You walk through the dark, shadowed forest. In the middle of a clearing, with one single ray of light centered on it, is a mirror. What do you see when you look at it?
I see my reflection - I see who I really am inside.
I see who I have become - all my past efforts and endeavors roll before my eyes.
I see potential - the future, with all its possibilties, becomes clear to me.
I see my inner demons. I recognize them, so that I may conquer them.
I see darkness; the mirror is not a mirror, but a window to my soul.
I see someone else - the mirror is not a mirror, but a window, showing me my heart's true desire.
I refuse to examine the mirror. It is an illusion - I do not need it to tell me what I already know.

Wheat? Farfarello thought, but dropped it. He'd had enough food education for the moment. "Like you didn't like the tomato noodles... but Perrault did..." He then recalled Ganzian fire bannok very vividly. That wasn't green... He shook his head. It was like learning to speak all over again.
He looked down at the ground. Well this will be easy, he thought, beginning to pluck off leaves from the fallen tree and strands of grass.

((Glad to see you two having so much fun... Without me.))

Raedou, tired and very sleepy, took this "alone time" to close his eyes and ponder, something he had not done in a long while. He though about what the group would do next. He though about what would become of the princess, Callisto. And then, he thought about the Grand Bishop, Leviathe. The mentor of Jaeto and Raedou, Grand Bishop Leviathe was a powerful knight with a pure heart and razor-sharp wit to compliment his strength. He taught the two knights a special hymn, years back... What was it again?

The Ganzi suddenly remembered as the hymn came to his memory like a swift bolt of lightning...

Here he lies, the sleeping knight.
His soul locked forever in time.
Free him, and his power will soar.
His presence will rend the sky.
Power is...

Power is...

"Damnation..." he cursed under his breath. He could not remember the rest of the hymn, although it was right at the tip of his tongue, taunting him endlessly.

He opened one eye and looked around.

"Hopefully they aren't killing each other." he mumbled to himself, "Wouldn't it be nice if they brought some fresh fruit..."

He yawned and slowly drifted into sleep, dreaming about tropical fruits such as pineapples and mangoes. It was a very good dream, and it made the Ganzi smile for the first time in a while.

((Sorry. I can't stay on right now either, but it's not like our characters can interact right now... Unless you want to play with Cal or something.))

Jaeto was busy dragging his chopped lumber back to the caravan, and failed to notice Farfarello's flawed foraging-techniques.

Unknown to Raedou, Farfarello, Jaeto, Callisto, or Hashmal (who was sleeping, finally), a dark, aqueous force was gathering just above a small, dark, ominous pool of stagnant water, farther in the forest.

A giant bird (about the length of a man's arm) chose that particular time to return to its nest, an egg a couple sizes smaller than an ostrich's clutched precariously in its talons. The bird set it on the pile of other eggs, which were significantly smaller though by no means the size of chicken eggs.
The bird was big, and it looked mean.
Farfarello was hungry, unafraid and tired of his search.
The nest was fairly high up in the tree, which was no problem for the demon. He left Jaeto down on the ground to chop his wood as he scaled the trunk expertly.

Jaeto left the embrace of the woods just in time, though he did not realize it. Suddenly, there was a small flash (out of anyone's vision) and the wood became sealed. For any being with water of any sort running through its veins, the wood could be entered, but not left. Jaeto drug the lumber piece to set near Raedou, muttered something about grabbing the other piece and being right back, then turned to reenter the forest.

((Figures -_-))

Not having noticed the flash, Farfarello was now grappling with the bird at least ten meters up inside of the tree, while both were trying very hard not to break any eggs. The bird clutched Farfarello's scrawny arm with one set of claws, was raking him with the other, tearing at the demon with its beak and beating him with its wings.
Farfarello was biting and pounding and scratching when he could, and altogether being very uncivilized.

((And should I post more or are you going to?))

((Until Raedou can react, I'm not going to post.))

((Alrighty then. I just had to reboot my computer six or seven times just now... Piece of crap... >>))

The bird finally surrendered and flew off skwaking, feathers flying every which way. Farfarello triumphantly snatched the whole nest out of its fork in the branches and made his way back down, very careful not to break them.
In one arm the demon held a nest full of eggs, in the other assorted grass and leaves (among these rubbing against his chest, belly, arm and hand was a fistful of poison ivy). If one or the other seemed about to fall or become unbalanced, he quickly caught it with his prehensile tail before an accident could occur.
Farfarello neared the edge of the woods, spotting Jaeto along the way.
