Kara watched the shadow go, her eyebrows shooting up. "Nifty. You're welcome, and good luck." She turned and got ready to push off, and then thought better of it. "If he ever comes back, just yell for 'Supergirl.'" She grinned. The woman's face said it all; she had done okay. "Chances are good that I'll hear you." With a wave, she took off and flew in the direction of the explosion. Not exactly the most difficult think in the world to pinpoint, considering the plume of smoke. As she got close enough to see the thing, or, rather, the creature in the center of the plume, she had to stop and rub her eyes. Nope, it was still there. "That," she said blankly, "Is a man in a rhino outfit." She was having the weirdest day, which, considering the bizarreness of her 'normal' days, was really saying something.

User ImageThe Reaper started to step out, but caught a familiar red and blue streak in the sky and quickly retracted back into the shadows. Had she disposed of the clones already? Well, she was certainly different. He leaned against the wall and slid down into a crouching position. His cloake drooped and wrinkled around him, slowly turning into a dirty, muddy brown color. The hood turned black, and a face, a dirty, fleshy face formed under it. His black eyes looked back at the Rhino and the girl, and a grin crept around his scruffy face. Homeless would be much less conspicuous for someone hiding in an alleyway. He pushed back his cloak, that had now formed a blanket, and shuffled inside his black hoody for the package. Rather than pulling the whole thing out, he searched for the paper and pulled out the instructions to read while he observed the others. If he became bored, he should be able to create another duplicate somewhere and play some more.

User ImageRoxanne knodded at her and shrank into her shadow, dissapearing once supergirl left. She soon reappeared in the girl's shadow and looked down at her. "Are you alright? she asked automatically.

The girl watched in horror as her other half faded into nothing. Her heart stopped when the-the thing turned towards her and smiled. She...she physically couldn't move. Every ounce of her was screaming run, but her body was so stiff, it wouldn't budge. All she could do is stare up at him. Her attention was quickly jerked away at the arrival of a flying woman. "help." was all that she could manage. Her voice was so timid and shaky, she doubted the woman heard her.
Whether she did or not didn't matter. Rosie soon found herself in the woman's arms and flying away from the roof. She looked up at the woman and watched her fly away. She stood motionless for a moment, then finally looked around. She, she was far away from him, but she still didn't want to be out in the open. She moved to a wall and curled herself up against it, hugging her leggs as she peered around the corner.
After a moment of deciding that everything was alright, she turned away and looked around her. She'd calmed down enough that she could feel herself trembling and tears finally fell down her face. Rather than tears of sorrow, they were tears of horror.
That thing just killed her. KILLED her. Without a second thought. It really didn't matter if they died, they were duplicates after all. If it were the original, then it would be a problem. But still...she never really thought someone would actually kill a child. And not being the original, duplication was all she had to go on.
A loud sound jerked her attention to the street again. She looked all around, but found nothing. Tears started to fall harder so she burried her face in her knees. She hadn't been "alive" for very long...but she'd never felt so alone or frightened before. She suddenly senced movement directly in front of her and instinctively tried to scramble away.
Her eyes widened when she seen who it was, and within seconds was on her feet and wrapped around Roxanne, clinging to her as tightly as she could...as if she might vanish if she let go. She wanted to say something...anything. But instead of words, all that came out were frightened sobs.

Kara stared at the fallen behemoth for a few more seconds, then shook her head sharply and floated down to check the damage. Apparently, something on him had exploded... though she couldn't find any trace of the 'something' aside from usless bits of paper. Maybe it had been in a package? After glancing around to see if anyone was hurt-- just a formality, really; considering the chaos, the good citizens of Metropolis were staying indoors-- she drifted down to land on the rhino-man's enormous chest. And it was enormous. She was used to big guys; her cousin was 6'5, and built like... well, Superman. Most of his friends, as well as a good number of hers, went along the same lines. This person, however, was a class all by himself. "Wakey, wakey!" she called in a singsong voice. When there was no response, she crouched down and whistled those two, quintessential 'pay attention' notes.

