True. I thought Biden was more to the point though, and definitely explained both his and Obama's beliefs and priorities much more clearly than Palin did.

Still, her popularity is dwindling without the debate. Plus, the Alaska Supreme Court tossed out her case that was slowing up the investigation into her alleged "abuse of power". So I guess we'll see where that goes in the next few weeks.

Oh, Spider...have you heard anything about an American movie of Transmetropolitan? I saw an old friend, and we were talking about comics, and I mentioned that I liked Transmet, and he said there were plans for a movie. He also said that he thinks they're waiting to see how the Watchmen movie does.

I was just wondering if you had heard anything.

Your friend is full of s**t. The state of Transmet as intellectual property was made quite clear to me by Darrick Robertson himself.

I see.

I hadn't heard anything, and certainly couldn't find any information other than some people discussing whether a Transmet movie was a good idea or not. Oh well, I'm not sure whether I'm disappointed or happy that what he said isn't true.

I'm kind of surprised Palin did as well as she did after things like the Katie Couric interviews. She held her own better than I'd expected given previous statements.

Jo kept IMing me about the "nucular" thing though. Like. Constantly. xd heart

Well, depending on how the vote goes, I may be going on strike next week. The union representative thinks we might get away with a one day strike, but personally I'm prepared to go for more if needed.

If I was afraid of a fight I wouldn't be where I am today...

And I find it amusing that I keep hearing in my head "ROW ROW FIGHT THE POWER!"

I think it's a Republican thing, because Dubya is a retard and can't pronounce it correctly most Republican/conservative pundits say "nucular" while most Democrat/liberals and centrists pronounce it correctly.

That said, I was expecting Miss Teen South Carolina. I was pleasantly surprised that she didn't give it to us. I think Biden totally won on points, but they may have come across more equal on crowd appeal. But they do it in different ways - Palin tried to be like, "I'm just like you," and Biden went more for the, "I feel you guys" angle.

I've also been thinking about how my brethren on the left have been all, "How do these idiots even support a person that's just like them? I know I want my president to be a freaking super genius!" Even my family is like that (though I think they're more hardcore Dems than pinkos like me). And...I think that analysis kind of misses the point.

I don't think that most people want a president LIKE them. They want a president that they can feel empathizes with them, which is how a freaking Rhodes Scholar was seen as an everyman. (Shoot, we even called him "Bubba.") I think that's where Hillary finally managed to hit it out of the park with blue dog Dems - well, yeah, I think part of it is her skin color and her proper WASP ethnicity, but I also think that part of it was that Obama was - and still is - often perceived as aloof and atmospheric in his worldview.

...of course, lately he's actually been THERE, becoming human, but you know how it goes.

That said, I think Gov. Palin's problem was the obvious - people think she's a mental lightweight. (I don't necessarily think so myself. I think it's more that Team McCain is so damn inept the only good thing they've done so far is design the campaign logo. Let's be honest - the star, and the fact that the signs are blue and gold instead of the standard red, white, and blue, is almost as iconic as Obama's campaign logo. All things aside, the McCain campaign has top-notch graphic designers.)

I'm biased, of course - I was rooting for Biden to demolish her or let her hang herself. But I think that, in terms of answers and being comprehensive, Biden handed her tight little a** to her on a silver White House platter.

Ho s**t, Palin's talking about homosexuals!

d**k AND COVER!

What I initially read this as. sweatdrop

That was GREAT, though. She used the, "Some of my best friends are gay!" excuse ON NATIONAL TELEVISION. My God. xd

She kept going in circles and Biden kept giving points. She didn't fall on her a** like I was expecting but I can tell those circles she kept running in were well scripted dialogue for when she was on the ropes.

I don't think she's stupid, you don't get to where she is by playing nice. But at the same time, I think she's way out of her league and she's costing her boss points where it matters. The Maverick's gamble on winning the Hilary vote is failing, she convincing a lot of undecided voters to the opposition.

And yeah, that some of my best friends bit made me laugh too! xp
