Terrie smiled modestly. "Thanks." She said softly. Watching closely, she nodded in undertstanding and reached to pull apart the peaches. This she was a little less than graceful at, but a few ragged edges wouldn't make much matter. "There."

Thankful that the syrupy water mix boiled quickly, Emris grabbed a few of the peach parts. "Here...I'll show you how it's done." Taking a piece at a time the foxtaur gently dropped them into the boiling golden mix so none of it splashed.
Then using a long wooden spoon Emris stirred the peaches down into it and added a couple more. "Basically you just keep watch over it and stir occasionally but then after a bit you take it from the fire and let the preserves cool down a tad before putting the preserves in their jars. And maybe add a tiny amount of sugar or honey while you stir if you really want the preserves to be sweet."
Emris then took some of the honey from another jar sitting nearby and dipped the tip of the spoon in it and placed it in the mix that way while he stirred it good.

Terrie watched closely. Seemed simple enough. She grabbed a cloth and started wiping down the jars to make sure they were clean. "Will these be worth more than the raw peaches, since it's more work?"

Emris stirred again before looking back over at Terrie. "Yes, or that's how it usually goes." He chuckled softly and stirred the bubbly mix once more, "I'm hoping the allure of these preserves show up again tomorrow." His attention got fixed on the peaches again and the foxtaur softly hummed while he stirred.
"It should be good now..." Emris stated with a quick glance over at Terrie before he moved. Then after carefully picking up the cauldron Emris moved right next to the hearth and placed the still hot cauldron over a short shelf like table made of stone. "Now to let it cool some before putting it in the jars."

Terrie smiled happily, eyeing the peaches. Who'd have thought she'd be building her home with peaches? She giggled, then crossed her arms to relax and wait. "Who taught you all this? Your parents?"

Emris blushed faintly and gave a short nod. "My...mother and another taught me some." He replied trying not to bring up the thoughts of an embarrassing moment from his past. Recovering Emris moved his gaze away and back to the peaches. "I need to get some other things together as well...do you mind watching this Terrie? Use the spoon to dip out the preserves and fill the jars to the top whenever the mix isn't to hot just warm."
So with another quick nod the blushing foxtaur made way down the hallway and out of Terrie's sight. "I seriously do have to gather things..." He whispered to himself as a small excuse.

Terrie cocked her head. Another? What did that mean? She looked at her hands and bit her lip. She couldn't help to wonder why Emris would give someone such an evasive title. She nodded and walked over to the pot. "Sure I can. No problem." She watched Emris as he left and shook her head. It wasn't her place to pry. So she swallowed her curiousness and set to stirring.

Moving through the stored items in his cellar, Emris about gave up before noting the chest shoved in the corner. "Ah hah!" He exclaimed with a goofy grin while setting down the lantern he had been using to help with the faint light. Opening the chest the foxtaur removed several packages that though somewhat big looking were quite light.
Tucking the packages under his arm Emris headed back towards the kitchen with a calm expression finally back on his face.

Stirring the preserves with one hand, Terrie's other hand was busy twirling a loose strand of her hair. Her mind was always wandering to Emris in a very unbusiness-like manner. The way the breeze tousled his hair, the knowledgable look in his eyes as he worked, the light making his pale skin glow, the cuddly tail. Everything was drawing her thoughts away, and she almost forgot to pull out the halves from the syrup. Pawsteps echoing from the hall made her gasp gently and she hurried to fill at least one jar. She didn't want to look like she'd been slacking.

Entering the kitchen Emris only glanced up to see if Terrie was doing fine. Which it looked good to him so the foxtaur went to the table instead and dumped the packages down. "This will be fun." He muttered sarcastically as he started to try sorting through them. Right now there was only one certain thing he was looking for and that wasn't something to sell at the market.

Terrie kept her eyes down, lest Emris had the ability to read her thoughts through them. But his muttering made her glance quickly at him, back to the pot, and back again to the table. "What are those?" She asked in wonder, walking over for a closer look.

Moving quickly Emris spread his arms and upper body over the packages. "Nothing!" He yelped in surprise as Terrie moved closer. "I mean...you'll see soon." He chuckled sheepishly and still attempted to cover the goods from her sight.

Terrie jumped at emris' reaction to her question, and wasn't sure if she felt put off or intrigued. "I better. Or else..." She said, pointing/shaking a finger at him before turning back to the pot. What was he hiding...?

Emris just chuckled before secretly sorting through more of the items. After he figured out each package he placed it next to him covered and opened another. Surely that one thing he was looking for was in here somewhere. Teasingly the foxtaur also made sure to whistle loudly while Terrie's back was turned. 'Ah...this has to be the right set....or is it.' He questioned opening the next to last package.

Terrie worked on filling another jar, peeking back at the table with every couple halves she put in. Apparently, his reaction had intrigued, and his playful whistling was making her even more curious. If she didn't get to see soon, she thought she'd wack him with the spoon.
