"Thanks...and pretty much go with what you feel or identify with really. I find that tends to work. Besides, can't get rid of tattoos and everyone cna see them." Tapping the one under his green eye. "No offense taken, that's just how she is. She's the funny one of the family...though her and my brother would argue that I'm the funny one." Shrugging again. "Seems dragons are native to this plane, I wouldn't think it unusual...dragons do die afterall."
"I doubt this is it...isn't it a bit far from the temple." Shrugging lightly as she pried out the bone she had cut and dropped it into one of her pouches, going back for another for her father. "Sands and salt seem to move around all the time...wouldn't be unplausible to say he's quite the bit of time old so the salt didn't really matter, if this place was even as thus. Or maybe he was above it and the scavengers and sun picked him clean." but another smile over to Shyrae, rare moment indeed this was. "Add it to my ever growing collection of things to have fun with. And yes, he is very much so. Glad you can figuratively see it from my side of the fence today."
She gave a laugh and brushed a hand through her hair. "Yes Mister Robins is settling things easily enough...but I do find it so amusing that she's decided to get under your skin by spending your loot on frivilous things at expensive trade prices. I would love to lock her up but she's still quite angry with me and I don't want to play with those claws." Patting Hunter on the cheek. "You're part of a dragoness' hoard...how does that feel?"
"Do you recall an object called the Rhythm Orb that once sat in the Guardian Tower in Ilindal? That is what the shards used to be. If you know of the Orb, I'm sure you know then what it is used for and how it can work. And...what's happened because it's gone missing. But I wouldn't advise letting things stew...when the Laerthe visit...and everytime they've visited that has been documented...things change. Change for the 'good' of the plane. Do you think you're good for the plane? I would disagree that you were."
Flexing his joint claws some idly, picking at his talons a moment before a light chuckle. "You speak lowly of me and my convieved plans. But you speak of things which you don't know...after all, you don't even know my role in all of this...do you? Best to watch your tongue before you lose it to folly." A light sigh with a bit of a hiss to it, "I'm not even offering anything to you really, but I would be giving you something...isn't complete dominion over the Sandseas something that you would enjoy? No more fools on it. I would be handing it over to you on a silver platter." A smirk, "But there is a trick to the Laerthe...sometimes they just don't care."

"I thought they burned that dragon to ashes...there was another mural showing a rather large fire." But she merely watched Savvy's enjoyment of it all and shook her head. "I'm just pretending he's alive and needs my help and transferring that joy to this experience. I think it's the same for us, really. You get excited when they're dead and you can use them and I get excited when I can save them. Neither one carries it's own exaltation or shame. It's just who we are. Different, yet the same."
Thobias glanced over as Kaznec settled in beside him and gave him a grin. "Two rubies for those barrels over there. No, make that one. With that last deal you bled me for you owe me that much. And I want that meat too. Salted so it'll last. You know fresh doesn't cut it on a ship unless it's just been caught from the sands." Cracking his knuckles before clearing his throat. "How's your girl doing?"

"So why did you get the ones that you have?" It was nice to talk to an elf and not have him or her upset at him in some way. "She's the funny one? Her jokes must have a different meaning then. Though I have to agree, you are the funny one of the family." A small chuckle to that "Well I mean that it's weird that it's here out of all places but then again it might of died here for some reason I don't know." A small shrug as he kept an eye on the dead dragon, it was something interesting really.

Trading was not just a way of surviving, it was obviously a skill. And one that he was trying to get his head wrapped around. "So, you have no currency... You merely bargain with whatever is around of left over from your last meeting or what you've accumulated over your travels?" Tilt of his head to give the man a glance though, momentarily stopped by the possessive pronoun he'd used. "Oh, Jae? She's better I think, no more convulsions but she's still feeling weak and maybe in a bit of pain." That was a guess, because he didn't really know. She'd been oddly adamant about sending him off this morning.

