[5/10] After School -> [5/10] Evening

The day slowly turns into night, and as the town continues to fall deeper into the darkness there are those who refuse to give in and fight against the growing threats. But for every victory there is an equally staggering defeat; how long before their strength fades, their wills break, and evil reigns supreme?

How long before Tartarus crosses over into the Realm of the Real and the End comes for all?

Time marches on...

Inaba Evening News...the Announcer reads off the top stories as per the usual, then hands the broadcast off to a 'Special Guest'. The camera pans...

...An absurdly handsome and alluring young man with dark hair and gorgeous green eyes stares into the camera with a devilish smirk upon his lips. A theme song plays mysteriously in the background, and when he speaks his voice is deep and sensual. Everything about the man is almost frighteningly enchanting...and yet you can't seem to look away, even when you know it.

Duke Devlin, The King of Games (3-1) (Theme)

"Good evening, people of Inaba...I'm Duke Devlin, and tonight I want to totally invite all of you faithful citizens who believe in the good people of the Nanjou Group to an important rally to show your support to those who are fighting against evil in this town," he introduced himself and his purpose with a practiced ease, smiling and turning to the side, eyes remaining fixated on the camera (almost as if he were simply posing as he spoke), "The Nanjou have gone to great pains to keep the people of this town safe, but kind of safe is totally not good enough for them. So tonight, atop your local Junes building, Hei Nanjou is holding an event to take the protection of the people of this town to the next level. Come out and bear witness to the lengths the Nanjou will go in order to keep you safe...oh, and bring your COMP-Stations with you. After all, Hei Nanjou is full of surprises."

Duke winks at the camera and the camera suddenly pans up swiftly...shouting can be heard, as if the cameraman had suddenly fainted. The broadcast goes to a commercial...

[5/10] Evening -> [5/10] Late Night

Time marches on in Inaba as the town descends even further into chaos. Gangs begin to spring up around town in a response to the madness and a mob mentality starts to seep into the minds of those who are still alive and well despite the strange circumstances. The Shomonkai of the Nanjou Group hold a strange ritual atop the Town's largest building without open opposition. And in response to repeated trickery and attacks, Embryon calls upon the power of the Devil Kings...a relentless and dangerous bunch of mercenaries who are as memorable for their familiar names and faces as they are for the trail of destruction they leave in their wake...intentional or not.

The Investigation Team continues to recover and plan their next move, but time grows short...how much longer does the town have before it descends into unbridled madness? Each hour that passes troubles the mind of the team's burdened leader, who continues to punish himself for his inability to put an end to things...and strengthens his resolve for what he may yet have to do.

...There is a strange chill in the air of night. As Midnight approaches, the moon is covered by light blue clouds, the wind blowing much colder than a spring breeze has any right to.

...

SUDDENLY...it begins to snow, at first a few sparse flakes over the town splatter on the ground and begin to cake it with a flaky white. And then it grows heavier...a winter paint covers the buildings, the streets, the town...but that's not the end of it.

At the Yasogami High School, a layer of snow hardens into thick ice, caking everything both inside and out...and then it begins to rise, like a bright tower into the skyline above Inaba. Prominent, blue, and frozen...it stands, a Siren Song from within tempting, drawing several members of the town within its twisted walls.

The moon in the sky glows blue...and stands still, as if frozen on the horizon.

...And for those who remain outside the walls of the Tower, somehow, it seems like naught but a strange dream, an unusual air, and of course, an unusual pattern of weather...

But nothing more.

...Welcome to Frozen Inaba...a realm of white fantasy where time stands still...

And so it begins...

Quote:
(During the 'Frozen in Time' quest, citizens outside the Frozen Tower will progress as though the day is going on as normal...only time will not advance. Those with a high affinity for the demonic and spiritual such as very powerful summoners, Demi-Fiends, etc. will understand that something is amiss, sense the demonic power hovering over the frozen land, but will not be able to enter the tower. Those with lesser powers will simply notice signs of the unusual air...the winter weather in summer, the strange sky, but will not make the same connections. And those without powers will notice very little out of place at all, even as the night continues on, and on, and on...without time every changing.

To resume time, the Frozen Tower must be overcome by those you, who have been chosen to traverse its frozen Levels. The future of Inaba depends on you...)

A Message From Your Friendly Neighborhood Igor

Quote:
"...Welcome! It's so nice to see you all again...it's been some time since we first met one another, hasn't it? Time has passed...many things have happened since this world first came into being...and yet the mysteries surrounding you continue to grow more and more shrouded by fog.

...There is danger in your future. An ordeal awaits you from which you cannot turn aside, one which shall test your abilities to their utmost ends. And that is why...I am here tonight to lend you my assistance! Through the power of the Fool...the infinite possibilities of our most recent guests, guests with whom you are all no doubt familiar...a path has opened to you to obtain an even greater power than your current abilities!

This power...is the birth of a brand new Persona...the Ultimate Persona! It...may take some time to fully comprehend how the faces inside of you can continue to change, but...as you will discover as you continue along your journey in life, one rarely remains the same for very long. And perhaps to reflect this...so too, can your power change! So too must it change! That is the essence of your Ultimate Persona!

Power forged through bonds, power gained through your own bond, your Link with him...through these, your Ultimate Persona shall arise. An even greater power...the power within your heart, a reflection of your strength...this is what you shall also obtain with your new Persona! In fact, I have a feeling that there is much more to this power than meets the eye...

Only time will tell what other secrets you might discover about your power...but for now, take firm hold of that which you have earned. Face the mysteries which are spread out before you...and reach out for the truth!

We shall meet again, I am sure...but until then...

Farewell..."

Ultimate Personas (Details)

-Ultimate Personas are the final evolved form of your persona ability. An actualization of the strength you use to face yourself and search for the truth, their strength is beyond any of the personae you have had access to prior to now.

-To obtain an Ultimate Persona you must meet the following requirements (listed in the S. Links Forum first post): 9 MAX S. Links, MAX Fool S. Link, and significant time invested in the Persona-User team onto which you have been drafted. These are available ONLY to HEROIC TEAMS. Villains cannot obtain Ultimate Personas.

-When you obtain an Ultimate Persona, you may choose 3 new abilities for your persona...1 Low-Level, 1 Medium-Level, and 1 High-Level. You will also obtain an Ultimate Skill...these are unique, customizable (similar to the Unique Skill earned with MAX Fool), and must be approved by (Arena Emperor). Their power level is High-Very High, with limited use.

-Fill out the form in the S. Links Forum and have Arena Emperor add it to your profile to achieve the Ultimate Persona and redeem your Ultimate Abilities.

-As Igor mentioned, there is also still an reward which can be obtained by achieving MAX-Level with ALL your S. Links...amongst other things. This achievement, however, remains a mystery. What might happen when you achieve this nigh-impossible level of strength, solidifying your bonds with others amidst all this supernatural chaos?

::Inaba Nightly News::

The newscaster on the television is wrapping up the nightly broadcast. Turning to the camera as the credits roll, he prepares to deliver his parting shot.

