My daughter gets ringworm very easily... you can't even say the word very loud without her getting it... I know the pain it is, when she was younger we would just treat it and life would go on... Now as a teenager, if she even thinks she is getting it she will go threw an anxiety attack and think she is getting hundreds of spots all over her body. The last time she had an anxiety attack over ringworm she chose to drive into town to get some more stuff for it and got a speeding ticket because she was so upset that she just had to get to the store to get rid of the ringworm as quick as she could.

No, it's largely because I'm a whimp. My eyes get to the point where they start to water pretty badly after 5 or 6 hours and after about 8 hours, if I blink wrong, those horrible little things just pop out. (If I'm lucky, they just glop onto my cheek. If I'm not, they do it when I'm reaching for something in the car.) One eye doctor I went to said that the cone-shape of my corneas did slowly put pressure on the lenses, but I don't see how that would provide enough pressure to eject them. It really depends on how much my eyes water, but I've never gotten used to wearing them.

I was in the emergency room a few weeks ago when she was having trouble sleeping, having cold sweats, vomiting, and her eyes were dialiated. Ends up that was all from an anxiety attack too... gotta love when you are woke up at 3 am to go to the hospital for no good reason. They have offered to try her on meds for anxiety... she refuses them and at 17 she cannot be forced to take them.

I remember hearing that from my parents too...
The system is so different now, if a child would now tell a parent there is something wrong (or they think there is) and the parent does nothing... the kid says something at school and a teacher overhears... the next thing you know the kid is being taken away because you are not a good parent.

And yet, they still seem to miss the truely abusive parents, probably because they're too busy messing with the rest of us.

The truely abusive parents have their kids too scared to tell anyone anything, they keep the trouble to them selves so the teachers and other officials think they are just quiet kids... it is the ones that have it good and one day things don't go like they want and they tell the world how bad they have it and the wrong person hears and makes a big fuss over it.
