You know you are a band geek when:
you find a Toy Soldier who has a flute and yo ustart to critque how the soldier toy isn't holding the flute parallel to the ground and that the hat is not straght and then you realise that the outfit looks similar to your band uniforms......

((Seriously I just did this like 10 minutes ago!))

-You know your school bell is a high c

-You figure out the note the fire alarm is in(Ours is just a long E)

-You hiccup in time with the music you are playing/listenign to

-You can't stand it when the car blinker isn't on beat with the radio, or other cars

-You consider winter break your schools way of helping you rpactice for regionals(12 hours of daylight-6 hours of school=6 hours to practice. No school=12 hours to practice)

-when you get bored in math class so you try to find a musical way to learn variables(Time signatures)

-when you practice until your face hurts then try and find ways to memorize scale names and sharps/flats to each scale until you fall asleep(I came up with a rhym to remember how many sharps/flats belonged to what scale up to 4 flats/sharps)

-When you do the above to remember how to transpose concert key to your key

-You get a cut on your figner and worry abotu how it will affect your playing abilities rather then the fact that it is bleeding and hurts.

-On a cold day youfidn teh warmest plac in the house and put your isntrument(s) there so they won't get cold.

-You sleep with youir isntrument soemtimes

-You can fall asleep in band class

-You canf al asleep at football games for an entire quarter(I don't know why nobody woke me up)

-When you get a new item for your instrumetn, like a new cleaning swab, reed, mouthpiece, stand, etc, you have to spend hours practicing to celebrate

-You can learn audition etudes the day you get them, and dont stop practicing until you do.

-Your college choices are based on how good the bans are

..when you've told so many "this one time, at band camp" stories that your friends don't recognise it form American Pie.

..when you can play every song on a trumpet, clarinet, saxaphone, tuba, baritone, and trombone, but for 5 years of trying, you've never made a single note come from a flute.

And yes, I've been trying to make a note come out of a flute for 5 years, but I've never been able to *stabs*

What's funny is I play flute perfect but can't play any of those instruments (except Saxophone)

You know your a band nerd when you make a flier with these following jokes,

1) What is the note octave range of a tuba? Twenty yards if you got a good arm.
2) What did the percussionist get on his music page? DROOL. What did he get on his ACT? DROOL. What did he get on his trap-set? A smashed in crater the size of his face.
3) How do you slow down a trombone player? Give him sheet music. How do you make the trombonist stop completely? Put music on the page.

you know you're a group of band nerds when...
a false fire alarm goes off and everyone makes
a song from the beat..lmao!! xDDDDD

our ENTIRE band made a whole song to our
fire drill bell...IT WAS FREAKIN AWESOME!! d:

Me and my dad do that all of the time.. My dad is NOT a band geek, though he did say that he played trumpet back in junior high. But I am a band geek... basically. Seems like every sound creates a beat!

You know you've been with the band a tad too long when...
after exhibition, you leave through the crowded band hall with your Mom, sister and best friend in tow, and while you feel totally comfortable, your sister feels out of place and thinks everyone is staring at her and your best friend is overwhelmed because she thinks band kids are coming at her from all directions and she sees someone randomly wheeling in an xylophone. XD
So effin funny.

You know you're a band nerd when . . . When you let someone listen to your I-pod with you, and when they ask "Hey what is this song?" You answer, "My band."

... When one person warms up, then begins to practice a song, and you (without sheets) join in.
((Extra points if you get others to play along too!))

A trumpet I think started playing a game song, BD went out, and by the time he came back everyone was playing it in time XD

You know you have band fever when....

- When you can tell what note your alarm clock is. Mine's a high D, as of the sound of the saxophone.
- When you clutter your IPod with songs that are played by your band and can tell who in your band is playing what note/part of the song/ full song/ etc.
- When you can come up with your own notes but cannot play all of the original notes.
- When you buy your little sister a clarinet sippy-cup for her second birthday.
- When you name your dog 'Flootzy' and your cat 'Trom-trom'.
- When you scream at someone when they misspell or mispronounce an instrument name.
- When check on your instrument in the middle of the night.
- When you put your warmest jacket on the case of the instrument.

You know you are a band geek when...
- you walk in step with all your friends, all the time.
- when alone, you walk in step with your music (no matter what tempo or time signature it is).
- you practice marking time in high step when you get bored.
- you obsessively clean your instrument every time you practice it.
- you freak out when you chip your favorite reed (yes, you have a favorite). You then apologize to said reed as you give it "the wall test" (smash the tip against the wall) and throw it out.
- you are plotting to arrange the music and help write drills for your senior marching band show...and you're only a freshman.
- whenever someone blows a whistle, you snap to attention, look around for a drum major, and get ready to yell "Three, four, up!"
- you try to play an Eb Clarinet in tune (against all odds).
- you find yourself humming a concert Bb when you're thinking.
- you read "Tone Deaf" comics, and find them hilarious (google that; it's hilarious!).
- you constantly improvise in the middle of your school's fight song during marching band games. Also, your friends get really excited when they pick out the new bits, and immediately learn them. Then they make up their own parts, and you learn them, until you can hardly recognize the song, but it still fits.
- you take every negative comment as a personal challenge, and practice for hours to correct every little mistake.
- you keep tallies of how many times you play a difficult part of a piece correctly at various tempos. In the end, you end up playing the 2- or 4-measure chunk at least 150 times.
- you imagine drills in your head as you listen to music.
- you rock and roll when you want to walk backwards after walking forwards.
- you have practiced turning on your heel and toe, in time, so many times that you've become dizzy and fallen over.
- you love your marching band family as much as (or, possibly, more than) your real family.

You know you're a band geek when...

You roll step in the cafeteria to keep from spilling your food

All of your friends are in or have been in band

You love the new uniforms (I'm guilty of this)

When you listen to music, you automatically pick it apart in your head and listen to each individual instrument (this includes hip-hop)

You always stand with you're feet together and pointing straight in front of you

I was carrying a really full glass of water, and my mom was watching me like I was going to spill it, but of course I rolled my steps and it was fine. She had this totally freaked-out look on her face (because we just got new carpet, and she would hate if someone spilled water on it), and I just started laughing and said "I have ninja/marching band skills!"