"And that's the news for tonight. Stay tuned for 'Who's Who' with Trish coming up right after this! Tonight, Part 2 of her revealing interview with the enterprising young Mr. Cypher, whose unique views on the events in Inaba provide an interesting perspective to those trapped within the lockdown. All that and more, coming up next.

...At the sound of the tone, the time will be 12 A.M., Midnight. Good night everybody!"

11:59:57...11:59:58...11:59:59...

The clock strikes Midnight and the television shuts off abruptly...and then, to the surprise of all who are watching, so do the lights...their cars...every electrical device in their possession.

...One look to the sky reveals a green, sickly-looking sky and a golden moon so bright and ominous it could send a chill down your spine. And lining the streets, just inside open windows, and speckled across town are coffins, stark and red, everywhere you look.

...Once again, Inaba has entered the Dark Hour...

The Dark Hour.

...Will the Midnight Channel appear again, tonight? And will Simon appear on it?...

~::Midnight Channel Recap::~

Periodically, images will appear on the Midnight Channel at midnight on a foggy night. When Soji witnesses these images, his account will be placed here in the Announcements for everyone to see. These images will be visible at the same level to everyone with a Persona at the time, but will always be clouded and somewhat vague to those without a Persona.

The following recap is written in a first-person, real-time account by Soji Seta [feel free to recount your own experiences in your own posts, at your homes]!

[5/11] Midnight Channel [12:00 A.M.]

There is something on the television! Moments after the picture box shuts off due to the advent of the Dark Hour a familiar face appears with the Tower from the past few nights looming ominously in the background. The Tower itself is relatively clear, and the person staring into the camera is familiar as well, smirking with two-toned eyes and an earring looping through one of his two ears.

~::Simon, the Progenitor::~

"Welcome back to the show...it's nice of you to join me again. Though, with the weather outside tonight, it's not as though you have anywhere else to be, do you?" he teases confidently, looking straight into the camera with a Cheshire smile, "now don't get the wrong idea...this wasn't my doing. But to say that this ice isn't a welcome sight to my eyes would be...well, a lie, wouldn't it? To see you all struggling so mightily against the elements warms my black little heart...and to witness the town as it descends further and further into chaos is a unique...pleasure.'

'Having said that, tonight is an especially...important night for you, isn't it? In dark places where you can't see, the pieces are moving into place for a spectacle the likes of which you've never seen...and once you see it, you won't ever be able to forget it. I do hope you'll all live long enough to see it...there's nothing quite like watching in the instant that men become demons...that good becomes evil...or when the symbol, the very incarnation of order itself devolves into chaos. You can share in my delight, too, when that moment arrives...

And when your despair is at its highest, when the brilliant afterglow dims and you know for the first time, truly, that your lives are nearing their ends...I invite you to extend your hands and reach out to me.

Until that moment, however...I shall enjoy watching you squirm.

Good night, Inaba...may you awaken in the morning to find your homes lost amidst a very different world..."

...Offering one more cryptic smile, the man steps off-camera chuckling to himself. The Midnight Channel does not fade, however...and the Tower of Demise looms in the background image on the television as the 'broadcast' continues through the Dark Hour...

~::Inaba Evening News::~
(Major Storyline Recaps!)

As events continue to occur in the town of Inaba and the situation changes, the important events and plot developments for each organization and the story as a whole will be chronicled here in this space on a nightly basis. Whether one group has a large battle end in victory or the Investigation Team simply uncovers another piece of the puzzle, their ongoing quest will be kept like a journal, here.

Storyline threads will be divided by organization, meaning that what is marked for one group may not necessarily be something other groups are aware of. For major storyline arcs for the RP as a whole, they will be marked separately.

(NEW, MAJOR, AND/OR ACTIVE STORYLINES WILL BE ADDED IN BOLD PRINT!)

[5/10] Main Plot Storylines

- Tartarus continues to appear on the Midnight Channel due to the growing Death Wish in Inaba.

- The 12 Arcana Shadows are said to be appearing in Inaba. If they are all destroyed or reunited, the Harbinger of the Fall will be revived, Tartarus will cross over into the real world from the TV World, and Nyx will descend once again.

- A new organization has emerged with plans to revive Nyx and destroy both the Black Messengers and Investigation Team. They seem to know a great deal about both Hetero and Soji Seta, and are currently fronted by a man named 'Simon' and his 'Master'.

- Beldr, a Deity-Level Demon, was defeated by the combined efforts of the Kuzunoha Summoners and Mataki Hito after attacking the concert of mysterious Indie Singer, Haru...whose connection with the demons grows more and more suspcious. Despite the victory, the mysterious Lewis Keys again appeared and hinted that this would be just the beginning of a much larger incident. The Tournament of Bel...

- In light of the failures of the Embryon to control the chaos in Inaba, an Elite Task Force known as the 'Devil Kings' was sent into the lockdown by order of the Japanese Government. While deployed under the guise of an allied force to the Embryon, it was revealed that once on duty the first job of the Devil Kings would be to eliminate the Embryon entirely. Many high-ranking Embryons lead by Balmung fled the base, and the Devil Kings lead the remnants on a mission to redeem themselves by defeating a creature called a Shade and breaking up a meeting held by the Nanjou Group to summon a God. The Shade was driven away by Sasuke Sarutobi and Jubei Yagyu, but the Nanjou meeting ended in disaster with the summoning of a devilish foe...a Chaotic Demi-Fiend. Destroying the Nanjou and leaving Hei in critical condition, the fiend then left Date and Kenshin of the Devil Kings to clean up the carnage and uncover more of the mystery about just what had caused such destruction and taken down the entire Nanjou so easily.

- During the Late Evening just before the Dark Hour a large Tower formed in place of the Yasogami High School and the town became encased in falling snow. This Frozen Tower housed those whose hearts had become cold due to their circumstances in life and was ruled over by a woman called Snow Queen. Dozens of citizens received the call to ascend the tower and unlock its secrets, defeating guardians along the way and freeing the spirits of those trapped within, but in the end, only Koizeki Tanibasaki, Amelia Heartilly, and Mataki Hito made it to the finish, learning that the woman behind the Tower and the snow (a depressed young woman named Rei Fuji, possessed by the spirit of the Biblical Eve) had actually been manipulated by a "blond young man". With their victory, the tower collapsed and the school returned to normal, with the snow slowly tapering off from the blizzard it had been. But the question remains as to whether or not the story is all over...or if the blond young man was simply testing them for a greater destiny?

- The lockdown in Inaba continues...rioting in Inaba by desperate citizens is on the rise...demon attacks continue to occur.

[5/8] Investigation Team Storylines

- Having defeated Raiden the Black Messengers at the Shrine and learned of a (now-destroyed) entrance to their lair the Data Dungeon World, the Investigation Team must regroup and recover their wounds, then begin investigating another way into the dungeon.

- Team Leader Soji Seta continues to find himself at the center of events, attacks, and once again finds himself severely wounded. Despite healing, his pain persists. Dealing with the constant fighting, fighting with the knowledge that to end all of Inaba's suffering he will likely have to die...can he continue to put himself in harm's way, and survive it, long enough to make it to the final battle?

