Dr. Fomite OK, you guys talked me into it. whee
Placed my order for the ticket. biggrin Now I'd better think of something worthwhile to say to him.
As opposed to, "lolol, hi i liek ur musik." Which is probably how it will come out, no matter how I plan. D: Ok ok ok...here's what you do: Walk into the room, and as soon as you see him, scream at the top of your lungs and sprint at top speed towards him. When you're about 5 feet away from him, crouch down and pounce (make sure to use your KNEES) him as hard as possible, getting a few somersaults in if you can. While he's pinned to the ground, kiss him full on the mouth and scream "I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!" Chances are after this encounter he'll let you into his inner circle and provide you with VIP seats and free plane rides to all of his shows. It can't fail!

I'm starting to love my job. I was worried about being let go because I always ran out of things to do, but they've started giving me odd jobs on top of stuff. Not as much leisure time as my earlier job, but the work is easy and they JUST started allowing employees to listen to ipods, which is nice since most of what I do is paperwork - renewing insurance policies, rating, reviewing, etc. I only have to make a few calls a day, if even.
Unfortunately I came home sick today... and then managed to stupidly burn myself with a pan that had just come out of a 375-degree oven gonk I don't even know HOW. I took it out and pulled it back to shut the door, and in the process touched the rim to my arm. It was surprisingly bad for such quick contact ;-;
@FFG: You know. That actually COULD work if done right.

Alrighty so I was just doing some research today on Grad school costs at UCSC and I realize it's actually pretty expensive: InfoSo I"m like, great...I have like 6800 approved in loans per quarter next year and this budget calls for about 11K+ per quarter. Anyways, I began to get nervous about my TAship and I wanted to make sure I understood the benefits and payment right and such, so I email another grad student who's currently TAing and here's what he shoots me back with: Grad Student You get paid about 1600/month after taxes and 100% of our health insurance plan (which includes health, dental and vision) is covered. In addition, all but 300 dollars per term in fees and tuition are covered. HOT DAMN. That's a lot of perks. lol. For the year that's an extra 12,303 that I don't have to pay not to mention the $1600 a month AFTER TAXES that I get. So, yeah...huzzah grad school.

As for what to say, how about just some basic fan things, like "I'm a big fan of __________ (fill in specific album here)." Then add a question or two either about that album/game or in general, I'd say.

Ms. Karen Starr Dr. Fomite At least, after I recheck my budget. Naturally, my dishwasher decided this would be an awesome time to die on me. I could get by without one again; I did it for years. But I really like having it. gonk
I still haven't really figured out a convenient way of leaving the dishes out to dry without the cats getting their nasty little paws all over the clean dishes, or a place I can leave a dish towel out to dry afterward without the same problem. At this point, a dish towel gets one use and then gets thrown into the wash, which makes for a lot of extra laundry. Streamjumper Dr. Fomite OK, you guys talked me into it. whee

As opposed to, "lolol, hi i liek ur musik." Which is probably how it will come out, no matter how I plan. D: A simple "Thank you for a wonderful show this evening." should cover all bases if need be. Zelyhon Hooray! That sounds like it'll be really cool, and you'll have to tell us about it later. ...And FFG's... xd heart
I should be able to stammer out a thank you. I'm so awkward. emo And it looks like his favourite game/soundtrack is the same as mine, so I should be able to spout out some lovin' on that one since I've listened to it enough times to know it pretty well. :3
Or else I can just stand in the corner of the room and stare unblinkingly at him until he feels uncomfortable and leaves. eek

I make sure they are CLEAN mad Then again... I've also been in a dorm for two years. I don't have many choices. xd I felt the same about dishwashers back in the day, especially when I'd visit a friend's house and they'd pull dishes from the dishwasher that still had food stuck to them. D: I thought dishwashers were just gross.
Until I got one. With a bit of pre-rinsing, the dishes come out clean, and realistically, the temperatures the dishwasher can achieve pretty far outstrip hand-washing for cleanliness. And this is even with a fairly old dishwasher. The newer ones do an even better job, and use less water than you'd use by hand washing.
Not that you have a choice at the moment, what with the dorm thing and all. xd

Well, damn. cool
I disassembled the dishwasher a bit since I figured I was going to be replacing it anyway and didn't have much to lose. Found that I had no idea what to do with any of the innards, so I closed it back up. Aaaand it works just fine now.

While I was in undergrad, there were no dishwashers in the apartments, so I got used to washing dishes by hand (assuming messy roommates hadn't clogged the sink with their gross dishes). Now that I have one, I forget about it a lot of the time and still clean by hand. I'm getting better, though.
And hooray for Zombie Dishwasher!

My last year at college, I shared an on-campus apartment with 5 other girls. So of course there was communal sharing of the pots and dishes and stuff.
Now, we had all agreed that we would all wash our own dishes. Especially since we didn't have a dishwasher.
That damn sink was always full. It drove me nuts, because I couldn't wash my own dishes due to it already being full.
