"I sure hope he was thinking about it a while. I'd hate to think he just woke up one morning and decided all at once that he was gay." Cass laughed quietly, shaking her head. "Man. My aunt came out some years back. This is just slightly harder to deal with. I guess eventually..." She stopped turning her glass long enough to take a drink. She was leaving little wet circles on the bar counter. "I have got to talk to him. While not angry, I mean."

Avery nodded, and he took another swig of rum from his bottle. "Yeah... best to wait until you know you won't blow up at him," he laughed a little. "Things never go the way you want, that way." He was glad the conversation wasn't as awkward as he thought it might be. Of course, if she found out he and Timothy had slept with Vasile?
Yeah, don't mention that.

"I already did the yelling thing," Cass admitted. "It was not helpful." She rested her chin on her hand, and grinned at Avery. "I always did have a big mouth." Perhaps moreso, now. "I need to apologise, I think. Clear my conscience and all."

"Well at least it's our of your system now, eh?" Avery smiled back at her. "Don't worry, I have a big mouth too," he laughed. "It's gotten me into trouble loads of times. I think it's just because sometimes I say things without even thinking, first. That's always a great idea."
Avery decided against drinking anymore for now; he was a lightweight, and he wanted to be able to walk back to his duplex without falling over, at least. And he wanted to make sure he didn't say - or admit - anything stupid.

"That has always been my problem," Cass laughed. "Speaking before thinking things through. God, some of the stuff I said back when people first started to change? Yeesh. I'm surprised Ambrose still talks to me."
She finished off her beer with a final gulp, and set the glass down. "You want another? I will if you will."

"Ambrose... is he the wolf guy? I think I've met him once or twice, very briefly though." He wondered if he had changed anymore since he last saw him at the party. Avery still worried that he would become a full blown dog, unable to walk on two legs anymore, like Awen had told him about Pyroth. And, looking at Cass, it just made him worry even more since she didn't even have legs any longer.
"Hmm," he thought for a moment, "nah... I think I've had enough for now. I'm kinda a lightweight, it doesn't take much to get me drunk," he said with a grin.

She nodded. "Yeah, the wolf guy." At one point she had been horribly jealous of him, but it didn't seem like such an "easy" animal to get anymore.
"And fair enough." Cassidy shrugged. "I suppose I should stop now, anyway. I've had enough." She gathered up her pad of paper and pen, and with a polite smile to Avery, said, "I'll see you around, I guess."
She uncoiled herself and turned to slither back to her duplex.

"Alright, it was nice meeting you, Cass! I'm sure we'll run into each other again sometime," he smiled, and waved as she left. Before Avery went back to his own duplex, however, he grabbed some various bottles of flavored drinks - as much as he could carry, anways - to stock up the mini fridge in his duplex.

NEW RP
Vasile had asked both his friends to meet him that evening at the bar. Secretly, he just couldn't wait to show off his new...boyfriend? friend?.. person type man to Ambrose. He didn't know why..he had never been the real kiss and tell kind of person before. He knew lots of guys at the desire to show off their trophy dates.. but back when Vasile was in the dating scene, well...he always considered himself the 'pretty one'
But for the first time since he could remember he had been positively giddy. And Ambrose was the cloest friend he had on the island, especially since him and Cass broke up, and he was looking forward to haveing Marlow and Ambrose meet each other.
He made himself a martini and leaned against the bar, waiting and watching the sun set over the ocean.

Ambrose had admittedly been curious about the shine in Vasile's eye when he had extended the invitation earlier that day to meet up with him and the person he "wanted to introduce him to". He had been keeping mostly to himself and Angelina since the soccer match, and the notion of going out drinking with a friend sounded enjoyable. Ironic, the wolfman mused, that he never really went out drinking with buddies until being stuck on the tropical island of a mad scientist. The activity which most college kids viewed as normal, Ambrose had always had better things to do. Or perhaps just not enough friends.
He made his way out to the beach, freshly showered and in a nice set of Ambercrombie polo shirt and khakis, happy that at least his clothes still had no problem fitting him, aside from the necessary tail-adjustments.
The sun was setting, leaving a cooler respite from the baking heat of the day, and his lupine eyes (and nose) had no problem picking his way down the path and out to the beach bar.
He saw the single figure sitting there when he approached, and waved. "Hey Vasile!" He called out, trotting the rest of the way, plopping down on one of the stools with a smile and a wag.
"Thanks for the invitation! So who's the mysterious person you would like me to meet?" Ambrose had his suspicions after the last conversation they had had where Vasile had come out of the closet, but wasn't going to say anything.

