We're going to have twenty next year, because we've got so many [awful] freshmen coming up. =/ 23? That's insane. We only marched 12 this past year because majority of our color guard plays flute and I was Drum Major. But for concert there's like.... 25 of us or something like that... And my band director took 9 for the Symphonic band, which is extremely stupid... He should've taken 5 at the most. That way I wouldn't have had to deal with stupid people that can't play.
My school lost its only 2 exceptionally good flute players this year. Myself and my friend Julie. We just graduated. Ooops!!!!
xd I can't wait for college... I'll be the only freshman on picc. They usually only let sophomores play picc, but the director was awed by my audition and said "Yeah... Piccolo. Most definately."
Can anyone else play their Db, D, Eb, E, and F scales 3 octaves?.. I think I've asked before but never got any replies. I'm curious, cause people tell me I'm insane for playing them 3 octaves. The only other person I know who can play their Db 3 octaves is my friend, and that's cause I taught her. And my flute instructor.

Um, I play flute. I've played for five years. I was a sophomore this past year. I've been section leader both of my high school years. I was in districts and all state this year. I got a perfect score at districts, and an okay one at All-State (i was really nervous). I also play in a state-wide wind ensemble, and the first four chair flutes they take for the state-wide symphony orchestra, I was only in the wind ensemble this past year, but I just found out that I made both for next year. So i'm pretty excited. I love playing flute.

: ) I just realized how easy Desafinado is to solo over on flute. I've been working on that all day.

I don't know if this is the best place for this, but I've just been told that since I'm second chair but not a senior, I have to sit between two piccolos for all of marching season. gonk I don't have anything against piccolo players, but I think I might actually go deaf.

I'm just glad our music doesn't go very high. Ours usually goes up at least to high B, but this year the range is lower.
