I actually thought it was not so good, but in the way that it was kind of hilarious. Like I was thoroughly entertained by it, but there were a lot of issues, both in the sense of things that didn't match well with the comics, and with just the way it was done as a movie in general. The action was done nicely though.
However, I was there with like five other girls. I loved how you could hear the approval any time an attractive guy was onscreen 8D
What showing were you in though? If I'd known you were going, I would've seen if we'd be there at the same time ;-;

X-Men Origins is ok, not great but also not rubbish. Was slightly disappointed with Gambit though... Should've been so much better than he was.

Rae x Rae So the guy checking me out last night when I was picking up some fabrics and stuff asked what my major was, and when I said English told me to "major in something useful." I bristled mad
You can actually take English degrees into a lot of other studies. Which I plan to do. I wanna end up with a PhD in religious history someday. Not to mention. YOU ARE AT WORK, DO NOT KNOW ME, AND ARE CHECKING OUT MY THINGS. I don't need to say more on that.
@Scully: Ugh, that's ******** ridiculous neutral When you're that close, you should be allowed.
@Skizz&Mala: Are you guys talking about those genetically engineered puppies that the news stuff was talking about the other day? Those weird me out but they're cute gonk Where does the cashier at a fabric store think he gets qualification to give other people career advice? Seriously, if he has one of those "something useful" degrees, it's good to see him making the most of it. rolleyes As for X-men Origins, I haven't seen it yet, and I probably won't until finals are over, but I've heard that they messed up Deadpool somewhat, which makes me sad. He was one of my main motives to go see the movie.

Yeah, I heard Deadpool sucked in the movie. D: He probably would've been the only thing that interested me.

That's what I was thinking. And I don't wanna sound like a b***h, cause I see no issue with working retail or anything, no matter what end of the spectrum, but it was kind of like "Um... what?

Okay, so I'm completely outnumbered in thinking it was awesome. But I never got really into X-men, so I don't know the original back story.
I was very entertained by Ryan Reynolds... and the Blob. And the fact that these two old ladies that sat in front of Me, Mike, and Andrew were giggling over the post coital scene with Logan and his woman. It was great. I also entertained myself by listening to Andrew name off kids (quick silver, cyclops [though he was hard to miss] and so on).
I was a little disappointed in Gambit... he's my all time fav...
We went to see the 12:40 showing on Sat. Mike wanted to make it early because we had a bunch of other stuff we wanted to do.

Well, Deadpool's always supposed to be entertaining, so I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed him. 'Pool and Gambit are really two of my big motivations to see this, as they're both such amusing characters that even if the rest focused on an overused character like Wolverine, it'd be worth it if there was some good Deadpool snark or fourth wall breaking. On another board, someone linked to this video, which is pretty much how Deadpool would have been written ideally, including things like the Mortal Kombat reference and the 4th wall breaking comments. And the immortality. Even if they play him fairly straight as a great assassin, there's plenty of room for goofing off while doing it.

I thought Wolverine Origins was horrific, even with the super low standards I set for the film. I'm not a fan of X-Men in general, but I do know it's characters and history well (especially with plot points that made their way into the 90s cartoon). Didn't we learn from X3 and Spiderman 3 that shoving as many popular characters as we can into a film doesn't make it good? Liev Schreiber's voice was the only thing I found really enjoyable. gonk

While the jaw pain and percosets are definitely making it a little hard, I'm enjoying the hell out of SRW OG Saga so far.
Haken is awesome, and his combos are pretty badass. Kaguya is pretty badass too, and quite easy on the eye... her combos are pretty cool too. Wire-guided rocket punch FTW! I'm really liking Kaguya, and not just for the two most obvious reasons.
I'm really waiting for Suzuka and Xiaomu to show up though. While they might be the two least... er, prominent... members of the female cast, I expect that their personalities are going to be quite amusing.
And c'mon, Suzuka's weapon is a bodyguard robot that she controls by dancing. Seriously, that's kickass material right there.
The combat system took a little getting used to, but comboing, aborting combos to charge the frontier meter, and calling in backup brought a lot of split second decisions into matter without the usual annoying complications with menus.

Yay, I'm finally moving out on my bitchy, lazy, dependent roommate. I really can't be happier. The apartment, I'm moving into requires only that we pay electric and gas and the home tax at the end of the year. Which is only $200 a month between three of us. YAY *party dances*