- Having learned of a new enemy in Simon and his 'Master', the Investigation Team are left to wonder just how much the Black Messengers really know about the continuing incidents in the TV World and in Inaba. What did they mean with their cryptic message to Soji? And if they are as powerful as they say they are, could they be the ones behind the merging of the TV World and the Real...and if so, can they be stopped?

[5/8] SEES-2 Storylines

- Minato Arisato has returned to life after the Great Seal began crumbling due to Inaba's growing Death Wish. Upon his return, he revealed that the 12 Arcana Shadows have returned, and that their reuniting will result in Tartarus crossing over into the Real World from the TV World and Nyx descending.

- Shadows sent by an unknown assailant now hunt Minato Arisato in hopes of eliminating him while his soul is divided between the Real World and the fading Great Seal. Unable to tap into his full strength, he must rely on the SEES and SEES-2 Team in order to protect him...and to come up with a plan to prevent the Arcana Shadows from reuniting.

- Having turned back the assault on the dormitory and ended Mitsuru's birthday party, SEES-2 recovers from its wounds and plans its next move...hunting down the 12 Arcana Shadows and preventing them from reuniting. In the interim, Minato has advised that it is in their best interest to try and reduce the town's despair by breaking the lockdown in whatever manner possible. A reduced Death Wish may just be enough to prevent the 12 Arcana Shadow from returning to Inaba, preventing Nyx's arrival.

[5/10] Devil Summoner Storylines

-With the arrival of the Devil Kings the situation between the estranged Embryons and the Yatagarasu take on an interesting turn. While the Embryons still are at odds with the Crows, both now standing as enemies of the Devil Kings. With this discovery, the situation now begins to grow more complex for Raidou and the other summoners. Can a cease-fire be reached with the Devil Kings? With the Embryon? Or is the situation more dire than ever, with enemies on two fronts now staring them down.

- Warned of an imminent appearance by Beldr at a concert held by mysterious Indie Singer Haru, Raidou and Geirin Kuzunoha combined forces with Mataki Hito (who was directed to the incident by the unpredictable Lewis Keys) and defeated the immortal demon. Despite the victory, it feels as though something larger is still on the horizon.

- Raidou has uncovered the existence of an experiment underway by a faction in Strega creating unstable persona-users who die shortly after a forced awakening. Who is ordering these creations to be made, who is making them, and how they are made is a mystery worth looking into if the opportunity arises.

- The hunt for Cesc Fabregas (Ichiro Kuzunoha) and his Orochi, the true perpetrators of the Embryon Massacre continues. In order to clear the name of summoners and the Yatagarasu, they must defeat the mysterious Ichiro and bring him to justice...before the Embryon's War consumes them all.

[5/10] Ex-Embryon Storylines

- The arrival of the Devil Kings signals the end of the Inaba branch of the Embryon; under the pretense of friendship, the Devil Kings force out the brass of the branch and take control of their headquarters. Lord General Balmung leads a procession of former officers in an escape, but he and the rest of his castoffs (including Ari, Naniyori, Sayuri, Tsurugi, Haoul, Kabuto Kirisaki, and Ryofu) now have gone from the law, to enemies of the government. Balmung seeks to lead them to safety and a hiding place where they can regroup, working together without the blessing of the Emperor to try and resolve the issues in Inaba in their own way.

- Captain Gabi, also forced out of Embryon's Headquarters by the arrival of the Devil Kings, takes Mokou, Reina, and non-combatant Embryons with him under orders to leave the town at once. Honoring Mokou's fierce resolve to protect the town and keep their spirits up, however, he 'kidnaps' them so that they can stay in the town long enough to see peace restored.

- Information gained from a trusted contact leads to disaster for the Embryon as the contact is revealed a traitor, luring Balmung and his forces into a deathtrap at an Abandoned Warehouse Downtown. Despite the efforts by Kabuto Kirisaki and the Lord General himself, many of the soldiers who appeared in the Warehouse died in an explosion set off by Takaya Sakaki...who is also presumed dead in the aftermath.

[5/10] Nanjou Group Storylines

- COMP-sales have skyrocketed in the last two weeks and public opinion of the Nanjou Group continues to grow more and more by the day. A Demonstration of an angel summoning lends weight to claims they can save the town...but there are some who see their use as a misappropriation of powers they never should have received. Among those who witness this are the Devil Kings, who use this perception to frame the Nanjou in a darker light than before.

- .Lead by Hei Nanjou, the Shomonkai attempt a late-night summoning by sacrificing the angel they called during their demonstration to bring a God into Inaba and fulfill their ambitions. The attempt goes horribly wrong when not only are they interrupted by the arrival of the Devil Kings seeking to arrest them, but their summoning accidentally calls forth a formerly-sealed Chaotic Demi-Fiend known as Tala which decimates their forces. As a result, Hei Nanjou is critically injured, his followers (save Duke) captured, and the Nanjou Shomonkai shattered badly enough that their continued existence must be called into question.

[5/8] Black Messenger Storylines

- With their failure at the Shrine to force out Kusuri and Dan's shadows and force them into their organization, the Messengers were dealt a crushing blow, forcing them to destroy the hidden television which allowed them to travel easily from the TV World to the Real World and back. This gambit by Hetero to bolster their ranks and whatever else he hoped to accomplish having failed, Hetero returns now to the TV World to desperately find a way to correct the situation...and continue to force their dominion over the town and the TV World alike.

- During the incident at the Shrine, Kazuma Koroko and Teros Inisu were visited by a strange man named Simon who claimed power equivalent to Hetero. Tempting them with a newfound power and more truths about the shadows than their former master could offer, Teros and Kazuma betrayed the Black Messenger and abandoned them to Simon's cause.

- Also during the incident, Hetero was visited in the TV World by a mysterious agent of Simon's 'Master' named Vamp who revealed that he was aware Hetero had betrayed 'their' purpose. Promised retribution if his betrayal continued, but without fear of Simon and his 'Master', Hetero then set out in search of a means by which he could more efficiently thwart their next plan...and in search of their next target.

- Speaking to Kazuma and Teros in the Tower of Demise inside the TV, Simon revealed that Hetero's power was similar to his own...gained through the devouring of people's forcefully-removed shadows. Unlike Simon, however, Hetero was unprepared for the side effects and his consciousness splintered, forcing him to take up an identity that was only partially who he was before...and partially the shadows which he consumed. Whoever he was before, he was familiar with Simon's true self and an important figure to their 'Master'.

- Beaten by Soji Seta in a merciless duel, Raiden sets out for the New Age Weapons facility to reforge his swords and prepare for Hetero's next orders, as well as seeking revenge on those who betrayed them at the Shrine.

[5/8] Black Messiah Storylines

- Revealing themselves for the first time to the Investigation Team, a man named Simon Kongo appeared before them at the shrine claiming to have been hoping to see Soji Seta while he was there before delivering a cryptic message. While there, he used his suffocating power to tempt Kazuma Koroko and Teros Inisu to his side and away from the Black Messengers.

