No better time to dance the spears... twisted *She did laugh this time, a slightly blood chilling sound in the echoing sewers as she dashed forwards towards the monster, Ravens Tears, the enchanted soul stealing blade taking a long vertical slash at the rear end of the huge slug. Raven swung from a low gaurd possition through the half cressent to a high guard, a simple move that she normaly would not have used against an enemy that she expected to counter attack, but one that could easily cut a good three foot long slash in the slug, just enough to get its attention*

Okay, so Sun did have something else in mind - or, to be precise, there were too many other stimuli in the same moment. In addition, Lucind also had to watch out and block flying splinters and pieces of wood, using her staff in combination with sound wave blasts.

Then she'd guided the horse back and away from where the ship crashed into the docks. Seeing what Vahn did with the menacing fire cloud, Lucind thanked him inwardly. The rain had enabled her to create an anti-fire shield, something like a heat repelling second skin which also protected her clothes. Still, she preferred not having too close contact with her opposed element.

In the same moment Lucind dismounted the mare - whatever was in the ship (making guesses was easy, though), chances were it would be numerous and ready to simply ran or pull down the horse, so it was better to release it - a missile of some sort embedded itself in Sun's shoulder and the man fell to his knees. The woman tried to figure out its source but then had to watch what happened to the redhead...and to the ground around him.

The ship slowed down but still sent debris and wood flying everywhere.
Lucind stared at the ship. Something nudged her mind, a warning voice whispering that... What? She just couldn't calissify the uneasy feeling but instinctively swirled her staff, letting it rotate in front of her like some slow propeller. Lucind hummed and the e'shaton vibrated in response, building up a shield consisting of bundled sound waves. She then rammed the end of the staff into the ground, holding onto it. The shield became smaller, yet more dense or, so to say, thicker.

Only a heartbeat later the ship exploded - and the Half-Siren knew what that voice had tried to tell her. It was only logical, what with all the gunpowder on board. In the moment of the explosion, Lucind also knew she would've needed to create something stronger to protect her, to put more strenght into it.
She was around hundered feet away from the ship. But although her shield levelled out a part of the explosion's force, it finally sent her flying backwards...

There was no forest base. Not even a foundation. The only indicator that undead had been in the forest at all was the large patch of wilting and dead plantlife, the smell of brimstone, and the tingling sensation of lingering magical effects.

Lingering magical effects?

At the start of the battle, the liches had cast spells different from the other mages, who were lobbing fireballs at the city. One lich had created a barrier to protect the mages from ranged attacks, either from the ground or air. The other lich laid magical traps around their encampment; one of which the Heavy Lifter was about to step in.

Lines of thick webbing shot out from two trees the Walker was walking inbetween, creating a thick, sticky net for it to walk into. It was strong enough to hold back an ox, so it would probably slow down the giant robot for a moment or two; long enough, perhaps, for the giant Wraith Spider to pounce down upon it from above.

Unfortunately for the poor spider, it's "prey" was a giant robot.

A wave of salt water from above penetrated the sewers, flowing through the floors. At first the slug moaned as the water seared his flesh; not because of the holy water, all the blessings of single priest and his water wouldn't phase this beast. It was a slug, it had other reasons for not liking the water.

BOOM!!!!!!!!

It formed one of its ends into a point and smashed through the wall of the sewer, creating it's own cozy cavern where it could incubate undisturbed. How cute, it would soon be time to give birth to a slew of cute little baby slugies through the miracle of asexual reproduction. Yet, even as it generated new existance, it's innate instinct told it that its life, or existance, was in danger. Spiders came forth from the massive beast's body by the thousands, it had absorbed plenty of them. These were big spiders, each about the size of a big toe, most of them had hypodermic needles filled with slug gunk and mixed drugs of the illegal variety stuck to their backs. They crawled through the sewers quickly, their legs sticking to the walls as they moved along the sewers in near silence.

The slug began wailing again, this time it's wails were mingled with a cry that sounded like millions of distressed babies with rampant collic screaming uncontrollably.

*Yianah's air bound troups were speeding overhead of the battle on the ruined shore just as the ship exploded. She clutched at Ki'tain's neck, gripping the reigns tightly as her mount moved into a repetative barrel roll to avoid the the shockwave and splinters from the devestation beneath them.

Most of the three squadrons flying on her wing followed suite, all taking measures to avoid being hindered in their flight path.
However, three of the younger wyverns weren't so fortunate. They had been too close, and their instincts too poor... Bellies and wings singed, scaled bodies pierced by enourmous splinters.

