((XD So do we. But what was it that Aiketh thought of making him?))

The girl smiled at the other dragon, although there was something there that made her feel slightly... uneasy? "Micoi... but then, you already knew that," she said, looking sheepishly. Today she had learnt that it was REALLY annoying having others know about you when you knew s**t about them.

"And that would be very nice!" she said happily. Sure, she did not want to miss the fighters but she got the feeling that she could wheedle a fight, or sparring session, out of any of them rather easily on their free-time. Hee hee! <3 ^.~

Illusia was silent for a moment then turned his eyes to study Aiketh. "How about this?" he asked, gesturing in the air for nothing at all. "You clear your own office and in the meantime, I go get something that will shield me? I would be present but invisible to all but you. The more informal the questioning is, the better. We need not give him any information of we don't have to and we need not pressure him lest we need to. This is not a very... fair method but perhaps necessary," the Yellow Officer concluded.

"Also..." he sighed, "should we tell Jett about this? Or shuold we let it remain between the two of us until, or rather if, we find anything troubling? If our suspicions prove untrue, then it would be unfair to put doubts and worries in our already troubled Lord. The less people who knows about this, the better, I think is the case with this situation. No?"

Madiir finally appeared around the castle, a silken robe draped loosely about his thin shoulders. His bare feet slapped against the stone floor. His eyes were still half-shut from sleepiness.

"Yes," Aiketh said slowly, "I think that would be best. I don't think it would be right to put even more strain upon his highness unless we had no other choice. I will be able to have Baran in my office in less than an hour. Will you be ready by then?"

((What's new? =DDD Jinny got her package from Amazon.co.jp and she now got her grabby little hands on DK 25 (in Japanese)!! XDD Kukuku. Loooovely. =D))

"I was born ready," the teal haired dargon said and stood up from his chair, "that's why I have this job," he finished with a smile. "See you soon," he said and, accompanied with a light bow of the head in parting, he turned on his heel and walked out of the room... leaving her to sit alone, in his room no less! What he was about to do or go had to be either important or hard to get around to if he was leaving so quickly. Normally, you didn't leave others alone in your own rooms, right?

((o.O; Rath is having a "racial identity" problem. XD;; He doesn't know what race he is any longer. *laughs*

News on DK vol 25:
Ruwalk sees ghosts/dead people
We get to see Sarazar in Ohkami-san's new style (she be gorgeous~! =D)
>__> Lykouleon wears a rainbowy boa/cloak onthe back cover...
Nadil gives out so much power that we begin to wonder if he really has anything left for himself soon XD
Lykouleon though it time to give Kitchel some new duds that she can rip and tear and wear down while on her missions before she become stark naked XDD; (Oh yes, a cloak will do nicely, Lykkie, lasts long and can become a top and skirt)
Any bets for how long ordinary Dragon Fighters can last in Kainaldia?
Rath likes showing off so he jumps over edges and drags Cesia with him just so he can catch her
Dead officers on the cover DD: Dead-galore~! XD;
The dead talk... yes, talk, not walk... but that's probably soon to come too XD;
Ok, NOW the dead are walking
...People like pulling Sabel around just because he's cute and girly, Tetheus is no exception XD
Last but not least... o.O; Cesia in glasses? Looking like a respectable university student, I say XD; ))

((=DDDD Yay!! That's really exciting. <3 But I may have to kill you if you tell me about it. <333))

Aiketh blinked. Well. This was... a little strange.

Standing with a slight smile and shake of the head, Aiketh glanced out of the window at the angle of the sun before leaving the room as well. If she walked slowly she should get down the the Fighters' HQ just as they were finishing up.

"Hah--!" Metal rang on metal in the sparring ring as the first of several groups of Dragon Fighters practiced their skill. Baran jerked back, pulling out of his thrust as his partner responded in a flash of steel and black hair.

He glanced up at the sky and at the second group starting to congregate nearby and grinned at his friend. Their time was almost up. Soon they could hit the nice cold showers and get some of this sweat off before breakfast. Of course, after breakfast was over they'd be back to work, but...

Aiketh reached the HQ just as the sparring practice was beginning to draw to a close. Standing next to the fence, she drew several nervous glances as those nearest to her tried their hardest to not look as though they were slacking off. Although she was usually there to dismiss them, this was still early...

"That's enough," she called, pushing open the gate in the fence surrounding the dirt ring and striding inside. "Baran," she caughting the fighter by the shoulder as he was walking past her to the showers, "get cleaned up quickly. I want to talk to you about your report on the trip to Arinas."

