Lucind Varhetel Lucind had just asked to get a better idea of his mind's condition and she'd already wondered before what Kraun might think if he would see himself fighting against Vahn in her memory. Some time later, Latent's business flowed past and around them and for a moment Lucind wished back the forest's silence. Back at Feimurgan the woman was looking forward a shower. First though, she found a nice vase for the flowers and placed it on the windowsill of her room. The monk follwed Lucind into her room to set her things down. As she went to go take a shower, the monk headed downstairs into the cellar and put the plants down on a surface as he searched the room. A few minutes later, he produced a small ceramic pot, which then he went outside and put a little bit of dirt into it, careful not to disturb the garden in the back of the cafe as he went back down into his room in the cellar. Some of the plants, he had kept the stems and roots intact, which not, he potted small samples of them into the container. The others, he left on the table for now. With the pot filled with plant samples, though not too much, as there was still room for them to grow, he reached up and placed it against the windowsill so that it may get some sunlight from outside. Back to the plants on the table, he began to sort them out, unbundling them and laying them down neatly next to each other for easy access.

A good training and a long shower - a satisfying way for Lucind to start into the day. After dressing she walked into the kitchen and made a fruit salad. It hadn't been much what she ate for breakfast therefore she was hungry again.
She got herself a newspaper - an regional paper for the whole province of Barton - and took place on the sideboard with a bowl of salad. While browsing through the pages Lucind pondered if there was anything else she could show Kraun or teach him before the normal working week started tomorrow, on Tuesday.

After finishing his small task, Kraun removed the dirty robe and wore his usual dark attire without a top, not bothering to put on another set of the robes. He went back up into the cafe and into the library and started to go through the books, looking for something which may give him more information on the herbs and flowers he had collected this morning.

She finished her snack and then walked through the building to find the monk.
When she found him in the library Lucind noticed he studied about plants and herbs. "May I disturb?" She tilted her head and smiled softly.
The woman told him she was going to add some new books to the organizing and security system. But later on, in the afternoon she wanted to walk into the town once more to visit a furnishing store. "You know, I'd really like to find another chair or maybe a small sofa for your room." Lucind shrugged. "Something more comfortable. - If you don't mind, that is."

He looked up from the pages of the book he was looking through as Lucind came in. Listening intently to her proposition, he nodded once and replied, "I do not mind. This is your home afterall. Do what you like." he said simply.
Going back to what she told him about going into town, he wondered if she was telling him this because she wanted him to go along with her, and so, he simply asked this. "Do you wish for me to accompany you into town?"

"Well, yes but I wouldn't place another piece of furniture in your room if I knew you don't like it..." She shrugged.
"Yes, I'd like you to come with me," the Half-Siren answered with a smile.

The monk nodded and brought his eyes back down onto the book at hand, skimming over the pages as he looked for notes on the plants. Occupied with the volume until afternoon, Kraun finally put it back onto the shelf in the same spot he found it in.
He went back down the stairs to the first floor, looking for Lucind to see if she was ready to go yet, and if she wasnt here, he'd take a seat and wait, as he believed that she would leave from the front door rather than jump out a window or something.

By the time Lucind heard him coming down the stairs into the cafe she had enough of staring at the screen and entering new book titles, their registry number ans whatnot. Her eyes were mildly burning so she saved her last step and ran down the computer.
She peeked out of the kitchen and waved. "I'll be ready in a minute!" Lucind took the last sips of tea in her cup and went up to her room to kick her slippers through the room and get into shoes. Grapping a small, dark-lilac bag containing purse, keys etc. while putting on her coat, the woman then walked to Kraun to leave the store with him for another time.
She would lead him to a furnishing and decoration store, a huge shop indeed, yet its interior was arranged in a thoughtful way, making sure the customers wouldn't feel lost in just one large room. The light falling on the products was warm, yellowish and classical music played in the background. The Half-Siren wanted to show Kraun the different styles of seating furniture: (arm, rocking)chairs, beanbags, small couches and so on to see if he might like any of them.
((guess you can copy the last passage into your next post, when you're jumping into the Latent thread))

After figuring out that a normal spectacle frame with normal glasses made it possible that one could look into Kraun's eyes without being hit by their soul piercing curse, it was a lot more easier to integrate the monk into Feimurgan's weekdays.
Of course, he still preferred to spend most of the day for himself, but Lucind also could assign him to small tasks. For he had already learned to cook at the monastery, it was easy for him to help preparing snacks in the kitchen on the first floor, for example. The Half-Siren made sure, though, that he mostly worked together with Kara for he seemed to be less intimidated by his aura.
Whenever possible Lucind brought short lessons about communication and interaction, to show him the 'dark' side of people and give more explanations of their twisted and odd motives and habits.
After they'd closed on Saturday night and everyone prepared to leave, Lucind asked Kraun in a quiet moment if he was still interested in seeing some scenes of his past.

