Carlos glanced up at Adrian curiously. "Okay, what would you like to do then?" He squirmed out of the rat's embrace and stretched deeply.

Adrian stood up when Carlos squirmed out his lap and turned off the movie. "I don't know. You were working on a car weren't you? We could go and do that, if you want."

Carlos stood up and stretched again. Cat stuff. "Oh yes, my mustang is finished. Just need to get a little better at driving it," he chuckled. "I started on a new project recently! A friend of a friend and I are going to build a monster truck. I think it's going to be a lot of fun." Mentioning it reminded him of an idea he had had that first day. He got very quiet. When was Adrian's birthday? "What kind of car do you like?"

"Oh, okay. So you haven't crashed it yet? That's good. A monster truck? You guys going to do anything with it?" Adrian shrugged. "One that goes? I don't really know that much about cars other than the fact that they get you from one place to another and that they can kill people."

Carlos blushed. "Well... no major accidents." Jimi was actually a good teacher. He wasn't going to give Carlos the opportunity to totally freak out and crash, this early on. "Yeah, a monster truck. We were bored and said things like, 'you know what would be cool? a monster truck,'" he laughed. Amanita was really an amusing guy. "You drive though right?" Maybe he'd have to pick something out. Hopefully his dad would help in that case...

"Must have been pretty bored to come up with something as stu--silly as that." Adrian was about to call it stupid, but didn't want to upset Carlos too much. "Yeah, I know how to drive. I just don't have a car or anything. Why?"

Carlos blushed a little and looked away. "Yeah we were pretty much just being weird and bored. Plus I was looking for a new project to start. I think he wants the truck when we're done with it, so he can be loud and obnoxious back at his place." He was talking about a demon who had a GWAR tattoo. Of course it was going to be loud (audibly and color-wise) and obnoxious. Carlos refused to airbrush obscene figures on it though.
He looked back at Adrian and fidgeted a little. "Well... I was kind of thinking of surprising you with one of your own, for your birthday or something. It was going to be a surprise, but since you sounded interested I thought maybe you could help me with it. You could help pick out designs and stuff, if you want."

"So you were being yourselves and that lead you to monster trucks, sounds about right for you." Adrian stared at Carlos. "You want to get me a car? Why? And how would you even know when to get me one, you don't know when my birthday is." That came out meaner than the rat meant, but he can't take it back now. "It's June 6th," he added.

"Me? In a monster truck?" Carlos laughed. The idea sounded ridiculously silly. Yet, if Amanita hadn't planned to take it, what would he have done with it? Hm... "Yes you, and why not? It's what I'm good at, and you don't already have one."

Adrian shrugged. "I can see it. You're crazy enough to hang around me, so why not a monster truck?" He moved to pick up the leftovers from their lunch/dinner. "Do you think I need a car?" he asked curiously.

Carlos moved to help, since half of the leftovers were his anyway. He liked to help. "Oh... I don't know," he shrugged. He hadn't really thought of it like that. But he hadn't started so if Adrian didn't want one he could simply not build one for him. "If you don't want one, I'll make you something else."

Adrian took the stuff into the kitchen and threw away the stuff that was trash and put the other stuff in the sink. "You don't have to make me anything. I wasn't trying to be mean about the car, you know."

"I know... but what do you want for your birthday?" the unicat asked. He really would like to know what he could possibly give Adrian that would make him smile. He followed suit, putting dishes and trash away before washing his hands at the sink.

Adrian shrugged. "I don't want anything for my birthday. It's pointless to celebrate something that happens everyday to everyone." The rat didn't have very happy birthday memories and he really didn't see the point of celebrating the day you were born.

Carlos grimace a little then crossed his arms over his chest. "Then I'll just have to give you random gifts at random times for no reason at all. And you're not allowed to ask 'why'" he added, sticking his tongue out at Adrian.