Baran grinned nervously, subconciously leaning away from the Black Dragon Officer. Oh, s**t. What had he done wrong? He didn't think there was anything wrong with his report... Okay, so it was a little short and cut to the end a little quickly, but he had been distracted! It was either be on time for his date with Celia or pen down minute details for another page!

"Y-yes, Captain."

Celia wandered around dismally, not willing to attempt to invision the layout of the castle again, and thus remaining rather annoyingly stuck being lost. "I should know my way around better than this by now..."She mumbled, seeming a little dissappointed with herself.

'Don't worry about it...If I'm not mistaken, though, its that way from where we are now...'Said Kahaku, gesturing with his tail. He seemed more awake now, and far more allert as to where they were and where they were going.

"Right, okay..."Celia replied, turning in the direction he indicated. She let her eyes slip to the floor, and by the time she brought them back up, she had nearly walked into someone.

"Oops! Sorry..."she said, backing away quickly from the person infront of her. She had seen him before...He was the castle seer, but she couldn't actually think of his name at the moment...

Walking down the hall, Illusia figured that he still had a few minutes before the Black Officer and their fighter in question arrived at the designated room. Himself, he had just arrived at Aiketh's office door and he had made a guess that it was open... which it was.

Slipping inside, closing the door silently behind him, having made sure no one had seen him enter, the dragon wenton a small round in the room, looking it up and searching for anything that seemed out of place or... too "home". He knew Aiketh would look it over when she arrived, but still. This was important.

Moving over to a partly shadowed corner, though not before pulling the curtains of one of the two windows partly closed as an indication to Aiketh to do it completely later, he placed a small stone on top of a small stack of papers. Turning, now leaning on the wall in the semiobscured corner, the Yellow Dragon Officer held up a thin chain with a smiliar stone dangling from it. Holding the piece of jewelry in front of his face for a moment, he then slipped it on.

When Aiketh took the stone, she would be able to see him, though their guest wouldn't. He could signal to her and drop the cover when or if needed. The would probably be here soon...

Aiketh was still standing by the gate, now watching the second group of Dragon Fighters practice when Baran showed up, his short hair still damp from the water.

"Good. Let's go." She began to walk briskly back to the main entrance of the castle, Baran hurrying along after her, his mind spinning.

Taking the quickest way to her office, she wondered briefly if Illusia had already managed to set up whatever he had had in mind. Perhaps she shouldn't have called practice off a few minutes early. There was no time now to worry about that now, however, as her officer was drawing into view. She'd just have to lay her faith in he Yellow Dragon Officer.

"Come in." Aiketh opened her door, sweeping her gaze around the room. If Illusia was already here, she needed to make sure that he wasn't in a position where Baran would walk right into him. He had said she would be able to see him, but...

Her eyes fell upon the small stone on her desk. Ah. Aiketh glanced now briefly to the curtains and the empty space before them. Illusia would be standing there.

"Please," Aiketh gestured at the wooden chair off to the side of her office as she went to sit on the other side of her desk. "Have a seat."

Baran nodded nervously, picking up the chair and bringing it to rest in front of Aiketh's desk.

"Don't worry," Aiketh began. "You're not in trouble." Should she touch the stone? She was uncertain if that would allow her to see Illusia or if it would break the spell. It would be disasterous if that were to happen, but at the same time she needed to be able to see the other Officer. "I just need to go over some of the details about the journey with you." She cast about for his report, then realized that it lay in the stack of papers upon which the rock rested. Well, that solved it, then.

Aiketh picked up the stone, noticing Illusia out of the corner of her eye as she retrieved Baran's report.

"Ah... Yeah..." Baran still seemed nervous and he rubbed the back of his head with an unsettled grin, unaware that there was a third person in the room.

Ahh, there they were, finally, not that he had have to wait for a long time. Some moving about and then they both sat down. Illusia had to confess, Aiketh was a little too far ahead of him but he could always move a bit if he did it carefully. She didn't touch the rock at first, which was understandable, but she eventually had to and when he saw she noticed him he gave her a small nod, scooting a step up the wall so to be more to her side than behind her.

Turning his eyes onto the nervous fighter, Illusia gave a small hand gesture with simply two fingers. Aiketh could start.

"Now, could you tell me in more detail about this storm you encountered on the voyage over there? This was the first major event, am I correct?" Aiketh continued to hold the stone, not certain if releasing it would cause Illusia to become invisible to her once more.