"Uh...Who is that?"

Rhino opened his eyes for a bit and blinked a few times to get the ash out of his eyes. That package was a bit stronger then he thought; it exploded in his face when Rhino impaled it with his horn. Now there was some girl bothering him to wake up; how amusing. Rhino was about to tell off the woman that was bothering him, but he realized that the person bothering him was dressed similar to Superman. Rhino wasn't in the mood to start a fight with a friend of Superman and he wasn't getting paid to. Rhino still had a reputation to keep going as a brute and no was going to change that.

"What do you want runt? Can't you see I wanted to nap for a bit?"

Rhino rubbed his head; it wasn't very often anything could hurt Rhino's thick head, but that bomb packed a mighty punch to his thick skull. Rhino stood up fully and took a quick look around where he thought a street corner use to be. Rhino was obviously in trouble; when he got back to New York, his client was going to get the punch of a lifetime. Till then, Rhino had to deal with this woman in his way. He had no clue who this woman was; Rhino just assumed she was some fan of Superman’s, but on the other hand how did she land on Rhino so fast? She would have to fly in order to do that without him feeling something. That didn't matter at the moment anyway; now Rhino needed to seek some kind of job opportunity.

Kara grinned. She had the sudden suspicion that this guy wasn't the brightest bulb on the christmas tree. And so angry! He was going to be almost fun to deal with after the Reaper. "Oh, is the widdle boy sweeepy? I'm sowwy... But, I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you a few questions," she continued, her tone going from mocking to bored. "What, exactly happened here?" On second thought... It wasn't likely that he would be able to tell her anything she didn't already know, right? Right. Might as well enjoy herself. Let off a little steam. "How, exactly, did you get to be so ugly? Was it sticking your face in a blender, or playing in traffic? Also, did you happen to graduate from high school? No, that's not fair. How about 8th grade? Did you graduate from 8th grade?" She winced. "Oh, no, that's not exactly sportsmanlike, either. Kindergarten?"

User ImageThe Reaper turned his attention away from the paper and turned towards the girl with a grin, then laughed a bit. Had a mouth on her, didn't she? Likely still releasing some steam that he caused. He doubted that the man would stand for such talk either. As big as he was...and the bomb that obviously did nothing to him. Hm, looked like he'd have dinner and a show.

User ImageThe child's reaction caught her off guard and she stood there staring down at the girl for a few moments. Finally she put her arms around the girl to let her know it was alright. "Easy, I'm here. It's alri-"she trailed off. It wasn't alright, it really wasn't. She just left the girls alone to get the fight out of her system. And then she couldn't even think straight enough to take care of the thing that killed on of them.
Panic was a rare emotion for her, but when it happened it hit her hard.
Same for guilt. Perhaps more so.
She could feel tears start to form and covered her face with her hand. She hated to cry in front of anyone. She just did. And it wouldn't help the girl at the moment. Taking a deep breath, she picked the girl up and hugged her tightly. "It's alright. I'm gonna get you home now. Ok?" she said. She had to get her head back in the game. Do what needed to be done. She could repremand herself more later.

"You..."

Rhino hesitated for a moment; he was about to hit a woman, but his anger blinded his common courtesy. Woman or no, this lady was really getting on Rhino's sensitive nerves. Rhino was easily drawn into a fight just like when Web Head insulted him every time they met. Heroes were obviously insensitive then since every good guy that Rhino always ran into made fun of his lacking intelligence.

"That's a bad way to get answers from me runt!"

Rhino wasn't going to use his full strength on a woman unless he really needed to, so he brought his right hand to the woman's face and sent a flick using his index finger right at her nose. Rhino was huge in size, a behemoth in other words and a flick from him was quite powerful compared to say a flick from somebody else with as much strength as him. Rhino was underestimating this woman's abilities, but he didn't know that and was a sure the flick from his hand would send her flying into the wall and he could be off to other business.

