"So you would send me away?" asked Marie, almost crying. "Right when you need me most, when my home is threatened by that monster, you would order me to leave?"
PostPosted: Thu May 07, 2009 1:15 pm

"If it should come to a fight, than two ships, even with you on board, would not make nearly enough difference here. But you could make that difference at Yag'Dhul," Marr said, holding her by the shoulders as he spoke.

"I made a promise to the Givin, Marie. I told them that they would be treated as equal citizens of Lyra, and I intend to keep that promise. That means not abandoning them in their time of need. There are Lyrans on Yag'Dhul who need you, brave soldiers who will die in vain if they do not recieve reinforcements. They need you, Marie, and that is all that should matter to you right now."

------------------------------------------

Back on Yag'Dhul's largest moon, two of those soldiers were locked in a sealed room with enough atmosphere to take off their armored suits. The Mark IV Assault Droid stood guard on the other side of the door, Zoe having programmed it to follow orders given by whoever spoke the correct passcode.

Meanwhile, Zoe and Lucky were changing into some of the Republic uniforms they had stolen off of the dead soldiers in the tunnel. Since all of the soldiers had been killed, they had to mix and match different pieces of uniform that were still intact. It took a bit of effort to make it all fit together seamlessly, but eventually they got it.

After suiting up, Zoe doused the bodies of the Republic soldiers with a flammable liquid and dropped a flare onto it. Then she and Lucky walked out into the hall, spoke the override code to the droid, and began traveling through the tunnels once again.

"I understand," said Marie, wiping the moisture from her eyes. "What will you say to Demaia?"
PostPosted: Thu May 07, 2009 1:24 pm

"I will try and make her understand that a fight here, today, would only be playing into the hands of the Republic. That any conflict between us would only give the Jedi the opportunity they need to deal a fatal blow to the Sith."

Marr looked up for a second, glancing at the walls and pillars of the grand throne room. He thought back on his short reign here, on the dreams he planned on building here, on the great designs he had in mind for Lyra's future.

"And if she will not see reason, and if there is to be conflict between us, I will make sure that such a conflict will begin with one of us meeting their deaths."

-----------------------------------------

"Stop," said Lucky after they had traveled for some time through the tunnels. "I forgot to do something."

He pulled out a cutting torch, ignited it, and preceeded to erase the symbol of the Lyran Homeworlds on the Assault Droid. Then, after he was satisfied, he put the torch away and continued moving...

"You cannot die," Marie said, moving close enough to Marr's face so that their noses almost touched. "You are more than a man, more than mere flesh. You are a dream, a vision, an idea..."

Marie closed her eyes and tilted her head just slightly, moving forward just as Marr realized what she was doing.

"...and ideas are bulletproof."

She kissed him softly, holding him on her lips for several moments before withdrawing and moving quickly towards the elevator leading to the Waterfall Hangar.

Bahl, now clad in his personal armor, clambered aboard the Punisher-class Corvette and pulled on his helmet. Modeled upon the Mandalorian style of armor it featured integrated particle and energy shields mounted upon the shoulder pads and, each capable of 25 charges before depletion but lacked the strength of mandalorian iron, the secret concoction that the mandalorians continued to guard with their lives.

Inside the helmet a heads up display was fed with tactical information from the others he had communications with. An integrated comm link and voice command system made it so that secondary systems could be controlled without a keypad. Secondary systems like the adrenal dispenser and painkillers in case of injury.

On the hud a timer marked the time till the kinetic rounds struck their target. A cold smile slid across his face, "Launch fighters and strike teams, all ships are to head to the jump off point."

A chorus of acknowledgments answered him as the corvette lifted off the deck and shot from the hangar. As the ship dived toward the planet he cooly walked over to the weapons locker beside the door and pulled out an ion pistol and an ACP rifle. He grabbed a fistful of magazines and power-packs for each and as many grenades as he could carry of various types.

High above the planet's pole another Punisher-class Corvette dropped out of hyperspace and flared its engines as it dropped toward the world. Seleene had arrived.

The three kinetic energy rounds screamed over the pole of one of Yag'Dhul's moons, their path bending downward from the gravity... They screamed in at over an eighth of the speed of light, and landed square where they had been designated.

The first two rounds exploded with a brilliant blue white plume on the shield as their proton loads detonated, weakening the shield to the breaking point. Then the third round struck, a kinetic energy round it screamed through the shield as its terminal guidance tweaked its course for a millionth of a second... and the solid slug of metal, molten from reentry slammed into the shield emission station for a ten kilometer square area of the planetary shield.

No one needed to be told what to do, the entire force of corvettes and fighters dove for the opening screaming through the hole before leveling off a hundred meters above the ground and screaming toward the capital at a velocity just shy of mach one.

With a grim smile Bahl commed the Pazak Deck, "Tell the Givins we're here."

Onboard the Pazak Deck a complex message was broadcast across all frequencies, to the sith on the ground it looked like a mountain of problems from the most difficult mathematical textbooks they had seen in school. But to the Givins that saw it, it was nothing short of a call to arms.

Coruscant Nightlife

“Then you’ll just have to follow my lead.” Melissa let out a soft laugh as they walked, finding that she enjoyed his company, as well as how good he felt with in her arms.

“Wine me and dine me oh captain my captain.” She purred and snuggled up closer to him underneath the sheltering embrace of his arm and the warmth of his body pressed up against hers.

Randall walked through the bustling streets of Coruscant, enjoying himself more and more with every passing moment. He was so distracted by the good time he was having, and the warm, cozy feeling of Melissa walking so close beside him that he didn't feel a disturbing feeling in the Force until long after he would have under normal circumstances.
"It hasn't felt like this since... Nar Shadaa!" He muttered, realizing with a start what the feeling meant. He stopped dead in his tracks, pulling Melissa close to him with his left hand while his hand darted towards his blaster with his right. "Hold on." He said, body flushing with adrenaline. "I think we're about to have trouble."

