I like to think that nature is more or less trying to evict California like a bad tenant, or maybe try to get them to make better movies.
They really should have noted whether or not California was this prone to um....fire....before people settled it en mass.

Not sure about sneak checks being rolled by one of us? But then again sneaking is a pass or fail sort of thing I guess...but then again all the remaining NPCs and us would have to roll against to sense you.....but then again x2 we're all busy fighting @_@ gahd, GM?

Yea, i dont think you can do the roll, it's kinda up to gm, although it is for appearence reasons... that's a hard one, oh well, mad D but there are usually four outcomes, not just two.

yeah. Based my rolling on pm's between me and GM. You guys want to interpret anything different, be my guests. I'll play by whatever rules are set, since I've never played 'Dungeons and dragons'. Just need to be informed if I need to change. Tonas Ninja Zackeus Tonas Ninja Zackeus ...What on the first page did I miss? sweatdrop I even looked again, couldn't find what you're talking about, didn't know what to look for. Also, lvl. 8 for me means...? I'm dumb, I meant the last page, not the first lol. Anyways, level 8 thief means: 75% success rate of opening simple locks 50% success rate of opening difficult locks 25% success rate of opening magical locks Same for traps. 50% chance for backstab attacks. 50% chance to remain undetected when hiding in shadows. 75% chance to pick pockets if stealthed (10% if not) cool. Also.... How do I become stealthed? Just state that you "take refuge in the shadows" or "shadowmeld" or give some indication to me that you are "hidden" and I will factor that in when you perform actions.

Just don't pretend to be an elven priestess <.< Our last thief was rather short lived, three posts maybe?
Mostly we've been roleplaying intent and the GM has been putting rolls in for success/fail taking into consideration stats, class and situation.
so...according to the info given, say you want to unlock a magic chest or disarm a magic trap in a secure area, on a D20 against a magically locked chest/trap: 1-5 is an Epic Fail:try again or perhaps you broke the lock /trap got set off. 6-15 is a No trap got set off/ lock opened and you can try again 16-20 is you succeeded opening the lock and disarming the trap.
but hell, whatever gets a thumbs up and keeps the ball rolling I guess :shrugs: mrgreen super green (I've been watching Fifth Element too much)

Well, usually you do what you say, but the gm does a roll, but, in that situation, it would have been kind of hard to since you whee hiding from us, so oh wells lol.

Yep, confusing stuff so I don't know. But yes no priestess... Though a cleric would be nice. Hmm guess prometheus, is the magical healing man.

I'm leaving stealth rolls to the thief. I still control rolls for the attempts on backstab, disarm, unlock, steal etc.
As for the ranger learning stealth....
I suppose IF and ONLY IF, you two spend a LOT of time together (working, fighting etc.) then you can pick up a lesser form of "Hide in Shadows".
This would be the only cross-class exception I plan on making, due to the fact that in most D&D rulings, rangers can "Hide in Shadows". This won't mean that Laren will be able to pick pockets, locks or traps or backstab though. It will just give a chance to go undetected.

Fine by me, just as long as I get a crit bonus for undetected Bow+Arrow attacks.
