Callista's heart slowly began to beat beneath the soil. Something had went wrong. She opened the ground and emerged, uncaring of the dirt on her. Valzar?

"Call to her..." Sangula taunted her prisoner. "Go on, she must have noticed something's not right. Call her to you."
Valzar only glared at the creature. He wouldn't call Callista, he would never bring her into danger like that. It didn't matter what the vampire did to him.
Sangula sighed, "How'd I know you were going to be uncooperative. Guess it's a good thing I left that blood trial. That should make her come running, don't you think?"

Callista walked outside, "Valzar? Really now? Hiding?" She stopped when she spotted the blood. She bent and sniffed it, her breath catching in her lungs when she knew it belonged to him. She felt the tears burning her eyes as she shifted. The wolf would do better on this than she could. At least then she could hide behind the instincts of the animal.

"You know, all this time I thought it would be fun to make you kill that little wench..." the vampiress mussed from the comfort of her own cave. "But now...I think I'm just going to wait, let her get a good look at you and then kill you in front of her..." she chuckled. "The girl's such a tender little thing, she'll be such easy pray and her blood is worth so much more than a common warlock..."
Valzar struggled to reach out to Callista's mind to warn her, Stay Away! It's a Trap!

I don't care if it is or not. I have to get you back. She howled, calling the closest wolves to her. They joined her silently, keeping easy pace with her.

No! Callista, don't - please!
Sangula's ears lifted at the sound of howling, "Ah...company..." She forcibly pulled the vine of thorns that wrapped around Valzar's hoof. "Dark magic...very nice, very powerful, and very upset that it's been removed from its host..." she smirked and held the vine up to his throat. The dark plan violently reattached itself, the thorns cutting deep into Valzar's neck as the vine tightened. "And how convenient...it kills you with any effort from me! But don't worry, I'll be taking care of your pretty little girlfriend..."

Callista felt a sharp stabbing in her neck. She looked down, not seeing anything to cause her harm. Her stomach lurched and she lost the form of the wolf. It had to be Valzar's pain. I have to...I love you. She picked herself up and shifted again, stopping at the entrance to a cave. It smelled like a trap, it was a trap. She knew it. But she had to go in. Callista resumed her normal form and walked into the cave, head held high, gray eyes blazing like fire.

"Callista..." Valzar struggled against the vine choking him. "Run!"
"It took you long enough...." Sangula allowed her voice to fill the cavern, disguising her position.

Callista tried to look intimidating, but when she saw Valzar with the vine around his neck, little bits of blood dotting his neck, she lost her composure and ran to him. "Val!" She turned her attention back to Sangula, her voice low and as meanacing as she could muster, "You will pay for hurting him."

The vampire leaped at the female, "You're in way over your head, little girl..."
Valzar struggled against the bonds holding him but at the same time he was starting to feel light headed. The world was getting dark around him...

Callista moved out of the way, glaring. "You are the one who's in over your head." Callista smiled, remembering the one gift that she had that might actually make a difference in this fight. She sang a few notes, which shimmered in the air in glowing brilliance. The moved together, creating a glowing net that drifted toward the vampiress.

Callista kept on singing, taking the extra time she had to gently pull the vine from around Valzar's throat and lick the wounds closed in between notes. Valzar? Valzar, wake up! Don't leave me.

"No!" Sangula hissed trying to claw her way past the music notes. "You will both die here!"
Callista? Valzar whispered drifting, her voice was so far away...

Callista faltered, Valzar! You stay with me! If you leave, we both die! She pulled him over her shoulder and tried to pull him out of the cave with her, still singing her binding song, though not as loud as she was.