Sliding a glance to his companion of sorts he nodded. "Simple really. It's just harder than it looks. The key of it is to anticipate how low they are willing to go and then get them to go even lower. You are trying to get as much out of what you are willing to give as you can since gems and jewels are going to stick around but food and such is going to be used up." He pointed out another three barrels and spent about ten minutes in argument with the nomad. "If they absolutely refuse to give you a fair deal, sometimes persuasion is necessary but these nomads are relatively good about being fair." He frowned for a moment, "We can get her some nomadic remedies. They're actually pretty proficient at medicine."

"It feels both constraining and liberating. as a hoard object, she's probably going to be watching me like a damn hawk. however, if I get in trouble, she's liable to fight for me, so I get an automatic dragoness bodyguard."
a smirk at her.
"probably means I'll just have to be more sneaky when playing with the other children."
Malik shrugged.
"The mural depicted a death. not where it was or what happened after. and in either case, that such a large dragon is under these sands, it's also liable to think that someplace out here is this dragon's hoard, if it hasn't been discovered and picked over. which means there's someplace around here big enough to act as a den for your new toy."
"I've heard of it. able to alter the world and was able to give rise to that damned city. and was rightfully stolen and deserved to be."
a small smile.
"The good of the plane. I am good for the plane. I rule the sandsea, and keep the nomads in check. I watch the Riders. Information, my dragon, is the gold out here. the true power. and I keep information and sell it to those willing. I know of you, if not your name. I know of the creatures in your care. now you talk of these shars and thier power, and I am to remember other incidents of late. I imagine the dragons of stone are your doing."
lighting his pipe.
"Yet for all your detriment to thier task, they have yet to strike you down. Seems that either they are not so powerful as you lead me to believe, or you have found a method to hide yourself. either way, it makes a deal with you particularly dangerous to me. I become the target, while you are safely hidden. What good is a reward if you don't live long enough to use it, my good dragon?"

"Mural talk aside, what does it matter? It's big, it's a dragon, it's dead and it's useful. That's good enough for me." Prying out another large sliver of bone and throwing it to her father before a swipe of her hands across the dragon...whom seemed to burst into dust and merely float in the air. Pulling out a little rather fancy vial of sorts, she uncorked it and held it out with another flare of energy that seemed to infuse into the dust particles...and duely suck then into the vial which she corked again.
"I suppose you're right Shyrae, in some off backwards way some of use have going about things. Look at Chylithair, you save him. Well, the first time. Second time it was a half and half job on our parts really." Chy was...well a very unique falcon. "Treasure daddy? You're not one for treasure unless it's fancy junk you can put in the vault." Distaste in that word for good reason too. "I imagine you're going to tell the sand fleas? They do love the shiny things." Oh look she was being her usual harsh self again when it came to mentioning other people besides those close to her.
"Spur of the moment decision? I dunno really. In my family, we're kinda show offs. My brother and sister both dye their hair with color streaks...I like to kep my hair short so there's really no reason for me to do that methods. Idea just kinda hit me one day when I was visiting with my grandparents. They both have tattoos on their right cheeks. Started with one and well, it works for me." Shrugging lightly as casual as ever to him. "More funny weird than funny haha. Though thank you for thinking me funny haha." Shrugging again. "I've seen stranger things in places where they didn't need to be. Turtle in a tree for example."
"Let her watch as she may want to. Like I pointed out to her, you don't belong to anyone. Another dragon may stay away from you as hoard claim, but us humans don't abide by dragon, or elven, or whatever laws. She'lll just have to get used to that. Sneaking though...I would think you have too much pride to sneak about." Waving her hand dismissively about it. "I wouldn't sacrifice my proverbial freedom just to have a bodyguard. After all...bullets still still those dragons in their neutral states."
"Many would disagree with you on that you're good for it. And from what I'm seeing you don't rule over the sanddeas yet. The nomads care not for you and the Riders only because you can tell them quick fodder. I'm not surprise you know me, I'm an old dragon...and even friends with other beings on this plane of influence." Pausing a moment, "Stone dragons...no those weren't mine." Said with a straight face because well technically...they weren't.
But he did give a smirk in that 'I have an edge' way. "Oh they are that powerful...but mislead. And you would be no more of a target than you already are now. They see you as a mere nusciance to them as they travel, a dog who trails behind them begging for attention and treats. The Laerethe care not for you. Besides...I thought you smarter than this, why use yourself when you have ample ability to use thsoe around you as well. Like with the little white dragon, yes?"

