14 people dead, including the shooter.
The man apparently had just been laid off, but they don't know a sure motive.
He attacked a room of people taking a citizenship test.
26 at least were injured.
My friend that I was worried about was in the hospital on lockdown. She got out about an hour ago.
This is surreal to see the news reports and hear about Obama commenting. These sorts of things just don't happen here. Soon enough, we're going to be seeing these sorts of things happen everywhere, sadly.
We've been fortunate enough that nothing like that has happened around here yet...but I'm pretty sure that it's only a matter of time before it does. And we'll likely see an increase in these kinds of things, due in part to the suck-a** economy.
My guess about the why he attacked who he did...if he was recently laid off...some people blame the loss of jobs on illegal immigrants taking the jobs away from US citizens. Granted, the victims were taking the naturalization test to become American citizens (all nice and legal), but since most illegal immigrants don't advertise that they're illegal, he took his anger out on people he knew weren't from this country originally. But this is just my theory, though.
Not that it makes his actions right or anything. Clearly the guy wasn't stable.
