The Artist ----Company: Kata, Vincent
╔══════════════╗
She smiled, honestly caught by surprise at Kata's answer. She seemed smart, but, Fray didn't think she -enjoyed- learning. Well, we learn something new everyday. She looked to Vince next, and smiled wider when he responded with science. It made sense. He reminded her of Einstein almost. Misunderstood, but a genious. It worked. She purposefully skipped over Sasha, ignoring what she would have to say. She already new the answer, she just didn't want to hear her voice. The obnoxious, 'I'm better than you, so shut it' voice ws enough to make want to pull a Kata-move and deck her in the face.
When the attention was turned to her, she smiled, looking down to her sketch book shyly. "Obviously art... and... An outdoors class of any kind." She looked up at the surprised faces around her. Smiling even more shyly, she shrugged. "I like being outside... Espescially in a thunder storm... She shuddered, her eyes closing. She shook her head, ignoring that embarassing confession. Looking around, she began wondering when they could leave. The room was almost empty, and she didn't want to sit much longer.
[[GAH, SHORT. Sorry, Uber tired.]]

♛♕ ℳąℜҡ ♕♛ that boy is a ℳϴℕⓈϮЄℜ..... Mark stood and motioned them. "We can take a walk around". He scooped up their dishes, dropped them off, and made his way back. There were still some groups of students in the dining hall, some of them he didn't recognize. Assuming they were also new, he looked back at Christian and Asp.
He led the two outside from the back door. The huge stone wall stood in front of them. "You're not to leave campus after dark. If you do, you'll get locked out, and expect to spend the night outside". He continued around the building and led them North across campus on the cobblestone path. He toured them in a loop. He pointed to a large German-style house, much too huge to be a home. "That's the Studio, it's always open. Art classes there." He continued across the huge lawn. "Further North is where the Professors live. You can't get anywhere but the main foyer, but you can leave messages for Professors there." "That's the Outfitter's" he said, turning his attention back to the East of campus, "they're closed on Saturdays. But they've got everything you might need to buy. Medicine, snacks, supplies etcetera. Beyond it is the Observatory, but don't mess around in there, or the prim Miss Emily will have you at the throat." He smiled, he did like Emily Caswell, she was a stellar professor, and showed him the cosmos as he'd never seen them before. Although he didn't take her class, he'd run into her a few times, and liked talking to her on a personal level.
He resumed the tour, pointing to his dorm. "That's Soare. My dorm. It's the place of the Sun, whereas Lunare is the place of the Moon. Completely different inside. You might want to check it out before you decide which you want to call home. Past it is the Cathedral, it's always open, for anyone of any faith. Across from it is the library. Three floors of books. If you don't mind spending the day in there, you can find some amazing stuff. Last place is the Trading Post. It's kind of a crappy building compared to the rest of the architecture, but it's got character. It's all second-hand. There's some interesting things inside. And if you have anything you want to sell, that's the place to do it. The clocktower and Forum are pretty simple. And there's the main gate".
Mark gestured toward the huge iron gate. It attached on the sides to the ten foot tall stone wall that enclosed the campus with enormous bolts, standing another two feet above them. The black iron was shiny, as if it was cast the day before. "And that's all of it. Outside campus is a lot more exciting, but don't go out alone. You might think you've got control of yourself, but when a bull elk kicks you square in the chest, think again". Mark looked at the faces of the two with him, hoping they'd think it was just a precaution and not a past experience.
The truth was that it had happened to him. He'd ventured out after only his first Shapeshifting class and got pretty busted up by a bull elk, unable to control his transformation. He scratched his jaw where it was once broken, remembering the fiery pain that'd followed the crunch. "Anything else you want to see?" he asked. It was a lot to take in, but the two didn't look concerned. He tried to smile. It was a little difficult for him. His face always seemed to adopt the stoic look his father had taught him to use while speaking to potential clients. "I've got all day, and no homework, for once".