A ways up the path, Marlow negotiated the craggy trail with growing ease. It wasn't the smoothest ride, but at least he didn't have to make sudden, jerky corrections to keep the chair from falling over anymore. It was nice to concentrate on something so tangible, because frankly the idea of meeting up with Vasile and another islander had him concerned from the start. He hadn't exactly proven his friend making skills on the island just yet. Vasile must have been one extraordinary case of beginner's luck because the next "chap" he met didn't exactly appreciate his company. Hopefully, this friend of Vasile's wasn't having as bad a day as the squid.
He reached the level of the beach with a subdued look of triumph. One challenge successfully over come. Now all he had to do was drink, be charming, and go to bed. As he saw Vasile and the other figure he waved his hello. "You beat me" He lamented, shrugging his shoulders as he finished pushing himself towards the bar. "Not surprised, I'm afraid, just glad I could make it."

Vasile greeted Ambrose with a friendly hug, actually happy to be hanging out with an old friend as well. Ambrose would notice that Vasile had taken extra care of his apperance tonight, looking a snazzy as a man covered head to toe in fur could hope to pull off.
"A friend," Vasile purred with an air of mystery when Ambrose asked about the other person. "He's pretty new.. and he hasn't met that many people..outside, erm, Billy. And that doesn't really count."
Vasile, as happy as he was to see Ambrose, was obviously distracted, looking repeatedly over his shoulder. His tail twitched behind him excitedly the whole time, and after a few minutes, Vasile's eyes and ears perked high and he virtually jumped out of his seat when Marlow came up. "Marlow!"
He went over to offer help if he needed, ushering him over to the bar. "Ambrose, this is Ridley Marlow. Marlow, my friend Ambrose," Vasile introduced as he came close enough.
It would be quite obviously, to everyone perhaps but Vasile himself. that he was quite smitten.

Ambrose returned the hug with a friendly smile, eyebrow (or his closest equivalent) cocked in curiousity. He kept his smirking smile in check as best he could - Vasile's eager mannerisms all but screaming the fox's infatuation. He clapped him on the shoulder and gave him a wink before turning to see who this mystery man might be.
His ears pricked as he saw the brunette in the wheelchair. Ambrose wasn't exactly sure what he was expecting, but it wasn't this. Recovering quickly, he walked over and extended a hand. "Marlow? It's a pleasure to meet you." He nodded at him with a smile, exposing a few lupine teeth as he did so, his tail giving a friendly wave.
"Vasile, I'm afraid, hasn't told me much about you, other than you were someone who I must meet." He eyed his chair curiously, and thought back to Vasile's comment about him being new. After just having met the little boy earlier who told Ambrose he had MS, Ambrose wondered silently about a turn in the laboratory's selection of new subjects. Perhaps they were actually trying to see how much their research could help people with ailments and injuries.

Marlow gave a nod to Vasile, unable to hide a smile at how time had done little to dampen his optimistic enthusiasm even if it did make him feel a little nervous. Then he turned his attention to the new face, reaching out to grasp the offered hand firmly. "Good to meet you as well." He assured him, doing a fair job of looking him in the eyes even though the doggish man towered over him and his chair. "Vasile has been equally vague about you."
He might have been off put by the way Ambrose's brows twitched over his yellow eyes as he gave Marlow a once over, but he recognized that the man had a fair amount to be critical over. There was the chair, for starters, then the fact that Marlow hadn't exactly been able to hide his own examination of Ambrose. He seemed farther down the path than Vasile, but like the fox he seemed to still hold himself with a human's poise. Strangely, that gave him a bit of hope. Lastly, Ambrose had the right to critical because Marlow had just come to the realization that this might be one of those "let's have a drink with my friend at the bar" meetings. Vasile was certainly acting the part, practically squirming at his side. Marlow continued to smile. "What are we drinking tonight?"

"Anything you want!" Vasile piped up happily. "I'll play bartender for tonight."
Vasile slipped behind the bar with a flashing smile to Marlow. "What can I get for you gentleman?"
He looked between to his friends, the giddiness still evident in his face. Though Vasile restrained himself from doing anything that would blantantly give away that the feeling were mutual. (at least Vasile hoped they were).
"Ambrose's been here even longer than I have," he said in way of idle conversation. "He was one of the first."
