Tsu grinned and set the Quincy down before walking up to Isaac. "So, you think you can, do you?" Tsu brought his face just inches away from the Captain's. "Prove it. There's a reason I'm in squad eleven. If you think you can keep up, I'd love to see you try. One thing you best keep in mind, Captain. I'm a hell of a lot stronger than just fourth seat. The Lieutenant's seat was full, and I'm not going to take a seat from someone I fight along side. True, I'm not up for a Captain's seat because I don't have a Bankai." Tsu's grin grew wider. "Would you like to know why I don't have a Bankai? We in squad eleven see all that as cheating so we don't work on it. I use my blade and my fists." Tsu turned, showing his back to Isaac. He took a few steps and a laugh escaped him. "The best part is even without trying, I can already manifest my Zanpakuto at will. I could get there if I truly wanted to, but I'm content in squad eleven. I'm not interested in being in any other squad. That's why I turned down Captain Ukitake's offer for Lieutenant." Tsu turned to look back at Isaac. "Do you really think you can beat me so easily?"

Hikari's eyes widened. "No, Tsu-kun, Isaac-taicho, please!" She watched the exchange between the two of them, trembling.
Watching the two of them silently up until this point, Hitsugaya stepped forward and unsheathed Hyourinmaru, seperating the two with his zanpakuto. "As ranked officers, you both should know better than to draw your zanpakuto here of all places," he said icily. "If you both want to kill each other, fine. But take it out of here."
"Hitsugaya-sama!" Hikari cried out in alarm. He wasn't going to truly allow this, was he?
"Misuzu, stay out of this," Hitsugaya warned, his voice low.
"No, if something's going to happen, I need to be there! I need to make sure that nothing happens..." She looked helplessly to Tsu. Hikari hated fighting. But she knew that Tsu loved it. "Please, just let me be there to help the injured..."
Sighing, Hitsugaya sent a hell butterfly out for Matsumoto. "Fine. I've sent for Matsumoto to temporarily watch over the girl. Misuzu, you may come with, but you must not interfere. It is not our place. As for you both," he started, "it's your decision what happens from here on out. Hopefully you won't regret it in the future." He stood and waited for what either had to say.
Hikari stood and approached the three, coming to stand right behind the 10th captain, worry evident on her face.

Tsu took Hoshokusha from Hikari and grinned at Isaac's words. "Don't tell me you're afraid, Isaac. After what you boasted, I couldn't allow you to walk away. My Captain would kill me, and I'm not in the least bit joking."
Silently, Tsu spoke to Hoshokusha. You ready for a good fight?
Tsu could feel the hilt of his Zanpakuto grow warm in his grasp as Hoshokusha responded. 'You know I'm always ready for a fight. The question is, are you? He is a Captain after all.'
So? Don't tell me after all we've been through, you doubt I can win.
Hoshokusha sighed. 'It's not that. It's just... do you think that's smart? Making an enemy of a Captain. Don't you have enough problems with just Hitsugaya?'
Him? Just because I can't stand him, doesn't mean that we're enemies. Hitsugaya, I can avoid when I need to. This guy? I might need to show him that he needs to back off.
'If you're sure...'
I am.

Tsu grinned a bit as he held Hoshokusha in front of him. "Hitsu-..." Tsu cleared his throat. "Captain Hitsugaya. You're a third party. You pick the battle ground. And since you're Captain rank, I ask you to be the witness."

The 10th captain's eyes hardened, but he nodded. "Why not the training ground? After all, you all seem to be familiar with that area. It is a good place to fight unrestricted. There are no buildings nearby. I should think it to be an excellent area to have your match."
At the captain's words, Hikari clenched her fists and bit her lip. She had hoped that Hitsugaya would decline, but deep down she knew that as a captain, he had to accept. She hung her head in resignation but said nothing.
"Taicho!" Matsumoto called. She appeared using Shunpo. "You needed me for something here?"
"Yes. Misuzu would like to watch a battle alongside me between these two, and we need you to watch over that girl. Call for Squad 4 should anything unusual occur. Can I count on you, Matsumoto?"
"Of course, Taicho!" She smiled gently at Hikari. "Misuzu-chan, you look so worried! Settle down, it's only a tiny battle."
The girl looked up and smiled waveringly, trying to say something, but nothing would come.
"It will be okay." Matsumoto smiled reassuringly once again.
"If everyone has no objections, we will be waiting for you in the training grounds. Come when prepared. Misuzu, follow me."
Hikari obeyed silently. She used shunpo but found that Hitsugaya was still faster than she was. She continued on, and finally when she reached the training grounds, she found that the silver-haired captain was waiting for her.
He stood there with folded arms. "You don't have to watch this, you know."
Her blue eyes widened, and she looked up at him. "Hitsugaya-sama, of course I do! What if something happens to either of them!"
"That's why I'm here."
"But it's a fight to the death!" She cried, tears trailing down her cheeks. "And you just allowed it-"
"Maruchinu knows this as well," Hitsugaya cut her off. "He accepts it, Misuzu, and it's time you did the same. Dry those tears," he said coldly, "if you want to remain here."
Hikari said nothing else, and lowered her head, hair hiding her face and was silent, waiting for the two fueding shinigami to make their appearance. She clasped her hands over her heart, unwittingly showing her negative feelings to the captain beside her.
Hikari... Hikari... Please don't be so sad.
"Keikoku! I can't help it! Please... take me away from here..." Hikari was begging her zanpakuto.
All that could be heard was the sound of Keikoku chuckling. Hikari, I'm sorry, but you know, that in the end, sometimes, there is no choice but to fight. I know you hate it, but that is the sacrifice you must make. But I'll stay right here, by your side.
"I lost my family that day..." Hikari whispered, more to herself than to Keikoku. "Tsu-kun, if you die... it'll be the end of me, I swear..."
She didn't realize it, but Hitsugaya had heard her. Anger swelled inside of him, but he forced it down. He hoped that the two fighters realized eventually that this was hurting their friend. He doubted it. He made a note to himself that if Tsu were to be killed in this fight, he would be keeping a very close eye on Hikari, to make sure she didn't lose control of herself.

