On another note, I received one of those chests the other day and i was like "Woo hoo! They brought back the random gift box thing!" and then I clicked on it and was like "Erm, where'd it go" and my sisters explained to me that I have to pay Gaia cash to open the chest...

>_<

WHAT?!

That is all.

So tell me, what have you spent more time on at this point: World of Warcraft or Disgaea?

I maxed out the timer on Disgaea: 999 hours, a loooonnng time ago. That's about 42 days of play right there. Lord knows how much I've played it after that. I think Disgaea still wins.

Damn you item dungeons!
..................... eek

Maybe you don't have the same sort of compulsive tendencies that I do...so it might save you from sleepless nights leveling your legendary items. Or transmigrating your lvl 9999 Laharl back to lvl 1 again just to try and get his stats MAXED.

Oh, Disgaea, you've taken far too much of my soul.
My chars are only in their 6ks

-lazy-

lol.

But yeah, needless to say, Disgaea is awesome and good for literally thousands of hours of play. Then again, it goes back to your play style. If you get bored of leveling up items and such then the play time is cut drastically.

Still, if you picked it up and enjoy SRPGs then there's a good chance you'd want to explore all the nuances of the game and unlocking the secret characters etc. Or receiving the Item God pieces, or beating Baal on max difficulty settings, or passing all sorts of legislature through the dark Senate, or unlocking every class type and level, or seeing the true ending, the evil ending, the good ending, and any other endings you might want to see...the list goes on.

Keep in mind it takes a LONG time before your team is suddenly just blazing through everything. Especially if you level up legendary items. Sometimes you jump in the first level of an item and the mobs are lvl 3k+ just on the first level. Sometimes the mobs are all max level before you hit the final stage not to mention the ridiculousness that is the Item Gods.

AHHHH Now I want to play!!! I really want to pick up a PS3 for Disgaea 3 now too...there was a price cut after all... ninja
I've got all the legendary items and such already. I'm just lazy on the grind/getting rank0 yoshis/robos. XD

Pleinair = awesome. That is all.

Less than two weeks left now before I leave. I should've figured but I guess it never really hit much just how absolutely stressful it'd be getting ready to leave home for a full year, so far away.
I've been so busy already and I haven't even started packing yet.

I was wondering though if anyone has any good DS game recommendations for the trip? It'll take about 7-8 hours between the airports and two flights, and I've got some more in-depth stuff like Final Fantasy games and Disgaea and all that, but I'm looking for something simple but engaging - preferably an RPG.
Well, as of yet, the Shin Megami Tensei series hasn't let me down, so you might want to try giving Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Survivor a shot. As a note, though, I haven't actually played it, so I really can't personally say much about it.

VG discussion sense... tingling. eek

It's actually just Devil Survivor /nitpick, and is sort of MegaTen Lite (TM), but I'm definately liking it. There are full weakness reports on the top screen, and pretty ok sprites on the bottom screen. Gameplay is closer to a party based Disgaea or maybe Final Fantasy Tactics, and is fairly well executed. Other than entering your name, there doesn't appear to be any touch screen usage at all. Story's pretty alright too, but this is the first game I've been truly annoyed by a support character being a big bag of stupid(I'm looking at you, Yuzu stare ).

In short, if you like MegaTen games, it's worth a shot. If you like JSRPGs that dont' require much grinding, it's definately up your alley.

Also, hi folks. ninja

Dear Stream,

We got your games. Kaiser immensely enjoyed WLB, and is currently considering framing the Banana card. We spent a good twenty minutes just laughing at the rules, and the cards in the second deck. Needless to say, we're going to get a lot of mileage out of these in the near future.

Thanks a lot,

Kin and Kaiser

I KNEW the two of you would love those. Especially WLB, and the sheer WTFery of it. I'm glad to know you'll be playing both... especially We Didn't Playtest This At All... (my favorite card is probably the Spite cards, btw... for obvious reasons).

Oh, and since I have the whole shebang set up and regular online access readily available for it, any of you with Xbox live account should know that my gamertag is Streamjumper. Maybe we could get together some AG and friends only games of TF2 and whatnot.

Went and forgot mine as soon as I read this, but I'm going to friend request none the less!

Batman: AA is goddamn awesome. I'm loving the combat system, enjoying the ******** out of the gadgets, and delighted as all hell at the stealth aspects of the game.

I've heard a lot of praise for AA. My boss actually likened it to Splinter Cell, but without the infuriatingly difficult learning curve. Not sure if I'm sold on it just yet, but I'm going to see if I can grab the demo just as soon as I can peel my sorry hands off of Dissidia. gonk crying

Yeah, you're right. I guess I got it mixed up with SMT: Digital Devil Saga. I don't understand how I could do that, since the names are so far apart from each other. XD

I don't actually have a DS, so I still haven't played it, and it's not really likely I'll get a chance to play it anytime soon. However, I have gotten into the other SMT games big-time. I finished Persona 3 towards the beginning of summer and am in the process of working my way through Persona 4. Both of them have been some of the most fun RPGs I've played in a long time, with really interesting, different stories and great, well developed characters. You played any of the Persona series, Cyn?

Oh yeah, the names of those two games are SO different. rolleyes I was making that mistake myself for a short bit.

As for Persona, I've not actually played any of them yet. I'm waiting for the Remake to hit the PSP and grab that. From there I'm going to convert P2: Innocent Sin and P2: Eternal Punishment to PSP format (modded mine a long time ago just for this and emulation). After that I'm considering holding out for P3P, which is a PSP remake of P3 with the ability to choose what gender you want your MC to be. After all that I'll move on to P4, if I'm not completely burned the heck out on Persona by then.

When it comes to MegaTen games, my sole, glorious experience with them is Nocturne. That game is so incredibly unforgiving, but so much fun. It's available for fairly reasonable prices on Amazon through the store fronts. Picked mine up for just over $40 and change through E-Knight, and that's after the second reprint they did! Forget even finding the strategy guide in good condition, unless you want to pay upwards of $200. I bought the digital copy for about $20 from Doublejump, and I'm in the process of ripping it from the site because you can only access it through a browser plug-in in their forums scream . Due to people ripping off the free Disgaea guide so hard through E-bay, they completely disallow downloading their guides now.
