Kenna reached up and pulled Ian towards her. Their passion raced forward with such intensity that it was nighttime before they finished kissing and snuggling with each other. There was a small hole in the roof of the bell tower and a single ray of moonlight shone in, illuminating Ian where she lay in his arms. "I've always loved you too," she said finally.

Kenna looked into his eyes and thought deeply before answering his question. "I think it is because I never felt like I was good enough for you. You are so friendly and perfect in so many ways, so I thought that you would find someone equally perfect. I never thought in a million years that...." her words trailed, she realized she was daydreaming as she spoke and she laughed a little to clear her head. "I just never thought that you would want me."

Kenna smiled and blushed a little as she snuggled closer to Ian. "I knew we would be too. When I thought about it in my mind, it just seemed so right, but like I said, I never imagined you would really feel the same way. That's what the shell was for, so I didn't feel too vulnerable I guess."

Kenna returned his soft kiss and her eyes began to sparkle like polished emeralds. "Me too." she whispered softly.

Kenna giggled as she leaned in towards Ian's ear. "Well, I do have one idea..." she purred.

Kenna looked at Ian and at once she felt something she had never before experienced. "Ian. I...I love you. But I need you, more than anything in the world. More than food, or water or shelter. More than the air that I breathe. You surpass every other need in my life. I need you...and I want you. Please, love me and..." she took a deep, uneven breath, "and make love to me," she pleaded.

A single tear of joy leaked silently down the side of Kenna's face. She leaned in and kissed him passionately, all the cold and snow no longer bothering her.

((Time jump, 3 weeks later))

Kenna opened her eyes slowly, she was lying in the small bed next to Ian. When she sat up, the room began to spin and she felt the classic signs of a person who is about to be sick. She jumped up, nearly losing her balance, and rushed down the hall to the small bathroom. A short while later,after brushing her teeth furiously, she emerged feeling quite a bit better. She walked back down the hall and climbed back into bed next to Ian. She had no energy and just wanted to lay in bed all day. She gave a relaxed sigh as she wrapped her arms around him and snuggled close to his body for warmth.