Ritt blocked, dodged, and evaded as necessary, pushing himself back and using the force to open the door out to the hallway. Several surprized crew members halted and backed up, as he tugged at his apprentice with the force, trying to draw her in closer.

Nakara was pleased; while he had lost his bets on Cene, his instinct about the Echani was right. something was different. He sent a messenger to Sonya and her new master, telling them both to meet up in the main hangar bay of the arena. As for now, he had a crowd to address.

"People, you have your victor! May the Gladiator stay in the center, so I may congratulate him personally!"

Volgen was about to contact the landing pad authorities to land PR1M3. He lightly puffed from his pipe as he went over the controls. A warning went off on his HUD. With a twitch of his eye he pulled up the message.

" Pre-Conformation... So they know we are... Oh I see. Nakara knows we are coming. Damn he is good. "

Gray walked in and bowed to Volgen. He walked to the main controls of PR1M3 and sat down.

" We have Pre-Conformation for landing in the main hanger of the arena. Make sure you send a scout droid ahead of us. Some thing tells me we are not landing cause Nakara wants to shake hands. " Volgen puffed again as he watched the droid float down to the surface. Gray waited a moment and then followed. Once getting closer Volgen looked over the readings.

" Nothing out of the ordinary. Ill be leaving with Sonya and getting a better look around. Where is that girl..."

Coruscant, Night life.

Melissa looked up at Randall as he spoke and could easily sense the ripple in his emotions as he went from happy to protective.
“Nar Sha-eep.” She started to ask as he pulled her in tight to him and told her to hold on to him. She would have gladly held him tight to her, his body pressed against hers, but his increasing anxiety she had to put her growing feeling for him in the back of her mind. She allowed him to encircle in the protective embrace as he swept her close, his blaster appearing in her free hand. Melissa sighed inwardly to herself, suppressing the anger she was feeling that someone was about to interrupt her evening. She slid her free hand inside of her long coat, fingers wrapping around the hilt of her lightsaber.
“As long as I’m with you I’m not worried.” She spoke softly and calmly, smiling up at him.

Pash stood where he was and cricked his neck.
The Mandalorian had fought hard, but Pash needed to win.
Now he gauged his chances and started weighing his odds. He looked over the cheering crowds and raised his hand to recognize them while subtly checking for exits.

Gray slowly flew PR1M3 in, Volgen watched as the security payed little attention to them. Gray gave Volgen a glance as the ship touched down. Gray followed Volgen to the loading ramp as he gave him the same look when things didn't feel right.

" I get it old man. Nakara has this place under his thumb and there is a reason why we are here. But all I can think of is... "

" All ya can think of is that he wants us to meet him here? Big shot like him? I am tellin ya now boy, some thing is a foot and I don't like it. " He turned back to the lift and shook his head.

" Just get that girl out here! " Volgen stood waiting on the platform scanning every thing he could, things he might use if things got out of hand. Nakara was smart, smart enough to use people under him. Volgen was hoping he was not one of them.

"C'mon out, Nilar, I can smell you!" Randall called, trying to sound a lot more confident than he felt. "Let's not drag this out!" Damn, I thought I'd lost this goon last month... he thought, his mind racing. He scanned his surroundings, trying to see anything hidden, to no avail.
"Behind you, Dahn." Came a deep, raspy voice from not far behind Randall and Melissa. Randall spun around to see his foe. A cloaked, dark armor-wearing figure holding a nasty-looking blaster rifle aimed at Randall's midsection. "Don't think you can hide behind that girlie, Dahn. Junda doesn't take kindly to smugglers who run out on debts."
"I told you last time, I paid Junda everything I owed him for that botched run. He tacked on a fee for no reason, after I paid him." Randall held his blaster at his hip, aimed towards the bounty hunter, but not directly at him. He didn't want to shoot unless he had to.
The bounty hunter swept back his hood, revealing the horns and dark skin of a Zabrak.
"Junda doesnt' want to hear your excuses, he just wants his money. I'm here to bring you to him, dead or alive. I prefer dead, but sadly, Junda wants you alive. Let's not make this any more difficult than it has to be."
"Come on, Nilar, you remember what happened last time" Randall said, "You couldn't stop me before, what makes you think you'll get me now?"
"Because I learn from my mistakes. This time I brought some friends."
Nilar gestured briefly behind Randall and Melissa with the barrel of his rifle. Randall looked quickly behind him, seeing that two similarly-armored figures, a human and a trandoshan, also pointing blasters at the pair.
Randall turned his attention back to Nilar, heart sinking. Great, we're outnumbered, and they're better armed... he thought, beginning to panic. "Now what?" he muttered, both to himself and to Melissa.

Two Hours into her advance upon the Lyrran homeworld and Marr's forces were scrambling to man their battle stations. There were clearly not enough ships to defend every world that the Lyrrans called home and in Demaia's eyes this would be a near effortless victory.
She yawned and flipped another page in her holobook.
"Are we there yet?" She asked in a bored tone.
"Not yet, Milady. We are advancing steadily." The Helmsman said.
"Ugh. I will grow old as Marr's whore of a servant before we get there." She muttered irritably. "Can we not go any faster?"
"Milady, if we jump in towards the system, we run the risk of dropping out into a trap prepared by Marr. Furthermore, we need time to make on site repairs to the hyperdrives."
Demaia groaned and resumed reading her holonovella. Seven hours until Lyra burned.
