WHY IS IT SO WINDY

My heart is like hammering in fear. Branches keep smashing into my window and I'm scared a tree will uproot and hit my car.

Aivi: Because it's not windy here? confused
How fast are the winds, and what kind of trees are near your car?
It takes a lot of force to actually uproot a tree, you'd have much more of a chance of a tree getting hit by lightening, splitting and falling on your car.
Or even more probable, a branch breaking and falling. neutral

In all my time living here, I rarely ever hear about a tree being uprooted by the common wind we get.

But there will be easily spotted signs if a tree is going to be uprooted, by looking around the tree for cracking in the soil.

Here's an article you can read though. Uprooted Trees, can you predict them?

It's Kansas Syndrome. And I'm getting tired of it.

I will tell you how windy it is: when I looked out my (2nd story) window, I couldn't see the big a** tree. Then the wind stopped blowing and the tree came back into sight by snapping upright again.

We've never had 40 mph gusts in the middle of spring for all the years I've been here. :/

Why do I have to have such a depressed mood now? I thought we were done with this until next winter?!

Oh yeah. Maybe the reason why I feel like such s**t has something to do with a few people telling me that I'm wasting my entire life being stuck at home to my father's beckoning call. That's such the boost of confidence to have a friend pretty much say you're a waste. Seriously, if you're going to do me any good, get me a definite shoe in with a job I'd like. Not some place that'll make me want to quit in a matter of weeks, such as Grinders or OnRamp.

Phht. talk2hand I've had winds blowing 50 and more since the 12 years I've lived here.
Normally it's around 35 - 45 mph for average wind.

But hell yeah!! Rain, cool 70 degrees this is heaven.
Let it prolong summer as much as possible. crying

Don't take it like that, Eve. I think it's more like... when you're dating a jackass, your friends will tell you you can do so much better. They're saying you have the potential to be more than a household servant and you should go out and find something better.

xp It's not all that bad. The winds mostly stay around end of january til summer.
The winter's are cold for us desert rats, dropping down into 35-45 at night, and staying 50-65 during the day.

It's the summers that are murder, staying in triple digits the majority of the time.
And for night time we're lucky to get 85-90's.

Traffic isn't as bad as living in the city, but the drivers are still the same, just not as many.
So it's alright most of the year, just stay away between may til october.

But when you hear it over and over again, even after putting in applications within a 50 mile radius, called places and been told they aren't hiring, and you've done as much as you can to actually be a normal adult... it gets really old really fast. =.=

All of my friends know I'm sick of being stuck at home. All of my friends know I've been applying to as many jobs as I can that I won't eventually hate. Hell, I'm even going to go to my old work, Best Buy (which I detested with all my being because I HATE being stuck behind register and told to stay in my zone--plus had two supervisors that did NOT like me because I was a threat to their position), to see if I can be re-hired in Media.

It's just ONE person that keeps telling me to go to the college she goes to, get a job at work where she and another girl work, move in with her and this said other girl... x.x It's like that married friend that says "you should get married too!"

Wow... uh... that sounds really... odd. Is she a lesbian? Because, I mean... damn. She wants you to live with her, work with her, and go to school with her... Um... very clingy.