"Well they really do go well for you." It was all he could say about the tattoos but really they did look good on the elf, he had a way of making them work. "Well it's the way I see it, though being funny weird isn't bad either really." A shrug before he turned to the elf and raised an eyebrow as a small amused grin appeared on his face. "A turtle in a tree? How the hell does that happen?" It seems odd to see a turtle being in a tree, maybe there is a good story to go along with it.

Shyrae chuckled "The world according to Savvy." She glanced up at Savvy's shoulder to see the falcon and nodded. Indeed it had been both of their efforts that had saved that bird from early demise the second time around. It was amazing how often he managed to get himself into scrapes that could easily result in his death. Silly thing. Frowning at her uncle, she shook her head. "Skylheera is not a toy. She is a living, thinking being and unlike you believed, she is actually making progress Uncle Malik." It wasn't said disrespectfully but with a laugh to her voice. "She'll be better off with us still. After all, that's the best way for her to continue to learn."

"Because using those around me means paying them. paying them means if they get caught, they lead to me. I used what I did with the dragon because he was more liable to get killed. careful planning like you're talking about means pawns that while expendable, but preferably reusable."
a small smirk.
"for example. if that rider had been killed, it made no difference. he dies, his mission is still done. she ate him, his supplies were laced with hallucinatory drugs. three more hours he'd been seeing things. she doesn't eat him, he does his job, as he did."
taking a pull off the pipe.
"but if we careful orchestrate a plan, and one pawn screws up, our options are to kill him, and reorder the plan, or retrieve him. both of them require exposing oneself to these creatures of great power. they might not care. But I know the Hawk. he will care as to the hows and whys of people doing things to his ship."
a shrug.
"But I am listening. tell me this plan of yours, at least it's outline. and I will tell you if the risk is viable for the rewards you are promising. I can rule the sandsea without trinkets. I simply eliminate my competition by force."
A slight smirk.
"I wasn't refering to your pet, Shyrae. I refering to my daughter's new toy. a dragon this large had to have a nest, a lair or den around big enough to support it. which could me a large hoard. but at the very least, would mean a very safe and secure temporary harbor as well."
"bullets though mostly slow them down unless you get two or three in them before they rip your throat out. But sneaking for you and sneaky for me are probably different. your thinking hiding in shadows and lipping into your cabin through the window. I'm thinking drugging or just slipping under her nose and knocking on your door."

"Thanks, I thought so too. Being horribly pale has its uses I suppose." Giving a light chuckle and watching the display over the sands with little interest or wonder. This was all old hat for him, he's seen her do it all before. But he shared Caden's amusement over things in weird places. "I have no idea, but there it was when I climbed up. Turtle in a tree...just sitting on the branch as it it was the most natural thing to be doing in the world. You know though...turtles have absolutely no balance.
"Interesting in my words isn't it? That's what happens when you can't see it, but feel it moreso." Shrugging lightly and pocketing items, sheating her daggers and putting boots toe to heel before pivoting and starting to walk again to retrace steps back towards the ship. "Last thing we need to do is dock again, it feels like we're never going to get things done if we keep this up. Sooner these shards are recovered, sooner we can learn more fun things. After all...who doesn't want their hands on an object that can control the world around them, yes?" Tad of Malik's conquerer side anyone?
Humans, they were such timid creatures. They always wanted to stay hidden away, so afraid to be found out. Probably because they cold die so easily. One swipe of his tail could kill the one before him for instance and it didn't even have to be the blades. But he had to make due to get his own things accomplished...debts had to be paid after all. "Dragon can sink ships faster and more proficent then your canons, ponder that a little." Tilting his head and cracking his neck in the process. "The dragons have to go, and they have to go in a way that's going to keep the rest at bay for at least a time. I can lead them on easily for you....you merely have to provide the Riders for me and ensure that I'm no target of theirs either. They only need the Red and White...both rather valuable dragons too. Make good fodder. That is merely step one and as much as I tell you for now..."
"Sneaking, is sneaking. No matter how you do it. You should be able to walk into where ever you want past whomever you want of your own free will. I don't like sneaking, personally...it's not fun. Nope." Shrugging lightly and looking back to her ship as things were getting finished up more or less, though yes raise of an eyebrow to the group of elves out there. What were they doing now? "Little white dragon is still sick though it seems. Walking dead if you want to put it that way."