- In the TV World, Simon revealed to Teros and Kazuma the existence of Tartarus...and then taught them how to increase their power by devouring the forcefully-removed shadows of other humans. Warning them of the dangers (a devoured shadow is capable of overpowering the will of its devourer and splintering their consciousness if the one eating the shadow's will is not strong enough), Kazuma and Teros partook in Simon's ritual, devouring the shadows of Kagaki and Megumi Okamoto to increase their strength, achieving a new level of strength.

- Vamp, another agent of the Black Messiah's 'Master', delivered a message to Hetero that they were aware of his betrayal and that continuing to refuse their purpose would mean a declaration of war between Messengers and Messiahs...revealing that at one point they were in league with the Black Messengers and that Hetero himself was a subordinate of their master.

- The Black Messiahs, their base situated in the Tower of Demise inside the Television World, seem to have the aim of thwarting the Black Messengers AND the Investigation Team...but to what end and purpose is not yet known to any of the low-rank members or the people outside of the 'Master's' inner circle.

[5/10] Strega Storylines

- Having tabbed his Faithful at the meeting two nights ago, Strega have begun a hunt for the Black Messengers...dark prophets like themselves who use their gifts for their own selfish reasons instead of reviving the Almighty Nyx. By capturing one of them, Takaya hoped to find the key to their power...and the key into the television where Tartarus continues to appear on the Midnight Channel.

- Though dead after the Embryon's raid on the Abandoned Warehouse, Takaya is revived in their morgue by the ghoulish Chidori...who is subsequently revived into a living sort of death by Takaya. Rejuvenated and with his own life as proof of his genuine nature as the Messiah, Takaya returns to his Faithful with a renewed message that his way is the way to salvation and power. That death is truly a blessing for the worthy...

- Experiments with their signature have begun to appear around time and instigated a fight against a member of the Embryon and a Devil Summoner. Whether or not Takaya has authorized these experiments and what the purpose behind them is is as of yet, unknown...

- Elke Shula, the night stalker, continues to prey on women throughout the town when the lights go down. His latest victims taken with him during his escape from Embryon, include Fresia Valens and Captain Angelina Durless, a familiar face from his forgotten past. Having claimed many lives already, it seems inevitable that more will be claimed...until he finds whatever it is that he is looking for.

[5/8] Orochi Members Storylines

- Having flawlessly perpetrated their raid on the Embryon and placed the onus of blame on the Yatagarasu, Cesc Fabregas (actually the Fourth Great Summoner Ichiro Kuzunoha) now sits back with his pack of summoners and sealed-deamon freaks in hopes that the war between them will annihilate them both...or weaken the winner enough that they can be crushed.

- Having pledged themselves to the ideal of 'Absolute Freedom', the Orochi Members continue to act with a license to do whatever they feel, bringing random bits of chaos and mayhem to different corners of the town. Is it all simply for fun, or is there perhaps a much darker and sinister purpose behind the carefree eyes of their layabout leader?

[5/10] Other Major Storylines

- On the Inaba Hilltop, a Shade...a zombie-like being with a strange resemblance to Rednal Ak'Thias...has begun to appear, being driven off once by the mysterious arrival of Ryoji Mochizuki and Elly Kirishima and once by the arrival of Sasuke Sarutobi and Jubei Yagyu of the Devil Kings. With its death still not confirmed, however, one must wonder what it will take to defeat this strange enemy...and just what the true nature of a 'Shade' might be.

- Amidst the chaos of the town of Inaba two beings have appeared with opposite personalities but a similar, dreadful power... Tala, the Chaotic Demi-Fiend, and Kisa, a True Neutral who is only just beginning to come into her full strength. While the latter takes comfort in the friendship of Soji Seta and his companions, Tala was responsible for the Nanjou Massacre and the deaths of several Embryons beneath the Junes Building. Whatever purposes they have and whomever they meet, one thing is undoubtedly certain...wherever a Demi-Fiend appears, death inevitably follows. And with two Demi-Fiends in the same town, something has to give. One way or another...

[5/10] Devil King Storylines

- Called into town by the Japanese Government to 'aid' the Embryon in their fight against the dark forces in town, the Devil Kings are revealed to be a mercenary group specializing in neutralizing all threats to a town of a supernatural nature. When the Embryon themselves are deemed a threat worthy of elimination, however, Devil King Date Masamune decides to compromise...allowing the heads of the group to escape while the lower-rank members are given a chance to prove themselves on one of two missions. Date leads one mission to the Nanjou Headquarters while Sasuke Sarutobi leads another mission to push back a threat on the Inaba Hilltop.

- Both missions end with a combination of failure and success...at Junes, the unexpected appearance of a Demi-Fiend leaves the Embryon in tatters, but despite the losses, the majority of the Nanjou (including Hei) are apprehended by the Devil Kings. Meanwhile, on the Hilltop, several Embryons are killed in Sasuke and Jubei's attempt to defeat the Shade found there...an while they do manage to drive the thing off, they are unsuccessful in finishing off the Shade before it can escape their pursuit.

Shin Megami Tensei
Persona 4: FES

Time progresses...days change...but the situation in Inaba only grows progressively darker and darker.

Yesterday was more than eventful, and several powerful people throughout the town are left to question whether or not they can continue to fight, if they have the manpower left to move forward...and if there is anything left in the town which can be salvaged...or worth fighting for. The Investigation Team remains on the mend following their clash with the Black Messengers, but how much longer the Messengers and Messiahs will remain quiet is a major concern. The Messengers are wounded but not finished...their members are hungry for vengeance. Something wicked stirs inside the Television; meanwhile, Soji Seta continues to try to find some semblance of normalcy, and the determination to do what is necessary in order to save the town.

...

Meanwhile, the law in the town continues to go through a state of unrest. Following their failure against the Strega Group, the government issued the mercenary group Devil Kings to the town of Inaba to eliminate them, forcing Balmung and his officers to go on the run in order to survive. Under the new command of the Devil Kings, many of the remaining Embryon members were killed...and many new mysteries began to arise. Their investigation has already uncovered the existence of a strange creature called a 'Shade', a shadow-like being similar in appearance to someone in the real world...in this case, Rednal Ak'Thias. But the greater revelation took place in their investigation of the Nanjou Group's nefarious summoning ritual, a misguided attempt to summon a god that ended in disaster.

...

By mistake, the Nanjou called into the world a terrible enemy...a Chaotic Demi-Fiend...and with its power the raid became a bloodbath, injuring members of both sides and killing several Embryons. Escaping before he could be apprehended by Date Masamune of the Devil Kings, Tala left behind the carnage for One-Eyed Dragon to clean up...leading to the apprehension of nearly every known member of the Nanjou Shomonkai and the rescue of a couple lucky members of their own raid squad. Interrogation will continue into tomorrow, pumping the captured Nanjou for as much information as possible until Hei Nanjou, who was critically wounded by Tala the Demi-Fiend, awakens in the hospital.

...

