So, I just got some interesting information concerning our contract negotiations with the YWCA.
1. The voter turnout was overwhelming. 2. The vote was unanimous. 3. The YWCA is not budging on the issue of not giving us raises.
We'll be voting again on Friday (the last vote was for a strike authorization, so the union can say that the bargaining unit is willing to strike for this, and Friday's vote will be to decide whether we actually go on strike or not)...and depending on how that goes...we may be on strike on Monday.

Oh, Spider...have you heard anything about an American movie of Transmetropolitan? I saw an old friend, and we were talking about comics, and I mentioned that I liked Transmet, and he said there were plans for a movie. He also said that he thinks they're waiting to see how the Watchmen movie does.
I was just wondering if you had heard anything.

Nothing very complete, though - like no huge details.

Zelyhon So, here's today's (yesterday's, actually) Law School moment of the day. We're talking about McAvoy v. Medina in Property. The basic point of this case is that someone left a wallet on the table at a barber's shop and someone else picked it up, gave it to the owner to hang onto, and went into more law things after that people probably don't care about. We're discussing whether the wallet was lost or mislaid (yes, this actually matters) with the professor trying to demonstrate that it could have been lost when he asks if anyone has been to a barber shop recently. This is about where it ought to be noted that this last weekend, I went home. While I was there, I did, in fact, go to a barber's shop and get a haircut. And I sit in, effectively, the front row. So I raise my hand, getting a few people around me to chuckle. Professor: Alright, so then, what do they have a lot of in a barber's shop? Zely Brain: Uh...I know he's fishing for something specific to make his point, but I don't know what it is right now. Make a joke to distract people while I think! Zely:...Hair? The answer, incidentally, was magazines. I got it when he clarified what he was asking. He was trying to say it could have been hidden and on the table at the same time. And here's today's actual moment: You know Law School's getting to you when something like this happens. We're having a few classes switch around due to teacher schedules over the next few weeks. Fridays, I have Civil Procedure. This upcoming Friday, Civil Procedure is being replaced by Torts (and later, the opposite will happen). In Civil Procedure this morning, at the beginning of class, the professor says that there will be no torts on Friday (and still no Civ. Pro. either) because the professor's in the hospital with something (nobody really knows, I guess). My first thought wasn't anything like "what does she have" or "I hope she's okay." No, it was "SWEET! Three day weekend!" I have an appointment at court (as a witness) next Thursday. I'm sorely tempted to take Friday off since I have Monday free due to it being a holiday... the 5 day weekend idea tempts me like you would not believe.

You only take one day off and get a 5 day weekend? I'd think that would be worth it, but I don't know how many days off per year you get or have left.
