Sirius Silverstar I'm looking for new music... Does anyone have any suggestions for artists or good songs? I've been listening to Fiona Apple and Psapp a lot lately. I find that I like crispy/sparkly music, sounds that are percussive and clear. (Like clean electric or acoustic guitars, pianos, synths, breakbeats, etc.) But I'm kind of down for anything right now; slow, fast, bluesy, folksy, jazzy, shake-my-assy. Check out last.fm. razz Check out Tunng, My Brightest Diamond, TV on the Radio, The Good The Bad & The Queen and Yann Tiersen. That's the latest batch of indie bands I fell in love with. razz

I dunno what to suggest, 'cause you probably already listen to a lot of the stuff that comes to mind. ):Aw, you know a lot more people than I do... I also only have a few songs by most artists, so even song suggestions by artists I already know would be awesome. :3 I've always liked your taste in music. (Or at least, I liked all the things you sent me that one time years ago, hehe. <3) [edit] @Aldo - Haha, I do have last.fm! But the things they suggest for me usually are by genre, and... it gets boring seeing all these famous classical composers I already know of after awhile. xD I enjoy picking through my friends' collections, it exposes me to things I never would've thought of listening to. So I shall happily be borrowing those artists you named. >;3

My favorites by her are Skeleton Song, Foundations, Mariella, and Merry Happy.
Also Regina Spektor and Feist are good, but I think you probably have already heard them.

I've never listened to Kate Nash before!
Yes, I love love love Feist and recently got bought a few songs by Regina Spektor (after hearing her collab song with Ben Folds.) I only have "Love Affair" and "Us" and "Apres Moi" though. D:

Playing the recommendations channel or the neighbourhood usually brings up a random selection of fun stuff. Hell, today I even got a rant by Lewis Black tossed in. xD

Aivi should try Apocalyptica. Metal played by cellists.
Also, Epica and Kamelot. 3nodding

Ryan loves Yann Tiersen. <3
I did a piano cover of "Comptine" from Amelie on YouTube for Aeo, but took it down because the sound quality was bad. :[
I looked up Kate Nash on iTunes and immediately bought Merry Happy, before checking back here to see what songs Reddy liked, haha.
Metal by cellists! Seems hardcore. *loves cellos*
[Edit] OK, I just looked up Tunng. Wow. <3 When I said crispy music with clean sounds, Aldo delivered. xD

You should look up their video "I Don't Care" on Youtube. It's not being friendly with me right now.
The video is nifty, but I prefer the songs where they don't have a guest vocalist. It just distracts from the instruments. I like their "Hall of the Mountain King." I think it's actually a classical piece (sounds like a metal title, though), but they make it heavy.

Yann Tiersen is awesome. pirate You should play another one of Yann Tiersen's Aivi. /domo
The only thing new to me that I have to offer are Kerli, and Jeff Beck. Jeff Beck has been around forever(60s) but I just found out about him like two days ago, and been looking for music of his. The two favorites I have listened to are "Brush With The Blues" and "Suspension".
But I've got to check out Apocalyptica, I love cellos but don't listen to them very often. crying

Yes, Hall of the Mountain King is a classical piece, feel ashamed for not knowing that. razz It was composed by Edvar Grieg for the opera Peer Gynt. The most famous version around here is the hardcore house version by Thunderdome. ... Why yes, I do know too much about music some times. redface Goldfrapp is smoooooooth, I like. biggrin Apocalyptica I've heard before, it's uh kitsch, but fun kitsch.