Like birds shot out of the sky, they plummeted towards the earth, no longer capable of keeping themselves air borne.

The first crashed into the burning wreckage of the ship, letting out a high pitched shriek. Such a sound capable of rupturing ear drums, especially those with sensative hearing... or causing temporary deafness.

The second, having moved into a late barrel roll... had managed to save one wing. Trying desperately to stay aloft he spiralled. The wounds from his punctured side raining scalding blood over the area and the people beneath it.. before crashing into part of the outter wall.

The third, a young female tried to slow her descent... but it was of no use. She falls from the sky like a shot from a gun, crashing into the sandy battlefield only 15 feet from the heated battle. Enraged by the blistering pain of the burns and her pierced, bleeding body... the creature's gaze settles on the nearest thing. A fleeing horse and a blue haired woman.

With a pain filled shriek the wyvern rampages towards Lucind clumsily.*

=======

*Yianah paid no attention to the fallen beasts and instead screamed inwardly about the loss of such a significant number of her forces. 700 undead and their guiding masters... all lost to the fiery wreckage.

She urges Ki'tain to hurry towards their destination... She was furious and something and plenty of someones would have to pay.*

Eli's head pokes through the sign. Splinters of wood are sent flying. The creature blinks, seemingly confused by what had just happened. It remains in this position for several seconds, looking up at the sky, then down at the sign.

CRACK!

One arm shoots through the old HoH advertisement (Right through Reiko's nose to be exact). With its right arm freed, the creature is able to pull itself through the hole initialy created by its head. Steadily the creature pulls out its body, and drags itself with one arm across the billboard.

Why's Eli dragging itself with one arm? Well, the rest of its body appears to be horribly mangled! It's left arm was practically shattered, with bits of what looks like bone jutting out of various places, ripping through muscle and skin. The rest of its body was in similar condition. The legs looks particularly gruesome because they were all bent at the knee in ways that just wasn't natural.

Skkkrrrrt, skkkrrrrt!

Eli reached the end of the sign and plopped back onto the ground. A trail of dark purple blood was left in its wake.

Yeah, the thing was in a tremendous amount of pain...

The creature's glossy, solid blue eyes widen. The blood left on the sign would begin smoking, becoming part of the haze that served at Eli's aura.

The purple haze begins to swirl around the creature. What happened next would be somewhat disturbing.

Eli's head would lift into the air, pulling the rest of its body with it as it "stood". Picture a string puppet being lifted up only by the head; yeah, that's what it did. The rest of its body hangs limply, dangling in odd ways. All those broken bones caused his limbs to bend at more places than usual.

Eli sorta just... started dancing.

Accompanied by the sickening sound of popping bones, the creature would literally start "popping and locking". Its body moving from the feet on up. With each movement, its body would become more and more rigid.

This twisted dance ends with the creature tilting its head from side to side with yet more popping sounds. After quick test of its limb motions, Eli decided it was good to go.

It would continue skipping along as if nothing had ever happened.

The expression on its face would be: '^^'

"....Ah..."

The Shield lifted his head up, even as the shower dampened his clothes. Eyes staring up towards the clouds that seemed to grant out this 'miracle'. The undead horde was melting, fading.. non existant at this point.

Several other Shields nearby were also taking the breather; sitting, standing, tending to the wounded... they all stared at one point or another to the heavens.

Within the Inner City...

Magister Sasarai sat at his writing desk, putting down the leaflet of papers he had been going over. Throughout the entire 'attack' hed been receiving regular reports.

Not that he was worried.

In all the time Latent had existed upon these shores, no foe or malevolent force has ever made it's way into the Inner City. The defensive and peace keeping force garrisoned within the goverment sponsored town was more than enough to keep 'personal' interests safe.

"A pity... the excitement was just starting to grow on me after all."

Within the Outer City...

"It just fell down!"

"Agh-- is anyone injured?!!"

The shouts rang up and down, even as a few Shields were staring at the remains of a billboard. One Shield stepped all over where Reiko's face was, leaving muddy bootprints.

"Egh... I.. uh.. saw something go off dancing that way..."

"D-Dancing?!"

At the Docks...

The ship had exploded, causing yet another uproar of cries and yells from both bystander and Shield alike. They were doing all they could to put out the flames, trying to salvage the docks, even as firemen arrived on the scene, dragging out large hoses.