Amaguq, more commonly know as Professor Aningan to his students and as Tika to his peers, trotted along, enjoying the weekend as an art professor should. He had taken the form of wolf, his favorite form out of all of them. He was a white wolf, and a large on at that. The selective breeding of his tribe had produced the ultimate defender, but as he was born after the time his Inuit tribe needed protectors, his “skill” was less than needed.
Tika had been here for quite a while now, just how long he could not remember, one of the side effects of being in his favorite form. He was working out the kinks such as the memory loss and odd behavior whilst human and he was improving. Unfortunately, because he had used this form before attending at blackthorn, much of his past is still a mystery to him. He rarely worried about that though.
Tika was doing his usual Saturday routine, patrolling the perimeter of the academy, inside, and then out. As he leisured along, he took in the warmth of the sunlight that made his snow white fur glisten. He stopped for a moment, lifting his maw to the sky, and gave a great sniff. The air was filled with the delicious smell of roasting meat. He had already eaten, but he still savored the smell. Smells like home. Tika’s mouth twisted into a wolf’s smile and he picked up the pace, continuing on his self inflicted duty.
There were many new faces about. Hopefully some would be interested in the arts and take his class. As he sauntered along, he came across two new females, one with unnaturally bright hair and one with short brown hair with a hint of red in it. They were chatting, one holding a red apple. She was addressing the one with the bright red hair, who Tika had mentally named Strawberry. He continued on his way and soon came across another group of pups being led by a student Tika recognized as Mark. He was leading the pups around the campus, giving them a grand tour. Tika nodded in a proud admiration and in greeting as he passed them.
Soon, Tika found himself at the doors to the Lunare feasting hall. It was bustling with conversation and laughter, one person’s laughter in particular. It was a familiar high pitched laugh one could hear anywhere this person was found, for she was always laughing. Ah, Rosa. She had only been at the academy of a month but she had made an impression on Tika. Movement caught his attention and he flicked his amber eyes to a blond haired pup making her way to Rosa with cold determination. Tika tilted his head in interest and confusion. What’s this now? One of his art students was leaving the hall and greeted him, “Good day Professor Ani’,” and passed him by. Tika turned his fury head and took hold of the student’s shirt, careful not to bite his skin. When he had the man’s attention, he nodded pointedly at the blond. The student looked and shrugged, “I dunno teach, must have somethin’ against laughter or something.” He bade Tika farewell and left. Tika sat himself down just inside the door and off to the side to watch this new development in his day unfold.

Don't you bring your sadness down on me. ____________________________________________ Rosa laughed at another story told by one of her friends at the table. She laughed the most at real life stories; jokes never got a strong reaction out of her. Truth is stranger than fiction, as they say. The group had been telling stories of some of the funnier Casanova Twins' escapades. Like how Jason or Gael would flip if someone touched one of their instruments. Or when the brothers would be playing their instruments and they would fight to play the last note of music. Or that magical day Jason had convinced a crowd he could levitate without even attempting to do so. Jason had always been the least serious, thus the funnier of the two brothers. That is probably one of the reasons Rosa had become such good friends with him: he didn't care. The other girls at the table with her loved to hear and tell stories about Jason only because they wanted him for reasons different from Rosa's; Rosa only thought of Jason as a friend, someone who had her sense of humor. She would never think to fall in love with a man.
She immediately finished up with one of Jason's famous quotes: "If you didn't know better, you might think I'm drunk. I am...but not on alcohol." Once Rosa had finished her laughing at that statement, she noticed a blonde girl approaching the table. If she didn't look so horrifyingly cold and bitter, Rosa would have thought her to be her "kind of girl." But she was on a mission it seemed, glaring at Rosa for some reason. "Why, hello there, pretty lady," Rosa greeted her with a wide grin. "What can I do you for?" ____________________________________________

