I Love band so much that I’m a band geek.
25. How long does it take you to set up your instrument?
Like a good 2 or 3 minutes, it’s a saxophone, so first you put on the neck strap, then you kind your reed and suck on it, then you find your cork grease and rub in on your cork , then you put the mouthpiece on the neck (which you put the cork grease on) then take the reed out of your mouth and put it on your mouthpiece, then you hook your neck strap onto the saxophone, then put the neck on the saxophone. Yeah...it takes a while.
26. Do you practice, or are you talented enough were you don't have to? or are you just lazy and have no talent so your like last chair?
I don’t practice a lot, But I’m miraculously good , but I have to learn all of my major scales for Jazz Improv because Chad said that Bad things will happen if we don’t learn them.

Yea, but they’re 8th graders in Jazz band, In 7th grade band is where almost all of my nemisises reside.

I tie an orange ribbon around my bari, but took it off the other day because I didn't want to look childish at a concert at the jazz hall of fame.

The bell of my bari is slightly bent from where it fell off my neck strap in marching band. That strap went in the garbage after that.

To look good while doing something, you must first look good while NOT doing anything. Which I don't.
17. Best compliment for your playing?
"Wow! Just...wow! I've never heard such a great sound! Wow!" -Coming from a college band director who was directing an honor band I was in. (about my Contraclarinet)

I make a point of learning how to play the weirdest instruments I find.

Sometimes. I usually end up tapping my heel instead of my toe. That used to get me in trouble at my old school, but they don't care at this latest one.

Trumpets- Annoying, loud, immature and egotistical

Depends on how many steps the band director is from the podium.

I use the excuse "Its too big to take home! It doesn't fit in the car!" quite a bit. Sometimes I take it home with the intention to practice, which is a big step for me, but it usually just gets used as a stepping stool or chair.

I don't have any friends outside of band. Maybe one or two aquaintences, but not friends.

No, people are too afraid of me to even dare pranking me.

Marching/Concert- Red, black and white school owned uniforms.
Jazz- Black collered shirt, black pants, black shoes and a tie of your choice. Maybe a few jazzy accesories if you can convince the director to let you wear them.

-Mouthpiece- On bari I use a really nice jazz mouthpiece my middle school jazz director sold me. Can't remember what its called right now, but the ones for alto and tenor are white. Contra, the one it came with.
-Ligature- I no longer use a hair tie on my contra!
-Reed- I use Rico Royal 2 1/2. I know what your thinking! Rico is the scum of the earth (thats what I was taught at my old school), but its not. At least not for bari/contra. The others are to wide and hang off the edge of the mouthpiece and I can get a nice loud sound out of them. I like 2 1/2 also for the volume. I tried a size higher and didn't like it.

One of the drummers was jumping hurdles in marching band (don't ask, its a drummer) and broke his ankle. Tuba player fell over on a windy day. Trumpet player fell over backwards during a game, but managed to get up quick enough to keep going.

well my "mom's" flute doesn't have much. but my flute has 89343 but half of them are not even mine. so yea. it gets a sratch everyday. a hit of the stand here, a tap there.

well like i said i mainly have scratches on the bottom of my bell but the only reason i have those was when i was brd i would twist it around on the floor & apparently the floor would have grains of sand on it but my clarinet has fallen & almost fell & ppl sometime knock it down by accident of course but i usually catch it b4 it falls (thank god)

no clue i haven't really played in front of a mirror or have had a friend take a pic of me playing

We played this song, 12 seconds to the moon, my god. There were some 16th runs (on the bassoon part) that were insane. And I'd only been playing for about 6 months when I got the piece. I panicked.

I have a scar on my right hand from my saxophone case and my lips are constantly split and bruises on both my legs and scars on my knees. I don't remember how the scars on my knees happened, that must be a really interesting story. Wish I knew it.

There's one guy who's cool, but everyone else makes me want to shove my face into a brick wall. That's my /current/ section, by the way, being bassoons. I loved my alto saxes at my old school, then I moved and they're not so awesome. Tenor saxes always pwn though.

Both. I'm a horribly nerdy geeky band kid. AND I'm a huge music geek on top of it, thanks to band.
