Rae x Rae MegamanPsy So, have you been enjoying your newfound fame as an unfair mod who bans all the GD regs and kills the "good" threads? Personally, I was having a great deal of fun watching them b***h, then reporting them to be B& again. From what I've seen, the GD is considered the armpit of Gaia. Even the Chatterbox seems to have more respect that the GD currently does. So, rock on, Soundblast. wink And welcome to the guild, Jackie!

Great Tattooist Oni Skizzors Going to con this weekend. Gonna try to "sneak" into Ichi the Killer, unless I decide to do something else.. XP (they don't really ID for anything less than 18+, and they have this one at 17+, so sneaking not really required)
Srsly. I watched that movie and it was the most horrific display of sadism I've ever had the displeasure of encountering. I'll spoiler text this, but you ought to have an idea (maybe you already do) of what you're setting yourself up for. I should also say that I'm not throwing up this warning because of your age, but because it's just beyond the pale and I felt pretty ******** sick by the time the closing credits came on. So;- Graphic, disturbing rape scenes
- A woman's n****e is held down to a glass table and cut off with a razor blade
- A man is tortured by suspending him by meathooks and has hot oil from a frying pan thrown onto his back
- A man's cheeks are torn out by handThat's all I can remember, as it's been five years since I saw it, but that's a fairly good overview of what goes on...why the hell is it only 17+ at the con..? xd Oh well. I ended up not seeing it anyway - mom and I (yes, luls) went to go see it, but we got the schedule off by half an hour. We were early. We had to sit through this horribly-acted Korean soap opera bullshit and after like 20 minutes of that we couldn't possibly stay awake for an entire movie, so we're gonna rent it.. (your last point was actually a major reason I wanted to see it) EDIT: Unless Blockbuster doesn't have it, which it has just occurred to me that they probably don't. In which case, uh. Yay Amazon?

My boyfriend bought it on sale last Halloween at Best buy....I still haven't seen it, but he liked it. He's REALLY into horror movies though. And I'm really more interested in Oldboy anyways.

The MPAA rating system is fairly convoluted but there does not exist a more stringent rating than NC-17 for movies submitted to them for a rating, so the difference between R and NC-17 is that minors are allowed to be present in a screening of an R rated movie provided they have an adult to vouch for them, whereas under no circumstances are minors allowed into a screening of an NC-17 movie.
Also, the general criteria for awarding a film an NC-17 rating is the absolute murkiest of the criteria in their entire scale. Violence and profanity are generally an afterthought when making the leap from R to NC-17. The big three that I remember were "abhorrent behavior," sexual content, and drug use.
