"Only a bit longer until what?" she asked, seeing the change in him and becoming worried. "You always seem so mysterious, Nathan... what is it that's got you so by the neck?"
Kitty wasn't sure he would answer that. She wasn't sure if all this talk of darling was enough for him to truly open up. But she wanted to help and to know so she could make some kind of difference that wasn't just serving as company...

He furrowed his brow, his hands coming together, clenching each other tightly. "...." He sighed a bit before breaking down. "Before I'm done. I'm tired of living in this so called fast lane, I'm tired of not knowing who I am, I'm tired of running around, I'm tired of being alone, I'm tired of all of this...." He spilt it all out before he even relaized he had.
He rubbed the bridge of his nose tiredly. "Im just...so tired..." He sighed, not even realizing he was saying all this. Though for all she knew, he was simply talking about his work life. Which in a way he was.
"I keep saying...'just once more and I'll quit. One more job and I'll retire and be happy for once...'...I just cant seem to do it...." He shook his head, 'Samon' shining through for a brief moment instead of Nathan...

Kitty reached over to take both of his hands in hers. That outpouring was what she had hoped he would do, just so she could try and fix that worried undertone he always had.
"If something opens up for my shop... want me to hire you? It's rather peaceful, most days. And you could help people with all that you know. I mean, it probably doesn't pay as much as your job does right now, but..."
Kitty stopped to laugh a little. "It's worth a shot, right?"

Samson tensed when she took his hands, his heart breaking at her little offer. His eyes met her's and for a moment, he felt... cared for. She didnt Just want to sleep with him, she didn't want his money..she wanted a relationship. Samson had never had such a desire until recently. His constant Apartment shuffling and running had finally caught up to him. He was tired of it. He kept telling himself that after one more job he'd quit this hussler life and settle down maybe... or at least attempt a normal life...
Really it had all come down to the fact that Samson indeed had a heart. Not a gaping whole of blackness he had thought he had bilt up over the years...
Maybe this could be it.... the chance he was looking for to start over...
He smiled at Kitty warmly. "Maybe...I'd have to think about it..." He nodded hopefully. "I've got money I've saved up since I was a teen, and its grown to quite the substansial amount since my...business, has bloomed...I just...need to cut off some old ties that are holding me back you know?" He sighed, squeezing her hands for a moment.

"Okay, but you'll also have to stop being so mysterious all the time... I can't help you if I don't know what you're up against." Kitty broke one hand free so she could take a sip of her drink. How awful it must have been to have ties that needed to be broken, and business deals that couldn't be broken so easily. Her life was rather easy to manage, she realized. Maybe Nathan's was something entirely different than what she expected...
"But I will help you. Alright?"

Nathan released her hand and sat back a bit, not sure it was going to be that easy. "...Alright Kitty..." Was all he said as he took a sip of his own coffee...
Really, Samson was starting to care for her deep down... Maybe though, if he really wanted her safe and happy, he'd just leave. He'd get the job done and just disappear... maybe he could even just carry this out, then return later on as himself, and start over fresh...Yes...taht could work...
His mind reeled with various ideas as he silently sipped on his coffee, though realized he must have been making it a bit awkward. "...Thank you Kitty...I do apologize for being so shut in but its really all I know..." He sighed, taking a bite of brownie.

"Well then, we'll get you more familiar with opening up." Kitty sounded kind and determined, and she once more offered him a piece of her bagel.
Alex, however, was determined to see him shut up and leave her alone. He had been watching them for a minute or so, seeing their clasped hands and the way Kitty so willingly gave him her heart and promises. But this guy couldn't be real, he thought. Something bigger had to be going on.
But what?
He couldn't get ahold of Jess until his break, making this all the more frustrating.

Nathan smiled and nodded, though turned down her bagel offer, saying he was already getting full. Though he felt a tad uneasy..as if they were being watched. Though it wasnt too threatening so he figured it was just Alex or some other nosey patron...
All Nahtan was concerned with however was how on earth he was going ot make this all work...

"You know," Kitty said between sips of her coffee, "This may sound silly, but you've finally made my life more exciting than anything I've been reading lately. I've always wanted that, and now, it's real."
She laughed a little awkwardly at herself and lifted her eyes to see his reaction to all that. Maybe it was a bit much to say so soon, but it felt right to her, and she wanted nothing more than to compare her words with the ones he had said before. If she was beautiful, charming, then he was just something that didn't belong in reality at all.

Nathan cocked an eyebrow at that. He chuckled alittle, but not at her. "...Generally people dont look for the type of excitement in their lives that comes with being involved with me..." He sighed, looking at her evenly. She was so lovely... She made it sound like a few weeks with him had been a dream come true... Maybe Samson had let this go on too long...but then again he couldnt bring himself to pull away from her...

"You keep saying that, but I cannot see what you're talking about." Kitty leaned in from her seat to try and maybe see if just being closer to him would help her understand. "Ballrooms, fireworks, limousines... leaving gloves at my shop. Maybe not every day, but that hardly seems like something people wouldn't want at least once."

Nathan sighed, smiling solemnly, though furrowed his brow, taking her hand in his. "Kitty...I'm not-" He was cut off by his communicator going off. His heart jumped, cursing silently as he glanced down and grimaced. "...Thats for me...I've got... a meeting, in an hour I need to get ready for...would you mind if we headed back now?" he asked disappointed and irritated they had toalways end htings arubtly.
"..Actually yes this is good...I can end one of the biggest burdens in my life right now with this meeting..." He smiled determindly though there was a slight distant almost unnoticable fear in his eyes;.

"Then we'll go now!" Her disappointment was washed over by the idea of Nathan being able to end some strife in his life that very day.
Alex, however, was rejoicing in the fact that they were leaving, because he was on his break and was loathe to share that time talking to Jess and looking over his shoulder.
He popped out his communicator and dialed her number, waiting for her to answer while he still had them in sight.

Nathan smiled and stood, retrieving her coat and holding it out for her to slip on. "Alright..Thank you so much Kitty..." He practically laughed, feeling light headed and happy for once in his life.
Meanwhile Jess answered her communicator with a smile, able to talk since things in Kitty's store were a bit slow. "Hey what's up?" She seemed perky at just the thought of hearing from Alex. "You run into Kitty and her strange man?" She chuckled, balancing the phone on her shoulder as she stacked some books in the back out of their shipping boxes.

Kitty and Nathan made their way out of the cafe, pausing for a moment outside the door. Alex looked just in time to see Kitty giving Nathan a kiss, something that made his blood boil for a second.
"Okay, first question: do you know anything about this guy at all?"
That was his first question, and maybe his only one depending on her answer.