All of this occurred during the Dark Hour, but before, in the late hours of the evening another terrifying event put fear into the town of Inaba. As a thick snow began to fall, a great Frozen Tower appeared in place of the Yasogami High School. Several prominent members of the town were pulled into the Tower, and only by traversing the trials within was the school restored to normal...but only after discovering the influence of a mysterious blond man in the events which took place there.

...

A snow continues to fall, fading away slowly as a lingering reminder of the lessons learned within the crystal tower of the Snow Queen.

...

Time marches on...can today possibly be as eventful as the day before? And if it is...can everybody possibly survive it?

Friday Morning...
May 11, 2012. It is a lightly snowy Friday, but the snow is expected to clear up and melt off by this afternoon,

School continues, such as it is, but the oppressive nature of the town remains, and it is hard to stay focused on the mundane.

You feel slightly refreshed, but you must prepare yourself for the trials ahead.

[There is a strange buzz about town in the wake of last night's events...word out of the Embryon HQ is that there will be a major announcement some time between the Afternoon and Evening.]

It is once again, Early Morning.

[5/11] Early Morning -> [5/11] Morning

Another school day begins with disappointment; the promised new instructor's arrival has been pushed back a day and following last night's events, nobody really seems to be in the mood. Nonetheless, school continues...classes have begun at Yasogami High School.

Time moves forward...

[5/11] Morning -> [5/11] Lunchtime -> [5/11] Afternoon

Time presses on...the school day continues as lunch passes without incident, leading into a lazy afternoon.

...Or is it? All across town the word has been spreading about a special announcement on the television by the some new head of the Embryon Organization, and the students of Yasogami High School have been called to the auditorium to listen to the special broadcast on the Inaba News Channel. A large screen and a projector are set up to show the announcement, and all students are herded swiftly in to watch.

On screen there is a man with an eyepatch and stark black hair standing behind a podium, looking very official and authoritative with six swords strapped to his hip. Despite the many microphones and flashes in his face, he seems surprisingly comfortable and charismatic...

After a few moments he steps up to the podium microphone, clears his throat, and begins to speak...

Time moves forward...

~Date Masamune, the One-Eyed Dragon~

"All right, ATTENTION! This is a message for every person in the town of Inaba, and an urgent announcement from the Embryon Organization. My name is Date Masamune, the new leader of the Embryon following Lord General Balmung's return to Headquarters yesterday evening. Now I know you've all become familiar with the Embryon and Balmung from his previous broadcasts, but I'm taking over from here on...and for a good reason.

Last night, as of 12:01 A.M., we of the Embryon took into custody the man responsible for the demon infestation and total lockdown of the town of Inaba...and that man is Hei Nanjou, who is believed to have died in a hospital last night due to injuries he sustained resisting his arrest. We don't yet know what the Nanjou hoped to accomplish by releasing demons into Inaba, but what we do know is that they had intentions on releasing an even greater threat, and were using the money they earned from the sale of COMP-Stations...a necessity in the town because of the demons that they released...to fund their operation. But no more...together with the remaining members of the Embryon, my unit has put an end to their plans. Which leaves us all with a question as to what to do next?

The fact is, there are still plenty of threats in the town...the Black Messengers, the Nyxist Cult, the remaining loose demons...they are the threat which I and the Embryon will remain to defeat. But now, with the root of the problem out of the way, the town can start to rebuild...and

And it is for that reason that as of this moment, I, Masamune Date, by the authority of the Japanese Government, order the immediate breaking of the Inaba Lockdown.

I know a lot of you probably have questions as to why we would choose now to end it, and why there was a lockdown to begin with...I can only answer those questions by saying that the government has done everything in its power to bring this situation to as safe a conclusion as possible. And now, we can open the town back up and let everyone get on with their normal lives once again. I know it won't be easy...but I have faith that the strength which kept this town standing through the dark times will allow you all to move forward with pride and confidence.

From now on...your can shape your futures with your own hands. And if anything happens, we'll be here to guide you along the way.

Thank you...that is all."

[5/11] Afternoon -> [5/11] After School

Afternoon classes have ended! Students may now go home or attend their extracurricular clubs. Before leaving, an announcement is passed throughout the school in response to the earlier declaration of the lockdown's end by Date Masamune.

All ownership, use, sale, and purchase of COMP-Station summoning devices has now been dubbed illegal throughout the country by order of the Japanese Government. Those who own these devices are asked to drop them in a collection bin at the front of the Embryon Base without delay to help prevent further incidents.

Time marches on...

Focus...the best way to solve any problem or unravel any mystery was to spend the proper amount of time concentrating on ways that you could overcome it, the facts that had presented themselves to you, and then having the courage to follow the clues en route to whatever conclusion you might find (for better or worse). This was what he had been thinking about with regards to Yuki when he was interrupted...how he could use the information that he had received to draw out more of the person inside of that feral shell of hers and whether or not he wanted to know exactly what awful things had happened to her. But if not him, who would? Somebody had to...and there was something about the sweet nature of the small, wild girl that made him feel protective of her, even if their first meeting had involved her stealing a Rise-made omelet from his kitchen and nearly choking to death as a result. Friendships were made in such strange ways, weren't they? Err...well, sometimes. But that line of thought was going to have to wait for another time, as he was only mildly startled by the approach of his one-eyed former teammate; moving to shield himself from the intended landing point of Kazuma's blow, he inadvertently allowed the fist to dig into the still raw wound on his shoulder that instantly began to seep a thin stream of red liquid beneath his jacket. Cursing his inattentiveness, he bit his tongue and listened as the newest Black Messiah explained precisely where they could go if they wanted to bring an end to Hetero's ambitions. He would take them there...lead them...this had to be some sort of a trick or a revelation of some ulterior motive, didn't it?

...But then again, wasn't this the break that they had been waiting for?...

If this was a trap intended to lure them together so the Messiahs could jump them, or to force them into battle with the Messengers, well...that was exactly what they had been trying to do all along, wasn't it? All they had to do was spring the trap and even if they were at a disadvantage, they would be face-to-face with the enemies they needed to defeat in order to clean this town up once and for all. It was too good to pass up! His expression was hard, stoic...he wouldn't let the Black Knight see the sharp pain that sent screaming impulses all throughout this body...Kazuma pulled back and made his escape, and Soji could barely contain himself from letting it all out in one giant scream. Instead, it was a breath...he nearly choked he had held it for so long...but his eyes never left the retreating form of his enemy as he escaped from the school and began to flee through the gates. He had only an instant to make the decision whether or not to follow. Soji's hand slid under his jacket towards his wound and it felt wet...his fingers came back out and they were tipped with fresh red...his feet were already moving in a swift jog after Kazuma before he had even thought to pull the phone out of his pocket and send out a text to the rest of his friends/teammates to let them know where he was going...and where to meet him.

'This is it...if we can just do this, it could be the end,' he thought with a sort of hurried determination, hustling swiftly enough that he didn't even need the Zionga marks to follow his prey...instead, the sight of him in the distance lead him on. Even if he wasn't moving as swiftly as he usually could because of his linger injuries and even if Kazuma was faster than Soji remembered, he wouldn't let him out of his sight. Junes was coming up soon...he just hoped that everyone else was as ready to put an end to this as he was.

