making it up the boarding ramp before the sailors were pulling it up, and the ship set sail. Sighing heavily, Jaeshan flopped down on the deck, not even bothering to find himself a seat. He closed his eyes, allowing the rocking of the waves against the boat to help him relax a little after all that rushing, completely unaware of the mistake he'd just made.
=-=-=-=-= The sight of the love-struck Poliwhirl caused Erika to laugh out loud, though she quickly covered her mouth with her hand and regained her composure. Her laughter hadn't been obnoxious or smug, nothing like that, just that she'd found the Tadpole's reaction to infatuation to be quite cute. She could see the pained look on the Pokemon's 'face' as it struggled to initiate his Hypnosis technique, and even Erika averted her eyes. "Don't look at him, Vileplume!" she called, though a part of her doubted very much that even if Vileplume was put to sleep, Poliwhirl wouldn't be able to attack her without having second thoughts about it. "Just stay focused, and use Mega Drain when you can!" Though also amused by Poliwhirl's actions, Vileplume blinked a few times, very much drawn in by the hypnotic pattern on the Tadpole's belly, but closed her eyes and turned away from Poliwhirl, concentrating hard on Erika's voice as she called out to her. It was difficult and she could feel the drowsiness settling in, and though she knew it would slow her down a bit she managed to stave off sleep this time. Vileplume shook herself out a bit, her petals bouncing up and down with the movement, and she looked back at Poliwhirl, taking a few steps forward as she tilted her head, the center of her flower glowing with a greenish aura as she prepared to start sapping away as much energy from her 'love' as she could.

Isabelle and Sweetness continued on their way down route 203. Most of it was uneventful other than a few pokemon that peaked out of the grass, but quickly decided that the somewhat burnt up trainer and snarky looking buddew were probably not worth their time. It was fine enough for Isabelle. While she wanted to have some badges to her name it was mostly to give her some sense of credibility. She had little to no desire to seak out weaker pokemon to beat on. Trainer battles were more where she was apt to find her niche. And as soon as she got into Oreburgh she was goign to start finding some trainers to get on that. Right now her first priority was to get to the poke-centre to give sweetness a rest and to allow Frank and Euri back out. She had kept them in time out for long enough.
Isabelle reached Oreburgh just as darkness was falling. Perfect time if she did say so her self. Her stomach grumbled as a reminder that the meal in Jubilife had been too long ago given the fact that she had spent the entire day walking. As soon as she was in the city limits she took the two other poke-balls of her belt and released the roudy pokemon that were inside. Sweetness quickly looked up at her as if she disaproved of the idea. Which no doubt she did.
The tiny flower pokemon had seemed happy for most of the afternoon when it was out with her trainer. Something told Isabelle that the very thought of having to put up with the two very very roudy pokemon that helped in her defeat was not something that Sweetness was up for this evening. In fact she hid behind Isabelle's legs as soon as the two other pokemon appeared on the ground.
"Alright, you can handle an off tempered Shinx but these two hoolligans are too much for you?" Isabelle questioned. The Buddew looked up at her.
"Bud! DEW!" Sweetness grunted out.
"Fine. But sooner or later the three of you are going to have to learn how to get along." She recalled the tiny plant pokemon. The Smirks on Euri's and Frank's faces didn't go get past her. "You two need to learn how to make her feel welcome." Isabelle scolded. The two pokemon straighted up and falled into line, as though they were going to salute their trainer. Isabelle couldn't help but giggle.