Rage built in Tsu until he's ready to explode. NO ONE TOUCHES HIKARI! Using Flash Step, he arrived at the training ground just seconds after Isaac. Before anyone could even register that Tsu had arrived, Hoshokusha vanished, being replaced by her Shikai form. Tsu's claws sprang out of their housing to their full length of around thirty inches as he dashed toward Isaac with a bloodthirsty roar. The edges of Hoshokusha began to glow crimson as their temp raised to well over one thousand degrees. His now blood red eyes locked onto his target as he moved in to strike. "ISAAC! YOU'RE DEAD!" Tsu began to slash and jab at his opponent, every swing faster and faster than the one before until his movements were blur, too fast for most to see.

The girl stood there in shock for a moment after Isaac had kissed her on the cheek. Numbly she reached a hand up and touched where he had kissed her and sank to her knees, only vaguely hearing the silver-haired captain clear his throat nervously at the exchange.
The familiar raging and bloodthirsty reiatsu coming from Tsu knocked Hikari out of her daze. It was true, she cared about her friend, and normally felt safe and protected around him, but she'd only seen him get like this once or twice before. And when that happened, that safe and warm feeling vanished. Hikari was terrified of Tsu when he was like this. At times, she wondered if he would hurt her. "H-Hitsugaya...sama..."
Not taking his eyes off the fight, Hitsugaya could still sense that the girl was frightened and trembling. He stepped closer to her, taking a protective stance beside her, placing a calming hand on her shoulder. His other hand grasped Hyourinmaru's hilt, being ready to pull his zanpakuto if need be. Hikari was in no shape to fight, and even if she was, he knew that her fighting and endurance were incredibly low. If something were to go wrong, someone would have to protect her. He knew that Isaac was most likely going to pull through those attacks. He was a captain after all. And he most certainly wouldn't be attacking anyone else. But Tsurabisu on the other hand... he'd never seen release his shikai, and... he looked almost like a berserker. Ready to kill anyone who got in his way... Hitsugaya glanced down at Hikari. He inwardly cursed. Even attack Hikari. His eyes immediately turned back to the fray. "It'll be okay, Misuzu," he murmured, feeling her tremble. There is no way she could stand up to Maruchinu in the state he is in now. He would kill her for sure. It looks like I'm going to have to be extra cautious and keep Misuzu out of the way. And protect her if worse comes to worse.
Hikari was now afraid for Isaac's life. That is, until he went bankai. "Why... Hitsugaya-sama...? Why does someone have to die?" She asked weakly.
"Because that's what a fight to the death is, Misuzu," he explained evenly.

Isaac grits his teeth at the head blow, and he frees his claws from Tsu's. He round house kicks Tsu in the chest, sending Isaac going backwards. He breathes in deeply, and takes a stance, palm out, other hand grasping the wrist.
"Hado, number 31!" He coughs, and begins the incantation. "Ye lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Inferno and pandemonium, the sea barrier surges, march on to the south!" As the ball of red energy charges up, he screams a word. "Shakkaho!" The orb of red energy flies at Tsu, nailing him in the chest.

Hikari ignored the captain beside her and pushed Keikoku a little further, this time calling to Isaac's zanpakuto. GouzenShishi, please, hear me.

Hikari's spirit pressure continued to spike. Hitsugaya's brow furrowed. "Wait a minute... Misuzu, stop!" Hikari was dangerously close, he could feel it, to manifesting her bankai. But with her being so upset and emotional right now, it wouldn't be good. Especially with the other two nearby and fighting. Hitsugaya wasn't certain what her bankai could do exactly. The only thing he did know was that if Hikari was scared of it, and didn't have control over it, it probably wasn't a good idea for her to unleash it in her frantic state of mind.