The Best of the Best!

[2010 Persona 4: FES Awards Presentation]

Most underplayed character - Fuuka Yamagishi
While the easiest thing to do is nominate any member of the Canon Investigation Team, this year saw the disappearance of a character who had made a charming mark on the Guild in 2009 with her budding relationship with fellow SEES Member Junpei Iori. With her skills vital to the work of SEES and her sweet personality absent, the SEES plot (and JunpeixFuuka romantic plot) was forced into the back seat for the much of the year. Here's hoping for a return to form for one of our favorite canon characters in 2011, and some major developments for the SEES teammates involved.

[Other Nominees: Malka Devorah, Kagemusha, Yuuki and Ren Haruko]

Most believable character - Amelia Heartilly
Many characters were put through any number of trials this year, but none reacted with as wide and believable a range of emotions as this rich girl, whose disgust at her teammates negligence, befuddlement at the attention received from the confusing Gigolo, courage and fear in the face of danger, and other, less severe and more normal emotions (such as minor jealousy over a friend's relationship, loneliness at lacking one of her own, etc.) serve to make her one of the most human characters in the Persona 4 Universe.

[Other Nominees: Minori Koroko, Mokou, Daigo Umehara]

Most idiotic character - Zeo Zaggart
Once again, the clown prince of Inaba has proven to be none other than the blue-haired defect that the Kirijo only wish they could disown. With a year that featured more helicopter jumping, extreme attempts at winning over women, and even a failed attempted grope on the final boss of the Snow Queen's Tower, it was more of the same from this year's biggest moron, Zeo Zaggart.

[Other Nominees: Deadpool, Leslie Arzt, Eoria Ansul, Luusa Baddock]

Most lovable character - Woli
Being lovable isn't just about looking good, making big doe eyes, and being a meek little puppy shaking in fear in a big, scary world. As this devil-busting boy proved this year, with a little bit of innocence, some lovable ignorance, and a gleefully charming fetish for bananas you can win hugs and candies in equal measure from nearly everyone you meet.

[Other Nominees: Kawaisona, Minori Koroko, Mikuzaki Gin, Yuki Kiryu, Zeo]

Most epic character - Raiden
How do you top a murderer light-saber dueling a giant gator through the streets of Inaba, the town's most notorious pervert android, a pair of wicked summoners, and the town's worst Chronic Backstabber in the race for the most epic character in all the town? You can start by being a cyborg ninja and hunting down to kill several townspeople, then engaging in the year's most unforgettable duel with the town's hero over the ruins of the shrine that you destroyed. That was Raiden's year...and it was enough to earn him these honors by a narrow margin.

[Other Nominees: Naniyori, Zeo Zaggart, Kazuma Koroko, Kai "Geirin" Kuzunoha and Raidou Kuzunoha]

Most heartwarming couple - Minato Arisato x Mitsuru Kirijo
Everybody loves Faust and Eoria's adorable interaction, Minori and Duke's innocent love, and Shikari and Mikuzaki's fumbling, stumbling relationship, but nothing quite beats the 'D'aww Factor' of the reunion of these two star-crossed lovers who were torn apart by Death itself, only to have the girl receive the greatest birthday gift of all in his return.

[Other Nominees: Faust x Eoria, Minori x Duke, Shikari x Mikuzaki]

Least likely couple - Anybody Not Rednal x Yuno
Let's be realistic, there's a better chance that pigs fly than anybody gets close enough to Yuno to be called a 'couple' before they feel the cold sting of her bloody knife twisting inside of their gut. Which is enough to outdistance these other equally amusing potential non-couples ...You hear that, Faust?

[Other Nominees: Amelia x Rednal (Leon or Faust), Kazuma x Rose, Toru x Mitsuru (Yukari, Yukiko)]

Most heartwarming moment in RP - Minato's Revival
Is there anything quite as moving as the return of a close friend thought to be long-gone from your lives? Everybody who has played Persona 3 and every character who knew him in the Guild felt a little leap in their hearts at the unexpected return of the man who gave his soul for the sake of the world. None more so than the close friends and loved ones who were there to see him step forward through the fog that night...

[Other Nominees: Gabi Rescues Mokou, Ellen and Toru Appeal to Cleopatra, Shikari and Miku Have a Tender Moment, Faust Saves Kusuri, Duke and Minori...A Couple is Born!]

Most badass moment in RP - Soji v. Raiden Rematch and the I. Team v. Black Messengers
What constitutes badassery when it comes to an RP such as this one? Relevance to the plot? Possibly. Several high-level characters on either side of the moral line? Definitely. Having those characters beat the living daylights out of one another for the sake of saving the life of a friend? Totally! Having a member of the team take down the enemy and save/get the girl? Of course! And all that came before/apart from the epic clash between the Black Blade Raiden and Soji Seta, the first major victory of the war between the Investigation Team and the Black Messengers...and the one which turned the tide. And then there was Simon...

[Other Nominees: Orochi's Invasion of Embryon, Conquering Mitsuo and Yukiko's Shadow, Simon Kongo Appears, The Dark Hour Returns, Naniyori Duels a Gator...With Lightsabers, Orgel's Last Stand]

Dumbest Moment in the RP - The Hospital Incident
All right, this one has been done to death and gone over with a fine-tooth comb one too many times to rehash all the details. Needless to say, when you leave a killer looking for kicks alone in a hospital to thoughtlessly pursue your own enjoyment elsewhere and the place gets blown up, it's pretty hard to deny that some of the blame lies directly on your shoulders. And yet...

[Other Nominees: Yuuki Betrays Hetero, Yoshi and Tia Pokemon Battle with COMPS and get caught by Naniyori's Squad, Leon's Inexplicable Rage, Naniyori's Vuvuzela Torture, Bour Messes With Elke's Things...]

Most terrifying moment - Elke Takes Angelina from Embryon
While there is an obvious terror in staring into the eyes of the devil, facing off against a terrible foe, or learning that a friend is in danger, there is a special place in one's nightmares for moments like this one. The terror of a madman staring into your face with lifeless, merciless eyes, the feeling of hopelessness as he tears you apart piece by piece, and the helplessness as he carries you away to have his way with you...In terms of fear, Elke Shula is truly in a class of his own.

[Other Nominees: Tala Rises, Return of the Dark Hour, Tartarus on the Midnight Channel, Mitsuo Has Yukiko!, Takaya Revives]

Most confusing character - Mataki Hito
Let's try and sum up this character in as few words as possible. School president good/evil plotting/friendly/evil snake monster/devil/human with good/bad intentions for Amelia/Minori and a hate/hate/mentor?/hate relationship with the man who may/may not have done it all to him, Lewis Keys who wants to save/drink the blood of everyone in the/his school. ...Did I mention I think he's bloody evil?