Sasha moved across the dinning hall and away from Kata and the others. As she did so she heard more laughter from the table she was moving to, but then the girl turned around and looked at her. Sasha stopped before the table with her arms crossed while looking at them all. She was going to go over there and have a word with them about the annoying amount of noise they were producing, but that little thought crept into her mind again. It wasn't there at first, but Sasha's eyes closed as she tried to come up with the words. The thought told her to be nice...something she didn't do to new people. It aggravated her and broke her concentration and the cold look she had, and to make matters worse the short girl she had come to scold turned around and addressed her first. With a sigh Sasha shook her head and smiled a bit as she spoke up. She was going to be nice...maybe it would pay off. After all there was a first time for everything.
"I was just wondering if you all could try to keep it down a little. My frien....a few of the newer student's and myself were talking and could hardly hear over you and your group. I figured it would be best to let you know that we feel it is sort of rude, well I feel that way. Sorry to bother you though."
Sasha's instincts were yelling at her for being soft and also for almost calling the other group her friends. She had no friends, she hardly knew the other group and she had no idea if they considered her a friend. One thing was for sure though. That Fraya girl disliked Sasha and Sasha as usual didn't care about it. Sasha stood there waiting for a response as she brushed her hair out of her eyes with her left hand. Her thunder had died down at this point, and she was fighting not to walk away from the table right away. She felt vulnerable in a way, she hadn't attacked first so her first reaction was to prepare herself to be yelled or laughed at.

And just like the 100th post, the 200th is mine! Don't you bring your sadness down on me. ____________________________________________ At the mention of new students, Rosa craned her neck to look towards the group she was talking about. The thought of newbies intrigued her--she had heard rumors flying around the Cafe since breakfast about a few new ones. She immediately spotted the girl who had decked Jason across the face with two others: Orange Hair and Blue Eyes, Rosa dubbed them in her head. Anyone as daring as that Jason Decker deserves respect--especially when Jason had it coming.
"Too loud?" Rosa flicked her hazel-green eyes back up to the blonde. "Gah! I can get carried away. Sorry. We're about to leave anyways." The table had already been cleared, besides a napkin here and a drink bottle there. Rosa grabbed her bag, her knitting needles peering out of the top, and began to rise from her seat. She noted Professor Ani by the door; his white fur and sheer mass was hard to miss.
Upon standing, the height difference between Rosa and everyone else was also hard to miss. There was a significant amount of difference between her and the blonde (eight inches to be exact). She looked up at the blonde, finally recognizing her. She didn't know her name, but she'd seen her around campus before, always with a cold look on her face--a grouch. But that little smile on her face made a world of a difference. Rosa smiled back at the girl, feeling her Monroe piercing against her gums. "You should smile more--you look prettier when you do." She walked away before the blonde could respond. ____________________________________________

Sasha would realize that it was a good thing she tried to be nice. The girl and her friends didn't realize how loud they were. They must have just been having a good time. Sasha exhaled as she relaxed a little bit from not having to worry about the girl responding how she had expected her to do so. The kind words to come next caught Sasha off guards and made her shake her head and blink a few time. Before she could answer the short girl had already left. Sasha stomped her foot and mumbled out loud to herself.
"The heck was that about...pretty...didn't even gime me her name. I'm no good at this kind thing!"
Sasha yelled at herself with only a few people close by that could hear it. She would turn and ignore the urge to follow the girl. Instead Sasha would return across the room spotting the teacher and giving a bow of her head to the teacher as she made it back to the table her stuff was at. She looked at Fraya and caught the sense of distaste in her eyes. Sasha sighed and spoke up to Kata first.
"Kata, I will see you around. I feel I have already overstayed my welcome." She would look at Vincent and smile at him before picking her stuff up and waving to Kata and Vincent. As Sasha got up and left she passed Fraya and said out lout to the girl.
"Don't judge me until you know me..."
With that she was gone and on her way outside. She would exit the place and find herself going to be alone for a while so she could sit down and think. She needed to clear her head since she had actually smiled back there and it had made her feel weird to be polite and kind. She went to a nearby tree and sat down with her book. Sasha would begin to flip the pages absentmindedly as she was caught up in her own thoughts.

