Keri bit her lip and sat still for a few moments. This stranger, Strider, he'd been nice to her though she was a drow. She dropped her chin on her closed fists. She hadn't met any person like him. Well, maybe the wolftaur and the girl, they had been nice to her too. She finished her food and went off to find a store, deciding to find Strider again after she replenished her supplies. Finding a cave wouldn't be that hard, it was getting close to evening time anyway, and she'd be able to walk in the dark easily.
((I still have my second charrie sleeping, so I want it to be nighttime soon.))

((thats ok =3))
-Strider walked up a few hills and found his cave. He entered and found the wood he had prepared in the morning before he left. He shot lightning at it setting it alight instantly. He found the log he had been useing as a bench and sat on it watching the fire- "Home, cave, home I guess."

Keri was able to navigate her way around the town easily enough to the shady shop crowded between two houses. She pushed the door open and cold air greeted her, along with a damp smell. Yes, places like these were where she could sell things for money. The shopkeeper had obviously dealt with creepy customers, eying her with surprise. But when she dropped a thick crystal vial with purplish liquid in it, he immediately started to get out a pouch. When he offered less than what she expected, she started to take the vial away until he just gave her he whole thing. She left the shop and figured out how to barter for supplies in this particular town. Soon her pack was nice and full.

Now Strider had brought out a small wooden pipe with strange markings on it and smoked from it. He blew several things with the smoke. He made a man that danced and a woman for the man and puffed rings around the fire that changed from red, to green, then to blue and he had a little fun by making a ship fly through a small smoke ring he had made. "Ahhh. Now this is peaceful."

((Gandalf!))
Keri hoisted her pack on a shoulder, glancing towards the restaurant from earlier. She remembered that Strider had taken a right after leaving, so that meant he had went east. There were mountains behind the town and his cave must have been there. She went out of the town, glad that she was away from all of the crowds of people. A small path led through the forest towards the mountains, and she followed it uphill, sticking to the shadows.

((Yup...Strider is a younger Gandalf don't you think? =3))
Strider sat up stiff and smote out his fire and puffed away all the smoke. He drew his staff and crept into the shadow of the cave. Cautious of anyone coming.

((Kinda, he has a staff to boot.))
Keri smelled the smoke of a fire when the wind blew, and knew that it was either Strider or someone else. She walked uphill for a bit more before the trees opened to a small cave, the already put out remains of the fire on the ground. Her heat-sensing eyes told her that it was probably 5 minutes old. She looked into the darkened cave, squinting past the sun's glare to see a dull reddish form near the back. "Are you...expecting someone?" She called out, a little saddened of Strider's defensive posture. "I will leave then." She turned to go back the way she came.

((Hey have you ever noticed that i've never told you what Strider's staff looks like? Tell me what do you think it looks like?))
"Oh, Keri. I'm sorry I thought you might be some nasty bear coming to reclaim it's cave. Come in, come in." Strider relit the fire with a bolt of fire from his staff and sat down on his log relighting his pipe and puffing it. "Come take a seat."

((Eh, I never really thought of it. I'm thinking it's either polished and simple, or like a gnarled tree limb. I'ma boot my bro off the 360 now for a while, I think.))
Keri turned back around and looked for a seat. Then she sat on the ground, a little ways away from the newly lit fire. It still hurt her eyes. "You would hear a bear if it was coming for it's cave, correct?" She asked Strider. "Bears are not silent, if I'm right."
Gygax stirred when the light in the cave he was occupying grew dimmer. The sun was setting, he guessed. Oh, how he hated the orb of light in the sky. That was why he preferred to move in the not so bright dark. The stars above still remained as beacons above, but they were bearable.

((Well I always saw Strider's staff as a polished red wood staff and at the top are two wolfs twisted into a spiral and in their mouth's they both carry a single round red crystal.))
Strider laughed. "It seems you've sen through my hoax. No to tell you the truth I was expecting a monster. One of the minions of the unknown evil haunting the land. They hunt me endlessly. For what purpose I dont know." Strider tapped the end of his staff on the ground in frustation and the red stone flashed for a moment and the fire grew brighter for a moment.