Baran nodded, finally relaxing slightly.

"The weather was nice up until that point," he began, remembering how he had spoken to Celia on the deck of the ship, "and we were making pretty good speed, I think. Um, I could tell that there was more magic around than normal, but not a lot and it was all pretty removed. I was up by the front of the ship when the weather started to turn bad. It wasn't that much at first, but the crew seemed worried and we all went below deck." Baran paused, running over the events in his mind once more. "The storm... hit pretty fast. The waves got big. I could feel them pushing the ship. There was lots of rain. I could hear the thunder. I..." he stopped again, eyes staring over Aiketh's shoulder as he thought back. "I thought I was gonna be sick. My head was splitting. I hadn't felt magic that powerful before."

Baran swallowed, pulling his gaze back to reality.

"It seemed to come in waves. Each got stronger than the last."

Illusia narrowed his eyes, his muscles tensing somewhat. They had only just begun and already it was talk about strong magic. It made him feel uneasy. As Baran continued to speak, Illusia lightly clenched one of his fists that were visible, seeing as his arms were crossed. The stone hanging on the chain was glowing ever so slightly, indicating it was active. This was actually something for the Emperor and the Secretary of the State, or the royal couple if needed be. It was for security and safety, if now something happened and one of the royalties had to "disappear". It was a fail proof way to move someone, without anyone knowing about it, from one place to another, like... say the castle and out to safety would it be attacked.

Biting his lower lip slightly, Illusia nodded once as Baran finished about the storm, the should move on to next important part. The time spent in Arinas and what happened there, if his majesty had acted oddly or different at any time.

Aiketh saw Illusia motion for her to move on and was glad that they were both thinking at the same pace.

"What happened after the storm? You said the ship capsized."

"Yes." Baran nodded, looking a little sheepish, and started speaking quickly. "I know I didn't go into a lot of detail. I don't really know what happened. It all happened very fast and I don't actually remember how the ship sank. I just remember sitting on the floor trying not to heave... and then I was waking up on the shore of Arinas." He shot Aiketh a nervously apologetic look. "Teioz didn't look too well, either," Baran continued slowly as if he was only just now remembering. "I don't blame him, though. The boat was pitching like hell."

"What about the others?" Aiketh forced herself not to look at Baran too intently as she asked this question.

"I don't know..." Baran formed the words slowly, head cocked a little to one side. His brow was furrowed as he looked at the Officer, eyes questioning. What was this really about, anyway? "They were pretty scared... I think Celia might have done some sort of protective spell. You should ask her. Like I said, I wasn't paying much attention to them at this point."

That didn't give them much. Illusia felt himself his tongue in frustration. And it wasn't something they could do anything about that he didnn't remember. The Yellow Officer felt like making a sound but remained quiet. Sighing mentally, he raised his hand slightly to catch Aiketh's attention and then wrote, with his index finger, in the air "Micoi".

This was the most important part, perhaps. How did they find the queen. He remembered there being something, some kind of trouble or problem?, with the future Queen and her youkai companion. He wondered if Baran hadn't gone on in it much or if he had just forgotten about it.
PostPosted: Tue Jul 10, 2007 12:46 am

Aiketh restrained herself from looking directly at Illusia as he wrote something in mid-air. It looked like there had been an "M" in there. Probably "Micoi".

"What about after you reached the continent? You had a good amount of detail about," she flipped through the three pages of Baran's report, "Celia's broken leg and where you stayed on the shore that night. How were the others? Did anything unusual happen?"

Baran was quiet for several seconds, staring at the desk in front of him. "Lord Jett," he finally began, speaking slowly as if struggling to remember exactly. "He was... different. It wasn't anything big. I would have thought he was just tired and upset. I mean, a lot of people died and we were all pretty roughed up. I would have thought it was just that. I kind of did. But..." Baran ran a hand through his hair, "but that wasn't it. He... I don't know how to say it. He was different. He didn't talk a lot that first night; none of us did, but he seemed... cold."

Cold? Cold how? Though Illusia was pretty sure Baran wasn't meaning it in the sense that the Dragon Lord had been freezing, the team would never had allowed that. Cold wasn't like Jett. He was calm and patient, kind and restrained, polite and a politician... but never directly cold. Furrowing his brow, Illusia lowered his head some, the only indication to that he had been effected by what the fighter said. He made a small gesture with the index and middle finger for Aiketh to push onwards... on to Micoi.