"What the hell.. is that wail?!!"

"I don't know--- but it's making me want to stab my ears out!"

"All quiet on the Northern front!"

((Crappy post, but I'm going out tonight and don't want to hold anyone up.))

Sensors could pick up the dead plant life, then smell of brimstone, and they could definitely figure out the lack of a base. What they couldn't pick up was the magic energy lingering, thus the webs coming from nowhere were quite the surprise. Of course once it came up it could calculate the amount of force needed to break it. There was now a distinct irony every time somebody said the Lifter was as strong as an Ox.

Course strength didn't matter here, Oxen didn't have tools meant for heavy construction. One of the smaller arms unfolded and revealed a precision laser cutters it used, it was doubtful the web could stand up long against the industrial strength tool. Just a matter of time...

Joseph on the other hand was still wandering around the battlefield right outside of the gate.

"Nothing." Was all he muttered as he kicked the incinerated ghoul corpse.

"Where the hell could they go so fast."

In the sewers of Latent a portal of darkness and wind opened breifly, dropping Red into the sewer. She landed with a dull thud in the holy the water that rushing through the paths after the recent rainstorm. Barely awake, hell, barely alive, she managed to make sure her revolver fell through the portal with her, and now she grasped for it with her left hand, as her right hand wasn't capable of anything. The salt water beat against her wounds, her blood mixing with the flow of the water. She bit the barrel of her revolver to keep from screaming at the initial sting of brine against open flesh.

"Where the hell am I?" she asked, half crying.

Her mind was a blow, much of her blood being scattered across the Barthovas dessert, she didn't have much to go on. Her face was scratched open in multiple places, her left cheek was a swollen bubble, at least three of her ribs were broken as well as every finger on her right hand, and she had multiple bruises and internal wounds on top of that. Her right fingers were a custom job, joints torn, fractured and broken in multiple spots, and twisted, all without breaking the skin. They looked like swollen sacks of rotten meat. It was a good thing he didn't have time to play with her left hand.

Red rolled around, sitting as best she could, which was limply. Then she was blasted with a pshyco wail directly from the source. It made her ears bleed.

"Oh s**t," she said, "This is not my lucky day."

Then she passed out from loss of blood.

"By magical means, almost anywhere. I don't claim to be an expert on the ways of mages."

She looked off at the forest, her eyes searching the direction in which Heavy Lifter had gone. "Your friend is getting ahead of us."

"Sir!"

Henry looked from the display on the beach to the out of breath shield.

"Sir, most of the mess seems to have taken care of itself...lots of casualties granted, but we have a rather large sewer problem that needs exterminating."

Reports were handed over, and a few angry tsk noises were made.

"I'll handle it..." A nod and the soldier ran off.

~~~
Sunstrike was breathing hard, blood pooling on the ground from the wound inflicted, concentration taken up by the sudden WALL of dirt that had borne most of the impact of the explosion from the ship.
Vahn was fighting, Lucind was there...things were all so blurred...and getting cold...
His eyes widened suddenly, when he realized the cold wasn't from the loss. A shadow wrapped round his form.
"You're needed elsewhere, Datho..."
"VAH-!!" Sun was cut off as the portal opened, he and the shadow falling into it.
~~~

"NN?!" Sunstrike hit the sewers unceremoniously. Coughing at the stench of the place. "What the ********, Henry?! SEND ME BACK!!"

"No can do, boyo, I got a job for you."

"Bu-"

The sound...it started at the back of his mind. Something cracked and broke within Sun. He looked wide-eyed at the other man, and hunched over as he began to once again change.