[Other Nominees: Lewis Keys, Sapphire, Naniyori, Hetero]

Biggest Airhead - Eoria Ansul
Let me tell you why I think Eo-ooh, a shiny! 8D -sparkle-

[Other Nominees: Mikuzaki Gin, Alexander the Great, Rosealina Miina, Naomi Fujiyoshi]

Most Unlikely Badass - Woli
You wouldn't know it to look at the silly, banana-nomming, Amelia-hugging monkey boy, but if you watched the way that he punched a hole straight through the back of an Asura demon, you begin to understand just what kind of contradiction you're dealing with in Woli

[Other Nominees: Yoshizo Yoshimura, Sayuri Zetsumei, Kawaisona, Satoru Otonashi]

Best Fight - Soji Seta versus Raiden
I. Team versus the Reaper was a great team battle, and there was no bigger team storyline battle than the I. Team versus the Messengers, but for sheer epic skill, brutality, and triumph, look no further than the second duel between Soji Seta and Raiden to find the year's best example of combat in the Guild.

[Other Nominees: I. Team vs. the Reaper, I. Team v. Messengers and Kusuri's Shadow, Summoners v. Beldr, Orochi versus Embryon, Leon versus Yoshizo]

Most likely to get stabbed by Yuno - Faust
Let's face it, he's practically the only one silly enough to go near her regularly(not named Rednal)...

[Other Nominees: Aselia, Soji Seta, Teros Inisu]

Least Trustworthy Character - Naniyori
While Kazuma and Teros's Chronic Backstabbing Disorder has been greatly documented and Mataki Hito's intentions are as ambiguous as Rainbow's intentions inside a men's shower room, if there was one great truth that we learned in the Guild in 2010 it was this...never, ever, under any circumstances, trust the big green guy with the suspicious smile and massive broadsword on his back (that light-saber dueled a friggin' GATOR!) that might kill you at any moment.

[Other Nominees: Mataki Hito, Teros Inisu, Alexander the Great, Rainbow]

Most Badass Normal - Koizeki Tanibasaki
Barely getting the edge over Mortimer the Ninja Platypus and the Incredible Exploding Arzt (and Yuki with her awesome Zhua!) is Koizeki Tanibasaki, who with little more than the abilities of a normal human managed to man up and fight through the Frozen Tower en route to being one of the only survivors of the whole screwed up ordeal. And if he wears that Fig Leaf he won into battle even once, we might have a lock for next year's repeat winner in this category already...

[Other Nominees: Mortimer the Platypus, Chokichi Miyaki, Yuki Kiryu, Leslie Arzt]

Character Who Took the Biggest Level In Badass - Yoshizo Yoshimura
It was almost comical how weak and helpless Yoshizo was when he first appeared in the streets of Inaba, gaily strolling through the streets of Inaba in search of his sister, in search of love with Azarni, and in search of a life that was generally not even one iota as screwed up as his became. Captured by the Embryon he was treated as a criminal, bounced around with the Nanjou, and then put on a trial by the Messengers that it seemed impossible to win, he seemed on the short track to die an early death. 6 Tiers and countless bodies later, the Toad Killer is one of the Guild's more fearsome and unorthodox high-level fighters. And if you doubt whether or not he can hit with any power, just ask Soji Seta if he's dangerous or not...

[Other Nominees: Mataki Hito, Kusuri Keiraku/Faustus Necromonium, Sayuri Zetsumei, Teros Inisu]

Most Heartbreaking Moment - The Embryon Memorial
There is nothing quite so heartbreaking as a funeral in the rain, is there? Watching as the tears of loved ones mix with the falling precipitation, streaking mascara, the stoic but heartbroken looks of those who try to be strong, and the private words whispered over the graves of the fallen. Embryon lost more than a Captain that day...they lost friends, loved ones, and a piece of themselves that they could never get back.

[Other Nominees: Minori and Kazuma Reunited, Rei Fuji's Past - Snow Queen Quest, Yukiko and Rise Fall vs. Raiden, Kisa's Lifestyle Before Meeting Soji, Igor Departs the Velvet Room]

The Kamina "Real, Manliest Man" Award - Kanji Tatsumi
If you need any evidence as to why this award is not in question, please refer to Kanji's post on Page 93 of the Samegawa Floodplains and then go home satisfied. ...Friggin' Czechoslovakian Assassins...

[Other Nominees: Masamune Date, Malka Devorah, Balmung of the Azure Sky, Naniyori]

Most Courageous Character - Zeo Zaggart
Sure, it may seem easy to be courageous when your body is made of mostly metal and you're a powerful anti-shadow weapon made to fight against supernatural things, but Zeo proved his mettle time and time again by throwing himself in the thick of battles that were over his head for a variety of reasons ranging from protecting his friends from Raiden, to trying to cop a feel on the Snow Queen. ...'Brave but foolish' never before applied so perfectly...

[Other Nominees:] Soji Seta, Orgel the Cannon, Raidou Kuzunoha, Geist the Magnificent, Naniyori)

Magical Girl Miku Girliest Girl Award - Faustus Necromonium
The reign of Queen Fausty-chan has begun! Come on, you guys know you love it...

[Other Nominees: Mikuzaki Gin, Minori Koroko, Claire Ferris, Victoria "Vicky"]

Best Rivalry - Naniyori and the Gator
As last-second entry that barely outclasses Soji and Raiden's epic rivalry through two duels ending with both severely beaten and in hospital-condition based on the strength of two major points. One, the crocodile was friggin' huge...and two, light sabers. Any questions?

[Other Nominees: Kazuma and Teros, Soji and Raiden, Raidou and Kai, Rednal and Faust]

Best Storyline Villain - Eve (Snow Queen Quest)
While many great villains had some vintage moments this year, there were few quite as chilling (forgive the pun) and heart-rending as the tragic Snow Queen. Witnessing the frozen world in which she sealed herself away to protect her broken heart, seeing the pieces of her happiness stripped away from her in flashes of memory, and freeing all those who had accepted her frozen reign from their demons, the world which Eve created was like something out of a fantasy...and that is why the Snow Queen tops the charts for this year's storyline villains.

[Other Nominees: Cesc Fabregas (Embryon Massacre), Tala (Nanjou Raid), Beldr (Haru's Concert), Takaya (Smoke and Mirrors), Raiden (Hetero's Gambit)]

Best Comedic Moment - Zeo's Dream Comes True (Amelia sits on his lap and he goes comatose, attempting to grope the Snow Queen)
It takes a man to lose an arm in a vain attempt to grope bitter royalty under the 'intention' to free her from her pain and relieve her of her grief. There is also a great sense of satisfaction in watching as he is rebuffed again, and again, and again, only to melt into a puddle of goo when fate throws him a bone.

[Other Nominees: , Naniyori burns the liquor store...again, Leslie Arzt's Day in the Sun, Deadpool a' Collage (All of the Deadpool), Foibles a' Soji (The follies of a Soji...)]

