He sensed something explosive in Tunda's expression that quickly subsided. Something like a head rush passed by and Mel chuckled, heading for the freezer. It was the only way to keep something like that unless someone had plans for it. "Sure... let's see... shrimp, shrimp, shrimp..." He lifted a brow, pulling something unidentifiable out and setting it aside before going back in. That was scary... Finally, he pulled out a bag, holding it up for Tunda to see. "Shrimp in stir fry veggies?" he asked dubiously.

Tunda didn't particularly care for veggies, but, since they were mixed in with the shrimp he gives a small smile and a meek nod. "Yes please..?" His voice was barely above a whisper as he ducks his head down once again.

Mel nodded and closed the freezer. "All right then. Lunch should be ready shortly." As he went about preparing the meal, which admittedly was one of the simplest ones available, the dragon was very happy. How many decisions and opinions had Tunda made in the past five minutes? Hopefully he wouldn't consciously notice.

Tunda kicks his good leg out slightly, feeling a bit uneasy on the stool. He had certainly noticed that he'd made some decisions, but, strangely, in Mel's presence, that didn't bother him as much. It isn't as if they were huge decisions that really required much thought on the matter. If it came to a decision like that, he didn't think he could make one at all, truth be told.

The kettle whistled before the ramen had finished cooking, since the veggies required longer to cook. After pouring their tea, Mel carried their cups over so that Tunda at least had something in front of him. He grinned at the pokemon when he did, then turned back to the stove and finished that up too. He brought their bowls over. "Chopsticks or silverware? Oh, also if you'd like we can move over to the living room, the couch is probably a lot more comfortable for your leg than a bar stool."

Tunda blinks, sipping at the tea gingerly as he thought of the question. To move would cause more work for Mel, who had already done so much for Tunda over the past few days. However, the thought of a comfortable place to sit appealed greatly to the former slave. He frowns down at his tea, keeping his hands wrapped around it as he warred silently with himself over the decision. The Chopsticks or silverware question completely forgotten over his latest dilemma.

Hm. If they went in the other room, they'd have to decide on something to watch. Unless someone was already out there, then it could be anything from soaps to sports. Since Tunda had not answered the utensil question, he put both in front of him. They weren't the cheap wooden ones you have to pull apart either. They were fancy, if obviously well-used. Mel's preference for now was just silverware, though he liked the chopsticks on special occasions (though others around here ate with them all the time). He wandered off to get two trays for them in case Tunda wanted to move after all.

Tunda stares at the utensils for a moment before cautiously picking up the fork. His hands didn't feel steady enough to handle chopsticks, especially not ones so ornate looking. He looks up as Mel moves off again, a small sound escaping him before he shakes his head. "H-here is fine." He says, nodding rapidly. "Y-you've done too much already."

"Really? Do you think so?" He probably would have done this kind of thing for anyone under the roof who happened to be sick or otherwise helpless to care for himself. But he hadn't really thought about it before, except as something that had to be done and he just happened to be there to do it. "Are you sure? It's no trouble. I'm just worried about making things easier for you. It's hard enough already, without all your injuries on top of it."

Tunda nods at the questions, blowing carefully on a forkful of food before taking a bite. His eyes half-closed, a low purr escaping him at the taste. Even the veggies made it good, it seemed! He looks back at Mel, blushing darkly due to his reaction to the seafood, and nods again before speaking again. "Y-Yeah, I'm sure. Y-you've done so much for me, stuff that you really didn't need to do, just to t-try to make me f-feel more n-normal."

Mel shrugged at the other's reply. He wasn't going to push the issue. But he was made curious by the other's blushing. Was the soup too hot? He gave Tunda a look as he sat down but it gave way to a grin as he replied, "Well, everyone deserves to feel normal, or whatever they consider to be normal. It usually has something to do with being comfortable, and I don't think I've really seen you that way since I met you." He spun some ramen around with his fork and blew on it. The stuff was steaming like crazy.

Tunda smiles again, then nods slightly, finding himself very comfortable with Mel's presence, at least, even if he wasn't used to making decisions just yet. "A-as long as y-you are t-there so f-far, anywhere is c-comfortable, s-since you k-keep the b-bad pe-people away."

"Oh. Well..." Mel flushed but was promptly assaulted by angry, scalding noodles, allowing him to hide most of it in their heat. When he had them under control and had managed to wash them down with some tea, he mumbled, "I hope you find that any true friend would do that for you. It's not just me." He couldn't rely on Mel forever, and he knew that Tunda likely realized that, so he did not mention it. And hell, he kept forgetting that Tunda was a feline, so he could always go to Iggy, Keahi, or any number of people for help or friendship. Maybe he should make sure Tunda fell in with them soon. 'Accidentally on purpose.'

Tunda nods slowly, knowing this to be true, but finding it a little hard to believe, for the time being. He turns to his own ramen once again and starts eating with gusto, blowing on it so that it was cool enough to scarf down, then proceeding to do just that, purring all the while.

Mel glanced sideways over at Tunda and grinned seeing him eating so enthusiastically. Then he concentrated on his own food, actually preferring to eat in silence. His tail swished contentedly while he ate.