Batgirl saw the trio leave the city ans found her motorcycle and started to follow. They couldn't be up to any good and she figurewd she could stop whatever disaster they cause before they cause it.

Kara let him flick her nose, and, of course, it did absolutely nothing, aside from possibly injuring his finger. Her smiled widened a bit, and the expression in her eyes took on a smug quality. "Well, you know, I decided that answers probably weren't your strong point. I'm Supergirl, by the way." She pointed to the 'S' on her chest. "'Super' plus 'girl' equals 'Supergirl'. Just thought I'd spell it out for the guy who decided to dress up as one of the top ten dumbest mammals on the planet."

"Why you..."

Rhino always wanted to test his strength against someone who could actually match it since Web Head always lacked the strength Rhino wanted to fight. Rhino drew back his hand and looked at Super Girl for a moment with an anger look on his face. Rhino wasn't going to let some little 'girl' make fun of him for no reason; he was the victim here. Rhino lifted up his right foot and set the sole of his foot flying straight towards Super Girl in the sense of kicking her. That flick was nothing compared to Rhino's true power he possessed and he was going to unleash it all when he was angry.

"My foot plus your face equals shut up!"

Rhino was always tired of being treated like an idiot; he wasn't the smartest villain around, but that wasn't his fault. The place he grew up in didn't have proper education while this smug girl probably got an education at some fancy American school; why was he to blame for his stupidity?

Kara calmly stepped out of the way and grabbed his extended leg, then swung him around her body and let go, sending him crashing through a nearby light pole. "Of course it does," she said encouragingly, "As is evidenced by the fact that I'm no longer talking." Her eyes suddenly widened in false surprise, and she brought up a hand to cover her mouth. "Oh, wait... I'm still talking, aren't I? Oopsy daisy." This was perfect. After the frustrating episode on the roof, a simple, straightforward fight that she would win, both verbally and physically, was exactly what she needed.

((Edit: Oh, s**t. Was that godmoding? sweatdrop I'm sorry if it was, and I'll change it if it's a problem. It's a pretty fine line with Supergirl.))

User ImageThe Reaper didn't smiled as the man was flung closer to him. Now he'd be able to really see the fight. He was still on the other side of the street, and it wouldn't matter if something happened anyway. Hm, he supposed he would let the brat and the woman from his world go for now, this was more interesting. Speaking of which, he'd have to test how much of her power he'd obtained later.

//ooc: Yeah, with powerful character's it's hard not to because of their abilities....but with some of the other posts that have happened, this seems ok. As long as the other person gets a few hits in (whether it does much damage or not) it's ok.//
PostPosted: Sat Feb 28, 2009 12:34 pm

"You are really getting on my nerves!"

Rhino recovered from being tossed with relative ease; his polymer suit made his resistant to a great deal to physical damage. So one toss into a pole wasn't going to bring him down anytime soon and he would keep going till he won or was disposed of.

"You'll have to do a lot better than that to bring Rhino down!"

Rhino got up from the small crater he made on the street and the dent in the pole, causing a mild shake of the ground from his weight. Rhino not only had his strength, but he was quite fast for his size as well. Rhino snorted a bit and lowered his head, stamping his feet on the ground. With a yell, Rhino started running forward at a speed that seemed almost impossible for someone of his behemoth size, but he was doing it straight towards Super Girl. Rhino was known for drawing out any fight for a long time, usually his stamina would out last his opponent and he would win easy, but this woman obviously had related powers to Superman and maybe could last as long as he did.

((It's fine.))

Kara's eyes widened innocently. "Who, me? I thought we were just getting to know each other." She waited until he was within range, then reached out with one hand, grabbed his horn, and pulled it sideways and down, expecting to easily slide the giant off his feet and down to the ground. "Is that 'better', Rhino?" she asked sweetly, "Gosh, that is an original name, isn't it? How ever did you come up with that?"
