I don’t want to insult any of you, but I think there is a lot of affected self-justification about that whole attitude towards German and Germany, that is caused by really unnecessary political correctness. Still on this issue; I am living in The- Jewish state, and as far as I can remember myself I have never been called Nazi or anything like that for studying German, speaking in German, screaming to my grandmother in German from the other side of the street or for exchanging WWII jokes with my friends in public places - and I am speaking of society which still has that collective trauma. Some proportions never hurt anyone, you know. ;D
Anyway, whenever I hear Chechen, I feel as my ears bleed.

XWraith_LordX Koko.Dk I really hate it when native speakers of English using chat-speak when speaking to each other. It drives me up the wall into a tree while falling off a giant skyscraper by accident. I also hate it when people censor swear words while speaking instead of using a euphemism. stressed You mean when they spell out things letter by letter? Like saying "w-t-f was he doing?" Haha lol then I guess chatspeak English is the worst sounding language. I have to be one of the few people that text that use normal sentences. I say lol and g2g but other than that I don't use chatspeak. It's a pain to get sentences out with my thumbs without abbreviating everything, but I like to preserve my language thank you very much xD

I love like every language on this planet. sad
Japanese = awesome French = I think it's the prettiest Chinese = seems warm to me (probably because whenever I heard it, it was my really nice family, often doting on me) Italian = nice German = I absolutely love it Russian = very cool (sounds similar to German? or is it just me..) Korean = used to be meh but now I have so many songs I love in it, it sounds really nice (interesting phenomenon ) English = ...sophisticated?
etc.
I like Spanish too, but I guess it sounds most.. bland to me.

ai_theblack_rose: I have to agree, French is really hard to pronounce. I'm a beginner, and I'm having a LOOOT of difficulty with it. ): ~
ANYWAY. I'd have to say the worst language is German. It's harsh, and it sounds like everyone is angry all the time. It's just really gross. Pretty much all of the Germanic languages, such as Danish, Swedish, etc, I don't like either, because they're pretty much the same as German. The only exception for me is English haha. ><

And I like German, and I don't think it sounds like one is angry when one speaks it.

Shocking eh ? ((Its because I'm 1/4th German, and I wanted to test it out)) It's all of the weird nasal and deep throat sounds that make it sound really angry, and not very nice sounding, in my opinion. xD English is sort of different from German though. We don't really make those kinds of noises >< I'm not sure about the other Germanic languages if they make those noises or not ..

Aww, all of these people disliking German is making me a little bit sad... sad
I personally love the sound of Deutsch. Yes, it's an acquired taste, but really a lot of how 'harsh' it sounds depends on your choice of words, your accent, and your own voice.
It makes me wonder how English sounds to non-speakers, or non-native-speakers. We have some pretty interesting sounds...

I love english and I come to accept spanish(after hating it for no reason xD), but there's something I can't get over - you have to lisp! gonk In german, all my life I had to avoid lisping, because you don't do it in german and then, kawum, comes english with it's "th" and spanish with it's own lisping sounds, that's just wrong emo

I don't particularly care for Spanish, and Russian doesn't sound very good either.
And... I love the French language and how it sounds, but I don't think it sounds pretty. It sounds rather uppity. That being said, I love it to pieces.

I don't get why everyone hates German, I think it's cool. I suppose there's no languages that I think are particularly ugly or bad sounding..

I always found Korean incredibly unappealing. I had a reason, but I don't remember why. Which is really, really weird because I listen to Korean songs and I had a Korean friend and when they spoke/sang, I thought it quite nice. Maybe cause it was female voices, though?
I always thought Spanish sounded lovely, but maybe that's because I love French so much (it sounds so beautiful to me, even the rough Acadian), and there are quite a few similarities (phonetically, anyway) between the languages.
What I've heard of German, I quite liked, but hearing an actual conversation, I'm not sure if I'd change my opinion or not. I feel like I need to hear more of it.
Generally I like the languages I've heard.
I don't think I've heard enuogh Chinese to judge, but I respectfully dislike it...

The_Brightest_Moon And you peeps think that Polish is like "WOAH" with the pronounciation, try Gaelic (doesn't LOOK hard to pronounce but the pronounciation is the complete opposite of how it's spelled, worse than English xD Hahaha, I know that only too well. I'm trying to learn it, because part of my lineage is Scottish, but Holy Mother of God, it is difficult.
