*Comes back in triumphantly with a small plastic storage container, and sits back into his seat with it, snapping it open*
*Pulls out two rather cute and innocent looking puppets- one of Harry himself, and the other of Gilderoy, and puts them on his hands, ignoring Godfrey's writhing and put-on moans of terror*
They always begin with 'when a mommy and daddy love each other very much' in the movies. *Grins proudly at his hand-crafted teaching tools* So I thought this would be a more entertaining way to explain things.
*Reaches down into the box, pulling out a small purple doll-dress, complete with peach coloured little balls placed discretely on the inside that were obviously supposed to be boobs, and holds it up against the Gilderoy puppet with the Harry Puppet's arms, 'transforming' him from the Daddy figure to the 'Mommy' for the other side of the talk. Of course, the dress was just made for the Gilderoy puppet because it had longer, blonde yarn hair and looked more 'mommy' like*

*Pauses in his reaching for Roderick's bib, slightly raising an eyebrow at the puppets*
*Makes a note in his head to write down possible sexual confusion on Godfrey's part and as a reason for his and Harry's constant bickering/clashing in his notepad where he wrote down all his clinical/important observations of Harry and his relationships with others- incest and incestuous thoughts were more common than most people thought, especially in the Wizarding world. Or so was his personal opinion on what he had read and observed*

*Releases an enraged and indignant noise from within his throat, standing up sharply to snatch the puppets away from Harry, his chin cocked upwards in a gesture of disapproval* What really happens, of course, is that the FATHER *holds up the Gilderoy puppet* bends his WIFE *lifts up the Harry puppet, forcing it to lean forward and expose its backside to Gildeory!puppet* over the kitchen table and.. *violently joins the puppets in what could only be described as the mating of drunken wild animals*
And then the FATHER suffers a HORRIFIC accident *throws his puppet self across the room* and his WIFE invites a strange MAN to live in their house! *Jabs the Harry!puppet in Xeno's general direction*
[Something about the puppets just.. set him off. Poor Gilderoy..]

Now you wait just a minute, Gilderoy! *Stands up, anger flashing over his face, obviously having had enough as well.... it wasn't like what Gilderoy said wasn't true, he just couldn't admit it because it might cause Gilderoy to have a complete relapse, so he was frustrated and completely stressed*
Xenophilius is my therapist, and yes he is my friend. And I'll have all the damned friends I please, because I'm not some sappy, doting housewife, I'm a goddamend person, not your property
*Rants, while at the same time thinking/knowing Gilderoy was probably just stressed as well, confused with everything, and that his blowing up wasn't likely helping a bit*
*Shoves the chair back and stalks over to Gilderoy, his jaw rigidly set and his teeth clenched, not really sure what he was doing when he grabbed the front of Gilderoy's robes, pulled him forward, and smashed their lips together in an epic kiss to end all epic cliche movie kisses*
..... but I am married to you. *Finishes quietly after pulling himself away, feeling a burning guilt down inside him, but manages to push it away*

*Releases a posessive growl from his throat, dragging his hands through Harry's hair to force his 'husband' closer against himself, apparently momentarily oblivious of their guests and children - or uncaring, which is probably more likely; draws away, sliding his arms around Harry's waist as he suddenly drops back into his chair, tugging Harry down to land on his lap* So there IS a silver lining to your moods! *Flashes his winning smile, snuggling Harry closer to his chest as he drops the Harry!puppet on the table and reaches for his glass* Now we really ought to eat. You're upsetting the children.
*Chuckles* Not a doting housewife - really, Harry, you say the silliest things when you're being unreasonable!

*Seethes where he sits on Gilderoy's lap, and glares at Poppy warningly- he had no idea anymore why he had agreed to this. Why he was tiptoeing around everything. Why he was taking all of this bull and being dragged around and treated like, he felt, as if he was too stupid to know his own thoughts and feelings- he was merely seconds from pulling out his wand and cursing Gilderoy's balls off- this was degrading, demeaning, he was doing things he felt uncomfortable with with his children and Xenophilius there, and he was not happy*
((And of course, Harry's just too *angry* to think of getting off of Gilderoy's lap))

Godfrey did not want to eat. He wanted to run upstairs to his room and curl underneath the blankets. Papa was angry, and he was making his Dad angry, and he could tell his Dad was feeling bad and he knew the way Papa was treating him was bad- but he really couldn't help it, really, it wasn't Papa's fault! And he was a kid and shouldn't have to worry about it at all but he did of course. He also made a very mature decision to try to relax and stay at the table- Poppy was there, Dad was old enough to take care of himself- sometimes, Xeno was there too, though Godfrey didn't think he could do very much at the moment.
He couldn't take the shiny silver cover off of his own plate and poke at his food as a distraction, either. Gilderoy was the guest of honor and it would be rude to start before him, of course. So he just sat there, shoulders hunched, and stared at his distorted face looking back at him.

