Certainly.

I'm mainly sick of the current level of "phantom drama". Because I dare to get annoyed at someone who just doesn't ******** learn, several of you get shunned. The fact that someone whose back I've had multiple times over the years lied to my face, and poorly so, doesn't help either.

So in the interests of the Guild as a whole I either have the option of hunting down and kissing the collective asses of a bunch of people who are in current refusal to be anywhere near me or remove myself from the fold. And since my only real reason for remaining on Gaia these days is the AG, that renders logging on mostly pointless.

Amazingly, despite being the biggest a*****e in the history of assholes, I'm pretty sure I've never made anyone choose between being my friend and someone else's. And I'd rather keep it that way, even passively.

At least if I leave, I'm not going to issue the lot of you a blanket slap to the face by accusing you all of being greedy item-grubbers on my way out.

I guess if you're Jay-Z, that makes me Kanye West. Why that is important I do not know. It feels significant.

I guess what I'm saying is that Gator is the boss and I'm the bombast.

Stream, you've been a fantastic and positive influence in my life for somewhere around three years now, and losing you from the AG would be a true blow. I hope that if you do decide to leave Gaia that you'll make yourself available through other means, because I certainly don't want to see you disappear from my life.

As for the people driving this divisive bullshit, well y'all just make me sick.

Well, I hope you don't leave Stream, even though I"m not around as much as I used to be. It's always fun coming back here and seeing what's going on with you guys, and the AG without the Gator just isn't the same.

Well, it'll be up to you, but I'd rather not see you leave. >_<

A lot of cons have a no bootleg rule, but there really isn't enough staff to check all the dealer's merchandise to make sure everything is on the up and up.

Not that I'm advocating buying bootlegs or anything. Much as I would love to have the entire Reboot series on DVD, I don't know if I could buy a bootleg set.

Oh okay. *shrug* Well, with everything I saw at the con I went to, there was nothing bootleg. But at the same time, AD is a lot smaller than anything out in California, and probably on the east coast too. emo

From what I've seen, cons are pretty good at at least catching the bootleg anime DVDs and CDs, it's a bit harder on the other goods (artbooks, plushies, other toys.) Some staffers might have trouble with non-anime goods like US series on DVD though because that's something they know less about.

It also might depend what kind of merchandisers the particular con is able to get in their dealer's room. I've rarely seen people diving too much into the US cartoons at anime cons I go to (they branch out into loli fashion and game stuff more), but other more comic-y ones tend to have that. Actually, I've found more of that kind of thing going on at small cons when it's hard to fill the dealer's room, so kudos to AD for keeping it clean.

I sent people around regularly at my event and pretty much just found those really obvious bootleg posters or scrolls.
I can't imagine trying to monitor the dealer's room at a con like Otakon or Anime Expo.

Sellers who are obeying the rules will most certainly complain to staff as well since bootlegs will be seen as eating into their profits during the weekend. So that helps. Both Otakon and AX have industry presence too and they'll certainly say something. Back when the industry was stronger/richer, Bandai claimed they were doing some serious policing of this at cons. Sadly, there's always the problem of really being able to start legal/policing issues on a holiday weekend.

Another hard part is having enough people you can give authority to, even if they're not dealer's room staff per se, so that they can catch people in the act. Some unscrupulous dealers are really good at hiding it when a dealer's room staffer comes along.

A lot of us are trained to check on Thursdays and Mondays. xd

Though, for ADV and Geneon, many titles are nearly the same price in the bargain bin, always. It's sales like these that just highlight it (and cause some things to go out of stock.)

BTW, I got the shipping confirm on the weekly special... it's still showing 10% off... I guess all's that's left is examining my credit card bill. o.O

Well, originally I was going to go with the Fushigi Yuugi Eikoden thing and the Hellsing DVDs (not ultimate), but then I just went with Hellsing for now. Yay..I'm going to have that series again! There's a lot more I want, sure...but I don't want to spend every last dollar I got from federal on it. emo

I selected the two day shipping option..so that means if they send it out tomorrow, I'll get it Saturday most likely. Because I'm so close to Iowa, I usually get the two day shipping items in one (starting from the time they ship it out), so it's awesome. Minnesota is good for something!!!

This has not been my week gonk
When I'm not having bitchy women going after me, I'm having crazy misunderstandings/miscommunication/wrong impressions all over the place (several times, actually, though thankfully only one can be considered partly my fault, and even then at least it's a small part).

The sucky thing is that Zero and I would be having a great time this week if there weren't people causing drama about the most ridiculous things (minus the one instance, in which it was not necessarily ridiculous on the part of the person who was mad, but the person who started the whole thing... ) x__x

That bites. Hopefully it will die down soon... you could always just take a break too from the sources.

So, my insurance company is really confusing me... sweatdrop

When I renewed my policy in April, I owed about $256.00 (the first payment is always bigger than the rest). Then in May, I owed another $256.00. So then I thought that I would have my policy paid off in half the time. That's good.

So I go online to pay my auto insurance today. I'm a little late with my payment, but only by a few days. So I go to the payment page and look at the minimum amount due.

$8.56

I shook my head and rubbed my eyes, in case I was hallucinating. And I looked again.

$8.56

Not that I'm complaining. It means I have more money available to me this month than I thought. But still...it's kind of freaky.

For some of the issues, that's possible and I've managed to.
Others just kind of keep sneaking back somehow.