Best Kiss - Lewis Keys and Amelia Heartilly
While it's not an electric kiss as Alex and Cesc's tingling liplock, there was a fire of an entirely different kind burning in Inaba's most infamous rich girl when the mysterious Lewis Keys took her lips atop the Inaba Hilltop during the second day of his Carnevale. The lingering effects were so strong that even in the face of his mysterious intentions, her thoughts continued to linger upon him...and if nothing else, it seems he keeps coming back for a little more and a little more, himself.

[Other Nominees: Duke and Minori's First, Soji and Yukiko Alone in the Dark, Alexander the Great and Cesc Fabregas, Kusuri and Faust]

Least Moving Death - Leslie Arzt
How do you create a death less moving than the death of those who were created for the sole purpose of dying? ...Well, alright, he was created for the purpose of dying as well, but his pretentious banter and arrogant mannerisms certainly made him a prime target for an elimination that we will soon forget.

[Other Nominees: Embryon Ensigns, Tia Izumi, Sanae Hanekoma]

Most Innocent Character - Woli
When a boy views the strange competition of Lewis Keys and a royal rumble-style fighting match amongst enemies and allies as a fun game to play with his new friend, you're dealing with innocent. When a boy is so loyal that he waits in the snow on your doorstep long enough to become a snowman because he knows he's supposed to wait to be let in, you've got innocent. This is Woli...innocence incarnate. A close winner over adorable Miku and Hikaru, who nearly became a repeat winner.

[Other Nominees: Gin Mikuzaki, Hikaru Okamoto, Minori Koroko, Eoria Ansul]

Best Dungeon - Snow Queen Tower
Even with more competition, it would be hard for any dungeon to overcome the diversity, inclusiveness, and touching story behind the bosses on every floor of the Snow Queen's Tower...culminating in the epic conclusion and the heartbreaking tale of Rei Fuji, who became possessed by her despair and gave rise to the Snow Queen.

[Other Nominees: Mitsuo Kubo's Dungeon, Digital Data World (Incomplete)]

Most Forgotten Character - Miyuki Arisawa
Again, an easy category to choose any member of the Investigation Team (and despite the decision to shy away from them, three were so disappointing that they still made the list), but instead we went with the obviously-least-played PC member of the two major protagonist groups. Having gone through several changes since her creation, Miyuki once spent some time with Soji and became a well-liked member of the guild. Her appearances this year, however, have dwindled...leaving her positioned more as the lesser-known cousin of Haseo whose on-screen appearances could be counted on one hand for 2010.

[Other Nominees: Mikael Allen Hendrassen, Angelina, Rise Kujikawa, Naoto Shirogane, Teddie]

Most Annoying Character - Raidou Kuzunoha XIX
Became so famous for her sudden interruptions of events, battles, and other meetings intended to be exclusive that the coined term 'Raidou Swoop' became common nomenclature throughout the Guild. Her lack of modesty continues to disturb many of the females in the Guild, and nearly sent poor Kisa into a shock coma. Receives the award over the likes of Ryan and Mini on the grounds that she actually was around more than a week, long enough to actually earn an award...

[Other Nominees: Teros Inisu, Ryan Bayani, Mini Arisato, Mataki Hito]

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Top RP'er of 2010 - Rednal
While others merit mentioning for their lovable, interesting characters and contributions to the respective plots, nobody put in quite as much in as many places as Rednal. Wielding characters in almost every major group and multiple characters with no affiliations entirely, when somebody needed someone to interact with, they needed look no further than one of the Guild's oldest members. Some love him, some fear him, some might even continuously disagree with him about a myriad of things, but none can deny that Persona 4: FES would not be the Guild that it is today without the contributions of Rednal and characters such as Raidou Kuzunoha, Rednal Ak'Thias, Sylphie, Sapphire, Kisa, Mokou, Ryofu and Ria, Bour Ying, Eoria Ansul, and many, many more.

A big, P4:FES tip of the hat to this year's RP'er of the year, Rednal!

[Other Nominees: Hibarii, Kohaku Bear, Yamiko, Arena Emperor]

Top Hero of 2010 - Soji Seta
Perhaps a bit too easy, though with Soji's continued internal and external struggles continuing to be one of the major and most interesting plotlines in the Guild, he certainly maintains his right to the title of 'protagonist'. His epic duel with Raiden and unending efforts to bring peace to the town stand as the most significant of any heroic character, but since we want to spread the love...

Top Non-Soji Hero of 2010 - Mataki Hito
Starting the year as little more than an ambitious Senior Class President, Mataki somehow navigated the Gigolo's Carnevale to emerge Champion, earning a prize which changed him into something nefarious...and yet, having not quite turned entirely to the dark side, Mataki continued to blur the line between good and evil as he helped all the way through to the end of the Snow Queen's Tower, proving his worth even more now that he is in possession of powers. Top that off with his almost accidental contribution to the defeat of the immortal Beldr, and you have the most unlikely and accomplished year for any hero (however long that word may apply to him not withstanding) in the Guild.

[Other Nominees: Raidou Kuzunoha XIX, Geirin Kuzunoha XX, Zeo Zaggart, Amelia Heartilly]

Top Villain of 2010 - Ichiro Kuzunoha aka "Cesc Fabregas"
While his on-screen appearances have been few and far between, the influence of the mysterious 'Last Kuzunoha' have spread to every corner of the town of Inaba. His daring raid on the Embryon facility under the cloaks of the Yatagarasu (in which he killed several members of the group, including Geist the Magnificent) set the tone for what would eventually lead to the fall of Balmung's organization...but greater than that, it began a war between two (now three) factions that continues to this day. His teachings lead the unsuspecting Hei Nanjou to unleash Hell upon the town in the form of the COMP-Stations, escaped demons, and eventually, a Demi-Fiend itself...and his specter haunts many, even as his footsteps are hounded by the Crows of the Yatagarasu.

And really, isn't that sort of omnipotence without effort the earmark of the most dangerous villain?

Top Storyline of 2010 - Mitsuru's Birthday Party (Minato's Revival)
It was an amazing year for major storyline events, what with the purging of the Embryon and the Arrival of the Devil Kings and a Demi-Fiend, Hetero's Gambit leading to all-out war at the Shrine between the Messengers and the Investigation Team, and the chilling Tower of the Snow Queen drawing in all those from around the town, but there was nothing with quite the emotional and plot-relevant impact as the birthday party held by the Kirijo Group's CEO Mitsuru Kirijo, which culminated in a series of battles against shadows desperately seeking a prize on the roof...

...A prize which turned out to be the revived Minato Arisato, the martyr who sealed death returned from the dead...

But with is revival came the terrible news that the Arcana Shadows were freed, Tartarus taking root inside the TV World, and eventually, the return of the Dark Hour itself and the blending of the real world with that of the TV. It was a future that he hoped to avoid, but though he never intended to bring any of this trouble upon his friends again, there was no denying the warm feelings...and warm tears which fell that foggy night when his smiling face appeared through the milky shade to those who had loved and missed him so...

[Other Nominees: Purge (the Fall of Nanjo and Embryon, Arrival of Tala and the DK's), Hetero's Gambit at the Shrine, the Snow Queen, the Gigolo's Carnevale]