((Wolfies are awesome. =D Oh, I just looked at the first page of this and saw that Mikalriss is open for anyone who wants to be him. Are you interested, or can I?))
Keri nodded sympathetically. Being hunted by someone, or something, was no fun. "Even a monster would make noise, though. Unless it were silent, of course." She started to go silent again, until she remembered that Strider had said "unknown evil". "What do you mean by unknown evil? I always thought that on the surface there would be those like my people, of course. That's not unlikely."
Having become bored of lying in the very back of the cave, waiting for the setting sun to go completely down, Gygax sat up with his cloak pressed against his eyes. It was still too bright, he decided, to open them. He propped his back against the rock behind him and thought of why he'd come to the surface in the first place. His sister was the whole reason. And since recently he'd heard of a being called Mikalriss, he figured he'd find this being and recruit his help in his search.

((I know right =D Nah i'll take him. i have onl one charie at the time so it'll be fine.))
Strider looked at her. He didn't really want to explain to her his real situation but he couldn't say no. "Well this 'unknown evil' has a name. His name is Mikalriss. He is a demon lord in control of thousands of minions across the surface and underground. They hunt me endlessly and would kill me if had the chance and thus we come to the difficult part: why hunt a worthless traveler like myself? Unlike I told you earlier I do know why he hunts me. I also lied to you about the nature of myself. First off lets start with the simpler explanation. Mikalriss is hunting me for the sole purpose of revenge. Near the end of the third great age of this world, which counting backwards from this age would be 21 ages of the world past, I killed the last great ruler of the demon kind and Mikalriss was her son. So for that sole purpose he took power sometime in the 12th age and has hunted me since." Strider took a long pause to puff on his pipe. "Now I bet your asking yourself, 'How does a normal traveler have lived for 2100 years?', and as such here is the more complicated explanation." Another pause to puff. "I of course am no mere traveler and nor am I a mere mage. I am what you could call a god, and yes though there are minor gods that people pray to and preach about now-a-days, they are not like me. I, my young drow friend, am a High God. One of the Seven in fact. Though I am the last. All the other passed from memory and thus from existance. If you wish I shall tell you about the Seven though I expect you'd be here awhile. It is not a short tale." Strider puffed his pipe and stared into the fire as if remembering older days.

((Kk, my other charrie's going to be lookin' for him.))
"I've heard of this Mikalriss from some people, but I never knew what the real situation was." Keri said thoughtfully, shifting to sit cross-legged on the cave floor. "You do not have to tell me if you do not wish to. You've already told me much about yourself, though we met only a short while ago. You know nothing about me. Are you so quick to share with a stranger?"
Who was this Mikalriss? Gygax asked himself for the first time. His very name seemed to strike fear in all the people he met. One mention of it brought a bounty hunter to his knees. He frowned, laying his head back against the rock. This being must be very powerful for his name only to have that effect.

"Oh I know more then I lead on to but at the moment let it be said that I trust you more then I trust your brother." Strider sat up some. "Now where to begin? Let's see...ah, I know. Have you ever heard the story of how the universe began?"

Keri nodded, temporarily satisfied with Strider's current explanation. The truth would be revealed soon enough, she figured. Including the fact that he knew she had a brother. "No, I cannot say that I have." She replied, curious of Strider's sudden eagerness with this subject. "I have only heard of stories of my peoples'...minor god, as you put it."
Gygax let out a growl of frustration from between his teeth. The light outside had faded enough for him to bear it until the tiny bright stars appeared, and the moon. He stood and brushed the dirt on open front robe off. Then he gathered his already packed things and squinted hard as he stepped out of the cave, feeling the cooling twilight air on his dark skin. Soon, he had disappeared into the forest.