xxxxxxx________ Abel Chou ________xxxxxxxxx A young women slowly approached the school. Her eyes were closed, her right hand holding a black suit case. On her back was a back pack. She walked silently, her black hair covering on of her eyes. She wore black jeans and a long sleeved black shirt. A red pattern ran along the shirt. She opened the gate to the school and slowly walked in. She took out a piece of paper, her eyes opening. A stunning yellow showed, her pupils as slits like cat eyes. She stared down at it and read off the dorm she would stay in. Moon Dorm. She slowly headed towards what the best description on the paper to be...
The girls name was Abel Chou. She was a new student at Blackthorn Academy and was a little apprehensive... Abel walked into the big building and ignored anyone inside of it. She walked up the stairs with her things until she came towards her room. She unlocked the door with the key she was given, that was tied to her wrist, and walked in, throwing down her things. Her heart swelled with curiosity. She put a few things away before she quickly ran out the door, locking it and looked around. So much to explore! But, hey... Keep your cool...', she reminded herself...
Abel traveled out and down the hall, looking down at her paper. Classes? Right... This was a school. She walked outside and took in the cool air. She looked down at the paper again... Where were her classes?... She gulped and glanced up then down... Wonderful... Lost on the first day... Abel slowly headed for the Studio for classes... Studio Art seemed fun... She kept walking silently, slowly pushing her hands into her pockets. She closed her odd eyes and hummed softly...

Tika watched as the blond student whose name escaped him spoke with the smiling Rosa. Her cold blue eyes were had the same intensity, but the girl seemed to loosen up a bit. He nodded when Rosa looked his way and gave his wolfish smile when the matter seemed to be resolved. He stood, shook out his fur and exited, slightly disappointed at the dull events but relived at the same time that nothing got out of hand.
Tika resumed his patrol and noticed yet another new pup. She had her hands in her pockets and seemed at ease. So many new faces, I wonder how many will take my class. He watched this dark haired woman for a time, and then turned toward the main gate to start his outside patrol, his favorite part.
The forest was cold in the shade of the trees, but when the sun peeked through and settled itself on his fur, the warmth radiated through the strands and into his body. The smell of the kitchens still lingered, but was overshadowed by the smell of the moist moss on the trees and rocks. The wind, when it blew, had a chilling bite to it, saying that winter would soon be here, but not quite yet. Tika desperately wanted to visit the lake, but there were new students about, and therefore a need to prepare for Monday. Besides, whatever student with the love for art just might want to spend some of their free time in his classroom. It was a nice place to relax and let inspiration set in and any materials an artist might need was always close by. In fact, he felt an urge to work on a new project himself. Tika finished up his patrol and headed to his rooms to change.

Don't you bring your sadness down on me. ____________________________________________ Rosa parted with her group of friends outside the main entrance of the Lunare, claiming to need to visit the Studio for some more beads. In reality, Rosa did most of her work with jewelry in the Studio. She hated taking more than she needed back with her to her room and she hated not having as many options in case she changed her mind mid-project. As she began to make her short trek to the Studio, she reached into her jeans' pocket to pull out her lighter and into the outside pocket of her bag to pull out her pack of Lucky Strikes. Rosa would stifle a giggle at the aghast faces of her taller fellow students, sure that they were thinking she was only a teenager and that teenagers shouldn't be smoking.
The distance between the Lunare and the Studio was not enough to finish a full cigarette, so Rosa stopped outside the main doors to finish the last bit of it. As she knelt down to put out the cigarette on the pavement, she noticed someone new coming to the Studio. She was clad in black with short dark hair. She looks short. Rosa rose back up, trying to hide a disappointed look on her face. There was at least four inches in difference between them. Not short enough... Rosa tried to look on the bright side: Maybe I'm bigger as a werewolf!
Rosa quickly jumped to open the door for the newcomer. "Hi! You new?" She followed the girl inside, flicking her cigarette butt into the trashcan outside the door. She grinned at having aimed perfectly: the butt went straight into the bin. ____________________________________________

xxxxxxx________ Abel Chou ________xxxxxxxxx Abel was lost in her own world. She had still been walking to the studio, hearing voices far away. She had her eyes closed still, not minding the lack of sense... Her mind was thinking of running through the forest and being free... But to control her werewolf side was hard... She Though as the pungent smell of cigarette smoke hit her nostrils, her nose crinkled. She stopped for a split second before continuing. Awful... Fowl... Yet for some reason she kept wanting to follow it to find the man or women in the right mind to smoke on school grounds... She kept her head on the Studio, trying not to loose focus. She closed her eyes again and kept walking silently.
A chill ran up her spine as she felt the horrible feeling that someone was watching her... And before she knew it, her hand reaching out for the Studio's door, a women had opened the door faster. Her yellow eyes flashed open and grew wide. She stared as she walked in, the women following and flicking her cigarette bid away... Abel blushed lightly, seeing her grin. She looked down, holding her arm... Abel stayed silent. "U-um... Yeah... I-I'm new...", her lips let out. Abel's voice was small and shy like. She looked at the girl. Abel blushed a little more and quickly looked away, her yellow eyes averting the women's beautiful greenish ones...