"Have fun Sunstrike." And the other man was gone.

~~~
Flames EXPLODED through the underground. Fed by methane, it blew pothole covers a good twenty feet into the air.
The salamander was on the move and burning white hot.
Spiders, rats, and whatever else would feel it coming, and then be burned to ashes as he tore through, melting stone and leaving devistation in his wake.
There was nothing something such as the worm could do to it. It was elemental, a base. There were no emotions or regrets to twist it's mind into submission. There was only the flame, and the slowly ebbing pain as he made this world conform to HIM.
The worm, in the throws of regeneration, would take a first row seat to something that looked like a fireball with teeth and claws.
It would be ridiculous to say he burned like the sun...half of Gaia wouldn't be there anymore if he did. But it was a good bet that it was on par with most volcanic earthquakes bearing down on the black hearted creature with a serious vengence. Mind...this was only cause it was in the way, and as big as the salamander, therefore considered the biggest threat to it's mission, burning bridges and all that.
Impact would mean an exposion that would tear the salamander and the worm right up into the streets. Spiders and little worms burned to ashes in the struggle.
((Anybody in the sewers, you got a good amount of time to get the hell out of there, cept wormy, who was stuck procreating <3 ))
"I'll handle it..." A nod and the soldier ran off.
...From the west a short gust of wind seemed to zero in on the man. Even as the wind met its target it continued to rush past him.
A mild horizontal spark could be seen shooting off across the section of the guy's torso. Finally the wind had passed. The man stood there, his head angled to view the ground. Whatever race and creed he was of, had changed. His clothes had changed. His body shape had changed. The marks and scars that defined the body had changed style and location as though they told a story about his life. Everything about him had changed.
Reiko: Haris ... ??? Orphan, he never bother taking a last name. That's odd, but not really an important matter. Arabic countries were among the first to develop gunpowder and advanced war tactics so it would be no surprise that he was an expert marksman. But he had to be more or less a genius to have developed a.. gunblade? His is very different from what I've seen though...
'Haris' raised his head and his eyes shined yellow. But...
Reiko: He.. drowned?
The 'revived' Haris picked up a lengthy, ancient looking gun and his own developed gunblade and casually searched around for his target.
Then she passed out from loss of blood.
Two of the men whom had also heard the scream managed to bring a bit of equipment with them. Each member of the security team had sound dampeners in their helmets- it helped reduce the noise when they were making communications. As the TacVisors embedded within their helmets signaled a sudden increase in frequency, they and the rest of the team did what they were trained to do.
They pressed a button on their watches that activated the opposing frequency, thus cancelling the noise- or at least bringing it to a point where it was bearable. That said, their visors picked up another reading- a civillian... no, a combatant. She was armed, the red revolver still held in a tight grip. She was in critical condition, and they didn't entirely have the means to help her right now.
One of them radioed in.
"Leader, this is team four requesting assistance. We have an unidentified woman here on our position in critical condition. Requesting assistance. We will be defending our position here until you arrive. Four out."
Evan's Transmission
Copy that, four. I'm en route.
But once the transmission was finished, something quite interesting happened... three spiders had arrived, and had seen the two of them. "Sir! We got incoming!"
The man turned around, cursed to himself, and quickly pulled the HK G36 rifle from his shoulder. Leveling it coolly, he immediately opened fire on the incoming targets.
"Defend her," he yelled over the gunfire. "Get those rockets out and blow these bastards away! Don't use the incendiaries yet; just pull out your frags and let these things have it!"
The other soldier only nodded as he pulled the pin on an already retrieved grenade and lobbed it. It exploded with a resounding bang shortly after, right in the middle of the incoming spiders. But that didn't mean that the first man stopped shooting- on the contrary. He continued onward.
This would happen all over the Underground, all six teams holding their own while Evan made his way to the team who had radioed for help and Lady Raven went after the slug. He sent her a telepathic message in order to let her know that she would have company soon.
You got creepy crawlies coming on your position, he broadcasted to his lieutenant even as he deflected a few incoming needles and cut through two spiders quite handily. Be careful.
Thing about that was, Evan heard something else. A rumble that was quite quickly approaching, and at a very high speed... A quite oppressive heat was spreading through the caverns, and his eyes widened as he picked up the distinct aura and sheer fire... of Sunstrike.
Dammit, not now! Why the hell does he have to go charging in like this when there are people down here?!
"All units, rescind order to attack! Converge on my position- team four, bring the injured with you! We got someone down here who's the equal of a walking time bomb, and he's headed for the target! Converge on me, NOW!!"
Lady Raven... forgive me, but it's time to go. Come to me, quickly! The Salamander is on the loose... you know him, don't you? We must leave, now!
Lady Raven... forgive me, but it's time to go. Come to me, quickly! The Salamander is on the loose... you know him, don't you? We must leave, now!
Go... I will see you again my lord...*she stopped her attach, turning away from the dying monster to bow to Hugin before the ghost melted away again... It was easy enough to help Sunstrike from within the beast now, stealing the core of necromatic energy that fed the thing...*
*Lady Raven looked at Datho from behind, only half there this time, Icy blue eyes filled with pride as she watched the slug fry. She leaned in to whisper softly in his ear before she dissapeared once more, a voice that he would hopefuly remeber.* Well done my pet, well done... twisted