"What do you guys want with me?" Kasiya asked, taking a tentative step back. "I'm not a bad kid, why do you want to scare me? Leave me alone!" Though she hadn't really been expecting an answer from them, it was still annoying not to get anything but a ghostly chuckle as a response. Kasiya grumbled in annoyance and looked down at Levi. "All right, looks like we're going to have to use force to make them leave us alone," she told the Marshtomp, who nodded in reply. "Use Ice Be-" She wouldn't get a chance to finish her command as suddenly something else, cloaked in black, flew right by her ear, followed by several more. Kasiya let out another terrified squeal, and in her haste to jump back tripped over absolutely nothing and fell hard to the ground, sending a jolt of pain right up from her tailbone all the way to her healing shoulder. She could hear more sinister chuckling, and as she looked around, three more Pokemon had joined her, though they weren't Duskull. Now eight in total, the Pokemon had formed a ring around the human and her Marshtomp. "What are those?!" she shrieked, now looking at the four additional Pokemon that had appeared, looking like a bunch of soot-covered, floating napkins.
"Shuppet, the Puppet Pokemon," her PokeDex answered for her, nearly causing her to scream yet again. It lay on the ground beside her, having been dropped when she tripped. "Shuppet are attracted by feelings of jealousy and vindictiveness. They roam about during the night in search of the dark, negative emotions in order to feed on them. When a person that has been tainted with strong feelings of envy or vengeance has been found, these Pokemon are said to appear in swarms, lining the eaves of that person's house."
"What the hell?!" Kasiya grumbled, snatching up the PokeDex and stuffing it into her pocket, suddenly quite offended by the information it had given her. "I'm not jealous or vindictive or envious or vengeful! And I'm not a bad kid, either!" she shouted, getting to her feet, albeit quite shakily. Without a second thought she started pressing the buttons on all her Pokeballs, releasing the rest of her party. A quick count told her that she was still outnumbered, eight to six, but she had faith that her Pokemon could handle the lopsided numbers. "Alright you pesky ghosts, get ready to rumble!"
Seeing the situation they were in, Flash and Digger were the first to take up defensive positions, the spikes on both their bodies bristling as menacing growls escaped their throats. Twilight, taking a cue from his brother did the same, the blue rings on his body glowing brightly under the moonlight. Neither Rosemary nor Nova seemed to know what to do at first, and instead just stood by, watching and waiting. Nova was hugging her trainer's leg fearfully until one of the Shuppet made a run at Kasiya, obviously fond of the angry vibes coming off the girl. The tiny Charmander would have none of that and jumped forward, opening her mouth and sending out a fierce jet of flames right into the oncoming Pokemon's face, which signaled the start of the brawl.

Serenity tossed and turned as she slept. George found that he was actually spending more of his night making sure that she was okay rather than sleeping himself. It was fine enough to him. Anything he could do to get rid of that feelign inside of himself that he hadn't done enough the day before. He wasn't entirely sure what he could have done to fix it, or what he could do from here on out to fix it, but he was going to do what ever he could.
He stayed by her most of the night as she thrashed about in her dreams. George wondered what on earth that she could possibly be dreaming about. It was true that he had not known the girl for very long, but there was not a lot in her life that would cause such dreams. At least that he knew about. He had talked with some of the other pokemon in the yard. All of them seemed to agree that Serenity for the most part was very kind and mostly stayed at home to look after them. Perhaps he had simply asked the wrong questions. There were other pokemon he could talk to. Older ones that would have known Sere for very long.
George was careful to make sure that he didn't stay too long on the dress incase Sere thrashed too much and he ended up ripping it. Though she didn't seem like the type of girl to get angry about clothing being ripped, the slightly tempermental sister of hers definately did. So, George found himself shifting very often, almost falling off the bed several times, so that Sere could get at least some rest.
When the sun started to come up he found that he was re-energized by it. Perhaps the next night he woudl be able to sleep a little more soundly, or maybe he would even get some rest while they travelled to the new region, but for right now he was content to be there when his trainer woke up.

It wasn't too long before Euri and George started to wrestle with each other. It wasn't too long before Isabelle considered putting them back in the pokeballs after weighing the possible property damage that they would cause.
"If you two can not behave then you need to go back into your pokeballs. I do not have the money to fix any damage that you do." She said sternly. "Save that kind of ruckus when we are out in the grass."
The two playful pokemon looked up at her then bowed their heads. They had been through this enough over the last few days to know that the woman meant business. They didn't separate but for the most part they kept their hands and wings to themselves.
Isabelle could see the pokecentre from where she was but after the day she spend walking it for some reason looked entirely too far away. She sighed and slumped a bit as she continued to walk. 'Will this day never end?' She thought.
The Oreburgh pokecenter was quiet, which was a bit of a surprise to Isabelle. She had expected that at this time of day there would be more trainers looking for a place to lie their head down or at least to get supper. She figured though that at least this way she wouldn't have to worry about Euri and Frank starting any trouble. It also meant she wouldn't have to worry about dodging battles while she was too tired to do anything about it.
"Can I get a room for the night please?" Isabelle asked the nice lady at the counter.
"Yes you can. Chances are you wont even have to share tonight." The blonde lady said. "Though I would reserve your room early tomorrow. We are expecting many people on the boat from the other region."
Isabelle nodded but looked slightly confused. "I heard about these other regions just yesterday. I didn't realize that people were coming in so soon."
The lady behind the counter sighed. "Neather did we. Now every city is rushing to try and make sure that we have the room for more trainers."
"Thank you very much for the room." Isabelle smiled uncomfortably, then guided her two pokemon to her room for the night.