Harry, Xenophilius knew, was on the verge of taking a very big step in his therapy, indeed in his life. He could or could not make a decision that would undoubtedly effect the entire household. And it was completely in Harry's will to do so or not. The fact that Harry managed some form of control meant that he was hanging onto something- something that kept him from blurting out every angry thing he wanted to say. Xenophilius thought analytically that it was mostly likely the thought of his children that was keeping Harry just in check- and he would be right. Xenophilius also concluded that Harry was aware of the fact that Gilderoy was not of his right mind, and that he could be fiercely clinging to his version of the world, vehemently denying any sort of other view of things to protect himself. Harry knew much about therapy and the way people's minds work, because Xenophilius had taken the time to explain it to him, to help him better understand people. The old Harry would have likely taken Gilderoy to task without realizing the consequences of his actions. The old Harry also would have not turned to someone else for help, like he clearly was to Poppy right now. Xenophilius was very proud, but of course worried. It was hard to watch people grow and potentially make mistakes, of course, but he knew it was these very mistakes that people had to make in order to keep growing.
His main concern, actually, was for the children. Roderick wasn't all that used to yelling, but was watching Harry and Gilderoy with an unsure pout. Godfrey and Adela would fight at times, of course, like siblings were want to do. But Xenophilius himself never felt the need to yell or express anger. The baby seemed to be alright however, just a bit wary. Godfrey appeared to be braving things instead of running off and just bringing attention to himself- and perhaps sparking another argument between his parents because of it. He didn't seem very happy, but he was also growing and learning at this moment, though it was likely he did not know it. Xenophilius correctly surmised that Godfrey knew his leaving would likely cause more arguing, and was proud of him as well. He expressed this by giving Godfrey an intense look over the side of Roderick's chair.

Godfrey felt the weight of Xeno's stare and glanced up at him briefly, managing to give a small smile, relaxing slightly. At least he knew someone was there for him, even if his parents seemed too preoccupied in themselves and each other at the moment. He didn't really want attention anyways, he just wanted to get through dinner with everything ending up all happy and okay again, but he knew that probably wouldn't happen.

Godfrey was pretty sure he did not like this attention abruptly placed on him. He had a very, very keen feeling that what he could or could not say would be very important in helping everyone be happy again. But since that's what he wanted most of all, he took a moment to gather his thoughts and emotions, before he sat up slightly. He didn't beam, since it would likely look out of place with all the previous tension, but he did give a somewhat shy grin.
"Oh." He said, a real tinge of pink coming over his cheeks at Poppy's question. "Er..... Healer Helstrom? He's.. you know... er... uh...... good! Really good."
Godfrey nibbled his lip slightly, trying not to think too hard on the school healer that he couldn't help but have a small crush on. (Likely along with most of the rest of the population of Hogwarts)
"C- Professor Bulstrode is my favourite though! He teaches history." Gushing about schoolwork, teachers, and other boyhood things was something he could do well, and it even brought his spirits up. "And then potions with Headmaster Snape. Did you know I'm in Hufflepuff, Papa?"
Godfrey looked at Gilderoy for a moment, realizing he probably didn't. "I like Ancient Runes as well. But I get good marks."
Tactfully, he avoided mentioning how he was trying really hard to catch up to the others in his classes, since his Papa probably didn't know this was his first year at Hogwarts, and he only wanted to say good things to keep everyone happy, even if it meant lying a bit.
"I like all the teachers though. There's not really a one I'd say I didn't like." He nodded vigorously, wondering what else he could talk about, and for once felt a pang that he wasn't in a Gobstones group, or that he couldn't fly well and wasn't on the Quidditch team. It'd keep attention off the things he didn't want to talk about, anyways.
"Oh! And I've gotten really good at the violin!" Godfrey excitement was palpable as he found something to grasp onto, and he sat up with enthusiasm. "Josh plays the guitar, so we play together sometimes too! It's hard to find quiet places to practice though, it seems everyone knows about all the good hiding places- er, I mean studying places."

The corners of the blonde’s mouth ease into a satisfied smile awash with pride, Gildeory tilting his head to nuzzle his cheek against his husband’s rabbit-soft hair as Godfrey outlined some of his feelings regarding Hogwarts and his own talents. “Oh, violin, I was an absolute devil at that when I was your age - my instructor said I could play professionally after my second lesson!”

"Really?" Godfrey said this more cautiously than he meant to, but playing the violin was important to him. It wasn't about being the best or being able to master the hardest pieces- it was about the music and the sound that he could coax from the instrument. Whereas he normally was very excited to accept anything Gilderoy said, even though he knew most of it was not true, he could not do the same with this, even though he wanted to.
"Maybe...." Godfrey had not known this about Gilderoy, and was on the verge of asking Gilderoy if he'd play with him- but if his Papa couldn't actually play... he didn't want to make a fool out of him, since his Papa's stories were important to him. "Maybe I could play something for you and everyone, after dinner?"
He hadn't missed the look of pride Gilderoy was giving him either, and hungered for more.
((XD I just find for me that I get frustrated lately with the asterisk- I have more things I want to say/think. :3 But you guys are better at the asterisk form. xD))
