same here ;_;
Mine was cool. Waaaay calmer than last year ^^' .
I was at a friends with 5 other people [ we stayed at her place for a hole week Oo ] and around 3 we started playing this stupid detective-killer-normalpoeple game XDD . I hadn't played a game like that for a long time !
But the thing that was long was the kissing everybody at midnight. As I live in switzerland, to say hello or when you give or receive something, or just to say thanks. We kiss "the air" on the left side, the right, then left again. And when there's more than 30people around it's sorta long @_@;;; .

well, guys, 2006 isn't going quite as well as I had hoped. I just got an email from JET and they rejected me, so that's that, I'm not going to Japan that way. Now to decide if I'm going to apply for another program, got for JET next year, or just settle for going there on vacation someday and forget the living there thing. I suppose it's better I know now instead of not knowing until Late March or April. Maybe things will pick up when it's Chinese new year, biggrin

I hope you find a way to go to Japan . I really want to go there myself. I keep reading travel books for Japan so I can plan what I want to do there.

My friend Ashwini (she's Hindi) was in an arranged marriage, but squirmed out of it. I don't know if she has a boyfriend right now though.
I'm sure your bangs look cute, Aiko-san!
As for me... I have to go write a paper on Going after Cacciato. Yeah... wish me luck on that, all ye who hath read it. (I also have to finish Richard the III. I only have, oh, five more acts to go. stare )

Arranged Marrige? aren't you still in highschool? I guess I always think of marriage as years down the road for me, and I get a little freaked out by people I know getting married. There also seems to be a trend of girls who want to get married at what I consider to be young, like 20 or 21. I read a post from one friend of mine, talking about how she thought she would be married at 21 and how sad she is that she's still single, and all I could think was "You're 21, you're a junior in college, you don't want to be married." I had another friend would I knew after she broke up with her boyfriend of 4 years, and she would say stuff like "I'm suppose to be married by now" and I was like, "Dude, you're 20." I'm sure if I'm not married or on the road to it by the time i'm 30 I'll freak out, but right now, I don't want to think about the "m" word.

Im 21, im in chiba university inageku. it is common for women to get married from 21-25 because thats what is considered normal. Over that, japanese people will say that means your are either homosexual, or no man wants you.

But yeah, I think most women in America want to be married by 25. But the average age of (first) marriage is getting older and older in Japan (this site says the average age is 29 for women and nearly 30 for men)