Don't you bring your sadness down on me. ____________________________________________ Rosa fell in step beside the newcomer. "I thought I hadn't seen you around here before!" Rosa clutched her bag next to her as she tried to keep up with the length of the girl's strides. It was always difficult, no matter the size of the person; Rosa's legs were just too darn short. "So, what? Are you just havin' a little look-see at the Studio? Interested in the art classes? You should take one. You can learn a lot."
As Rosa began to ramble, the two of them passed by the displays of art placed around the main entrance hall. There were sculptures, beadings, paintings, drawings, all sorts of magical creations from students of the current year. Rosa took Studio Art, even though she was horrible at drawing. She enjoyed the creativity involved. What she was most interested in was pottery and sculpting; the latter she was, again, bad at. Her real talent, the jewelry making, sewing, and knitting, weren't going to be covered in the entry level course. She had seen some of the older students' work with beading and embroidery and her jaw would drop each time. Especially with that one older girl who made dolls.
Rosa looked up at the girl, noting for the first time her eyes. Golden? That's so unreal... But she kept her thoughts to herself, even if her facial expression gave away her awe. "Name's Rosa." She didn't ask for the girl's name out right, but still expected to learn it. ____________________________________________

xxxxxxx________ Abel Chou ________xxxxxxxxx Abel held onto her brow bag, that had feathers attached to it, also as the energetic girl claimed that she should take am art class. "Y-yeah... I like to u-um make art and play music...", she whispered and kept walking. She glanced at the girl trying to keep up and slowed her pace so she could. "... I came to g-get a class in music and art...", Abel mentioned to answer one of the girl's many questions. She noticed the art pieces, amazed by the talent. She blinked and glanced to the... She noticed her small state of awe. Why was she staring at her like that? In her eyes, so intensely... She sighed softly and kept walking silently.
Abel kept looking to the art, her eyes studying them carefully. Her cat slit pupils narrowed lightly as she looked over a few paintings and framed drawings. Amazing... Pure art. She would never be that good... Abel kept walking, hearing the girl say her name... Rosa... She liked that name. Abel smiled. "Abel Chou.", she whispered in return. She stopped at a sculpture of a man. He was staring up at the spot light that rained down on him, his eye piercing and fierce of a Lycan... She blinked slowly and looked to Rosa.
"Tell me, Rosa...", she whispered in her shy voice. "... How long have you been at this school?..."

Kent was walking out of his room where he had finished tuning his guitar. He left the instrument on the stand he had for it as he locked the door behind him. He was dressed in his workout clothes as usual. He only dressed up when he wanted to impress. Kent had been here for some time now and was used to most everyone on campus that were older residents. But the scent of fresh blood and new pickin's was pulling him to go look around. Kent shook his head and snorted out the air as he took off running down the steps and outside. He was just running, but his running was an extremely sprint to most. It looked like he was enjoying himself as it would be. His eyes shown with a determination of someone who was out to get everything he could out of life. Young and headstrong but kind and understanding, that was Kent in a way.
"It's a nice day to get out...bet I'll get to see some new girls while I'm at it anyway."
Kent figured anyone he knew would be either back at the rooms or doing work as usual. Kent was going to run laps from Lunare to the Library and back. He was already well on his way to the library and was straying off the path some to keep from bumping into anyone. He made almost no sound as he ran. Kent's breaths being the loudest thing about him. For someone of his size to tread so lightly was strange to say the least. Kent looked like one of those sports playing boys. Like the guy that was on every sports team in high school that he was allowed to be on. It was a betraying feature, but it wasn't wholly wrong.