The monk was just finishing cleaning the area up when Lucind asked him that question. The first time was at the monastery a couple weeks back, and now it was brought up again. "If you still wish to show me, then I will accept your offer." he replied, "And do you still wish to see through my eyes?" he asked in return, seeing as she was going to make a mental link with him anyways.
His expression never changed and neither did his tone of voice, speaking casually as he finished cleaning the last of the tables.

She heaved a little sigh. "Kraun... Yes, I'd like to show you some of my memories - but you don't have to see if you don't want to. I mean...," she searched for words and her eyes wandered rentlessly over the floor and some of the girls giggled in the background while cleaning the tables," sometimes I get the impression that nothing really matters to you."
The woman ran a hand through her dark blue strands and started the dishwasher. "But maybe it's just not possible to truly care for anything when you can't feel something for it," she added more to herself.
"And no, I don't want to see through your eyes...or well, I want to, but I can't do that without being supported from at least my clanleader. And she refused to aid me. So I guess it's too risky for now." Lucind smiled at him but something in her eyes reminded one of the look she wore the morning after speaking to Hetel.
"You know, I would create a so called 'soul mirror'. It's like watching TV, or in this case my memories displayed on a small water curtain." She rummaged in the refrigerator and took out an apple.

It was amazing how close to the truth that was. He simple did not care because he did not feel.
The monk followed the half-siren into the kitchen and watched her operate the washing machine and grab a bite from the fridge. "If you wish it, then I will support you." he said very simply. What better support was there than from the one who had to put up with the cursed vision the most? And not only that, but like Lucind had lectured him before, everyone had a dark side. And Kraun, being who he was, who does not judge other people for what they are, somehow had a feeling that Lucind was not always one to follow orders. It might have been the mix of human blood which would cause this, which he had learned that humans are a very impulsive and chaotic kind of being, or it might not be.

She just stood there, sucking on her lower lip, smelling at the apple and frowning. Kraun's offer quickened her pulse. It was too tempting. And still implying a certain risk. He had said nobody had tried to see through his eyes before, so how would he know what to do to create a security net to prevent a mental overkill?
Another sigh. The Half-Siren straightened, tilted her head back and closed her eyes for a second.
"Okay."
Turning her head to look sidewards at the man she nodded thoughtfully. "Okay, let's give it a try."
Lucind left the kitchen to see if the others were ready, forgetting to eat the apple.

"Then I shall do so tomorrow." Kraun stated very simply as Lucind walked away. He needed time to prepare a ritual. But what she wanted to show him could probably be done tonight, or so he thought.
He took the uneaten apple and placed it back into the refrigerator before he left the kitchen in a breeze of black robes which trailed after his silent form and into the main floor's large room.

About half an hour later Kraun and Lucind were alone at Feimurgan. Or almost, for the kitchen crew down in the cellar was still busy.
After having a vanilla cappuccino the woman led him out to the backside of the building and knelt down in front of the pond and waited for the monk to follow her. Just like she did back in Hetel's cabin, she extended her arms so that her palms hovered about half a metre over the surface.
Staring down, Lucind murmured, then sang a conjuration, asking Var for letting her create a soul mirror which made the water spirits react to her: first single drops, then thin trickles rose from the surface to wind themselves around her hands. After only some seconds though, they splashed back.
Lucind's eyes were still fixed on the dark, glimmering surface that now became alive: concentric circles spread directly in front of her. In the center of them a fountain started to bubble, growing taller and broader and stretched to form a thin, slightly bending curtain of water. Barely touching the veil, Lucind held her hand outstretched and sung a short melody to open a new seal she had made after speaking to Hetel. When the women had finished their conversation Lucind had scanned her memories to pick out some older scenes from the stadium when she had seen Kraun, sitting in the stands or visiting the old book-cafe.
By repeating the melody a second time she established a minor spiritual connection to the water, allowing to transfer the mental images. Unlike during soul or mind invasions, Lucind now was aware of her surrounding, that is, more or less, for she always felt a bit dazed when she had to work with such a soul mirror, like being intoxicated.
Although this 'screen' was made of water, the quality of the shown scenes was pretty good. Only a few, faint ripples distorted the surface from time to time.
After showing Kraun these old memories she opened the seal she had created back in the Dead Forest on the day of the arena's end, to store her memories of the mayhem in the stadium and the fight against The Destroyer. She let the 'mental video' run and waited for any reaction of him.
