-]Apparently the creature's yammering wasn't quite enough, as the whistle had already worked it's way into the Budew's head. Cerbera grinned as the pokemon was lulled to sleep. "Lilac, great work," she called out, "Now use absorb! Drain the Budew's will to fight!" The Sunkern gave a short cry and began to sap a green energy from the slumbering Budew.[-
Roll for waking up DC. Lilac's SP ATK is 6, so that'd be 6 Damage, right? Also, if the budew remains asleep, would it be legitimate to just run away at this point or would I have to roll for that?

You have to see what I roll first before calculating damage. If I roll lower then you, he remains asleep and the damage is 6 total, yes. And if you want to retreat, you would have to roll.
Edit: Yes I rolled lower then you so 6 total damage.
The pokemon had fallen asleep despite screaming. In dream land, it would try to wake up. Snores would come from the pokemon as it was now at a very vulnerable state. Sleeping wasn't exactly the best way to battle.

-]Cerbera was relieved to see that her pokemon's attack was working out the way she had hoped. "Great work, Lilac!" she exclaimed, "Keep at it! Drain that thing's energy." The Sunkern gave another short cry in response and continued to sap that green energy from the Budew. It would likely keep going until something cut off this connection.[-
Roll is for waking up DC. Mkay, good to know. Assuming Budew doesn't wake, another 6 Damage. Hmm...from the battle room, though...I thought the wake check was after the attacks. No harm if I'm wrong.
The pokemon would continue to try and wake up from dream land. He was in the middle of a great dream but dreams were not supposed to be changing his perception on reality.

-]Something cut off Lilac's connection, far sooner than either Berrie or the Sunkern would have liked. "Keep going, Lilac," she called out, "You can do this." Nodding, Lilac shifted her aim and tried to reestablish a connection with the Budew to drain it some more..[-
it was more confusion than a question.I thought that the freebie attacks on a sleeping pokemon "took place" before they rolled to wake up, so even if they did wake they'd still take the hit. Also, this would be another attack roll for me, right? or am I on defense this time?
No, actually since I rolled higher then you trying to wake up, the freebie attack did not land. Also it's now going to be your defense turn now that Budew woke up..
The pokemon would finally awaken. Boy was he angry! The Budew would charge before shooting leaves towards the Sunkern to teach it a lesson after causing him to fall asleep like that!

-]It had been a bit of a shock when the Budew had woken up, but even more of one when it had hurled some sharp-looking leaves at poor Lilac! Luckily the Sunkern was able to leap out of the way. Cerbera responded to her pokemon's success but telling her, "Great job so far! Now's your chance. Get that absorb trained back onto Budew!" Sunkern cried out, trying to make contact with that glowing green energy once more.[-
Gotcha, so my previous roll was the defensive roll then. I'm getting the hang of this. This would be the attack roll for my turn then. If I'm mistaken in that respect, just consider it a Counter Attack, but tell me which one it is for learning's sake.
With this final hit, the Budew hit the ground unconscious.. The Sunkern would feel a familiar glow which meant she had grown a little stronger and they were now free to continue on their journey!

-]"Yeah! You did it!" Cerbera exclaimed, hopping up and down in excitement. She had one her first battle against a wild pokemon, and without a type advantage to boot! The girl hugged her Sunkern tightly and then paused her celebration. "Let's...get out of here before we wake up something else..." she said, running deeper into the woods.[-
-]Cerbera seemed to catch a break, getting away from the unconscious Budew and doing so without alarming anything else in the forest. She took deep breaths as she ran, trying to keep herself ready for whatever may come next. She was still in high spirits, however, and kept this pace, racing through the forest as fast as she dared to go, her Sunkern grasped firmly in her arms.[-
In the same sudden appearance as how he'd been brought to the arena, he'd been brought back to the Island of New Beginnings. He thanked the Abra, and it was time he finished his first mission. His pokemon were stronger now, which would hopefully make this easier.

Eventually, several abra started teleporting people out of the room. That included Alexander and his pawniard, and soon the duo were back at where they started from. The sudden rise in temperature caused the boy to shudder a bit as he wasn't quite so used to the heat of the volcanic area anymore. Titania was not pleased at all with the turn of events, but since she still had some food from the party, she didn't bother getting herself recalled. It seemed the area was empty for the moment, so the duo started on their way up the path. They still had their mission, and now that he had a bit more stuff, Alexander was fairly confident that he'd succeed this time.
{{OoC: After much hunting, found my last island post before life took over. Not entirely sure who to quote anymore so just quoting the three of you for now.}}
Arriving at the Island quickly thanks to the Wartortles, Shinx is the first to jump off and sniff at the air. Poppy shoulders her packpack again before stepping off, and dips her head to the Wartortles. "Thank you for the ride." Turning towards the island, she examines to see where she'd ended up. According to the other students, there was a volcano, a bog, and a wooded area. Her mission is to try and obtain a water Pokemon at all costs, but as long as she doesn't get the volcano that shouldn't be too hard, as long as she can find a pool of water to use her Old Rod in.