Shyrae frowned and shook her head. "Why would she need a den to keep a bottled dragon? I watched her turn the thing to dust and store it in a vial and she took a bone shard as well. If she throws it down, she'll need wide open spaces since he's so big, but to keep it in a den that she won't be returning to seems foolish to me. Of course there is probably treasure in his den unless he died before he could amass it or its already been robbed. The pirates have likely long ago found it and picked through it all. They're like bloodhounds when it comes to sparklies." Turning back to the ship and then shaking her head. "You don't need such an object. You have plenty of toys of your own." Turning to her uncle, "How much longer are you staying?"

"I guess so." He wasn't as pale as the elf, Caden had a nice deep brown complexion to his body since he works in the sun all day long. Still even his family bloodline has a bit of a dark skin tone to them overall. Caden's eyes wandered around the massive dragon before it seemed to go away, it was a bit creepy but then again it was necromancy so he would just brush past it and hope his body doesn't get used for a necromancer's purpose one day. "That must of been funny to see." And in-visioning it was, a turtle in a tree just sitting there like it was his home all along, could make a few people giggle if they thought about it. "Really? Well I only seen a turtle a few times so it's news to me."

"Only seen a turtle a few times huh? Well, you're not missing out on anything. They make really really good stools though. Especially if they're bigger than you and you're feeling extra lazy." Though he cupped his hands around his mouth and called out to those he considered family lines. "Hey! I highly doubt that the people around here are enjoying that display and last thing you want is them to up prices or sabatoge your ships!" Shaking hsi head. "Not that I know how she's on a ship, Savvy hates water, or really anything water esque." Standing up straight he tapped the toes of his boots to make sure they were on firmly.
She rolled her eyes, were they bickering more? Savvy always thought that Shyrae got it from Zahara....her aunt and her father still went at each other at least once a month if they were lucky to not do it more. Crossing her arms over her chest as she walked she merely cocked her head a little. "You're probably right...I can already do a lot of the things that orbs seems to be able to. At least when it comes to killing things and making things come to life in a sense." Shrugging, "I like my toys."
Her was sitting with her knees pulled up and arms crossed, elbows resting on knees. The empty bowl sat near her as things happened around her that she obviously wasn't paying attention to. She felt...well she was starting to feel better she though...but she gelt horribly too. It felt like something was snaking around inside her flesh and veins and it wasn't pleasant...made her want to move around to try and make the feeling go away.

"Probably not much longer. I imagine I'll be heading home with Dhairiss. though this toy would be something to have."
a slight grin at his daughter.
"Of course, I don't think you'd have the skill to play a thief like Piper or Aurahkah. but if you get the chance, do take some time to study it throughly. I want to know anything we can find out about it's creation."
hey, he still had those kind of thoughts too.
A slight smirk.
"Sneaking can be a lot of fun. you just got to learn to do it right and not get caught every other time. it takes time, skill, and patience. two of which you lack most times."
yes he could prod at her a bit.
Fang looked at the dragon carefully, exhaling some smoke.
"That depends entirely upon the dragon and the one issuing the cannon orders. So you want me to use my liason with the Riders to get you fodder and to get you off thier radar. the Red is a member of the Guard. while the white may be expendable, they will come looking for the Red one if enough time passes. Have you worked out a plan for that? I understand the concept of need to know. but I also understand that Rider involvement leaves me holding the purse strings when they come for thier Guard. if you have a plan setup to delay or avoid that circumstance, I'm game for this chess game your looking to involve me in."
