The screen on the ship would flicker and then come on, showing a man inverted, hanging onto the ship. Even in this position, Menos managed to glance at the camera and give it an evil grin...shortly followed by using the free and and extending the middle finger of the hand outward.

It was natural to have a defense system on a ship as big as this, Menos was expecting it. Thats okay though, because he was itching for some action. Turning his attention back to the ship, his own being would take on a darkish tint, as if his own shadow was swallowing him. His being would then "melt" onto the ship, leaving only a shadow on the ship, which soon moved accross it at a quick rate.

Eli would reach dry land and take a look around. As hard as it may try, Eli could not figure out why such a large force was summoned here. Latent of all places... There was nothing to gain, other than a few moments of mindless slaughter.

Spilling the blood of the innocents was always Eli's favorite pass time, but in this case, it looked there were more undead casualties than mortals. What a waste, a shameful, meaningless waste.

Ssssssss.

A drop of holy water would land on its shoulder, creating a visible scorch mark. Eli would examine the wound for a brief moment. Where did it come from? Were the skies somehow "raining" this stuff?

SssssSssssSsssSsss!

More and more drops would make contact with Eli's skin. Although the water was not necessarily painful, it was more of an itching sensation. This stuff was annoying as hell.

The purple haze thickened to the point where the water would no longer be touching Eli. Instead it would evaporate through some supernature reaction with the haze itself. In a matter of seconds, the speckled pattern of "burns" that appeared on its skin would fade away.

The creature didn't plan to stay in this realm for long, as it tended to lose interest quickly. However, before it went back home, Eli figured it'd cause some pain and suffering.

Now, to find some "playmates"...

((Taking in a bunch of all the other posts...))

BOOM!

There was only one person present on the ship's deck as it rocked against the sudden spontaneous burst of cannonfire, probably the captain of the ship. Now, the captain seemed to not have much interest in the town, as he seemed to be busy looking in te direction of the stadium just a little ways northwards. In fact, he wasnt just casually glancing in that direction, he was focussed on it, spyglass to one eye as he peered through it, staring at the path which connected the stadium to the town.

And through the spyglass, the captain of the pirate ship viewed something which made his lips crack into a smile; dust. And with it, a motorcycle with someone on it. He took a moment to run through a list of names in his head of the competitors of the Heaven or Hell tournament which had just ended knowing that many of the competitors would have been at the arena, whether they were fighting in the finals, or had lost and were simply watching.

"Kyonuske." he hissed quietly as he put a name to the face, one of the members of the the winning team of the tournament. And upon closer inspection, there was another with him. But of course, he did not care about the second one, only remembering the fact that there was someone else.

"It takes a single hero to step forward in a sea of cowards, to change the tides of battle..." he mused to himself, as there seemed to be only one person heading to the rescue of the town. He knew that due to the Heaven or Hell tournament, there would be many accomplished warriors there, and to his disappointment, none had come to help the town that was conveniently right next to the arena. Guess no matter how great they claimed to be, they'd tuck their tails between their legs and run away before any sign of trouble found its way towards them.

"Let's see if this holds true." the captain finished his musings as he stepped back and hopped into the open hole on the deck into the dark hold below.

BOOM!

A final volley fired, tearing into the surrounding port as the ship began to move, anchor rising from the sea and cannons returning to the interior of the ship as it began to move forward by an unseen wind. What poisonous gasses which would drift in that direction would seem to have no effect on the ship, as it's own wind, probably magical in form, would push the ship and gasses into the town while dispersing the immediate gasses around it. At the same time, it began to rain, water pittering all over the empty deck of the pirate vessel, Jolly Roger waving in the wind even when soaked.

And not long after the pirate ship began to move forward, there would appeared a rising pillar of flames behind it, rising from the sea, and a few moment later, flames exploded, sending a great wave in all directions as it only served to push the pirate ship even more forward. However, with this invisible gas cloud, one kilometer in diameter, being pushed to where the pirate ship originally was, in this case, not all that far from shore, something within cannon range, maybe two hundred meters? (Guessing there.) The methane in the cloud would ignite from the firey explosion and of course, create a burning wave above the sea and into town just like the water below it. As the cloud was quite large, it would no doubt set a portion of the town into a blazing inferno.

The ship would speed towards the shore with the wave, and then crash right into it. The ship, which was heading straight towards the location of the deathknight, but more importantly, Vahn as well, would splinter the wooden docks and shovel up the sandy shore as it would slam right into the area.

((I'm not sure, but I think methane rises(?) so the resulting wave of fire from the explosion by Dash wouldnt happen. But I'm just going to way its held there by magic or something since the slug obviously isnt natural to begin with anyways. But it methane doesnt rise, then theres still a blaze which engulfs the town anyways.

The ship of course, with its magical wind, doesnt have any of the gas close to it.))

Sunstrike
s**t... Is what Sun thought when he saw the feet coming towards his face...

s**t!!! When he saw the bike come too.

His wings, which had been giving him that lift to glide quickly into the Knight, snapped shut, so he fell just short of the being, getting clipped in the jaw by a foot, but missing the bloody great piece of metal that came in.

He hit the dirt and threw himself out of the way.

For the road slowly fell down the last hundred metres before the docks, Lucind saw Vahn's and Sun's encounter with that unknown creature. A little unsure what to do she guided the mare a little closer - the animal had became more and more nervous for she was forced to defy its instinct to flee any danger. Therefore, Lucind had no other option than 'soothing' the horse with a low dosed
About Sirens

brou wa = mood melodies; transfer a certain mood onto the listener: fear (ulh brou wah), joy (gae brou wah), bliss (enhen brou wah), fury (ta'ar brou wah), love (liev brou wah), etc.

The sudden movement of the pirate ship distracted the Half-Siren and with growing horror she watched it riding the wave, obviously aiming at the spot where the fight between those three took place.

The mare under her wasn't yet hypnotized enough, pranced from one side to the other - and shied away when flames exploded astern around the ship. Lucind herself jumped when finally the flaming cloud became alive, washing through the air and over the southern part of the town.
Not only she was aghast and could imagine the rising panic within Latent but the fire being so close made her own innate aversion to this element rising in her stomach like a wave of sickness. The rain, though, should come in handy... ((I suppose it's raining everywhere around the docks? Or only over the ship?))

Maybe it turned out to be stupid, but she wasn't keen on just watching the ship crashing into the docks, right where her friends were. Urging the horse to dash on once more, Lucind increased her hypnotic power over the mare and thus feeling her relax, almost taking the last bit of the animal's own will.

Darting forwards, the woman called out Sunstrike's name. She had the chance to quickly bring him into some distance from the spot he was just standing on - before the nearing ship crashed into it. But if he had other plans in mind and didn't see the horse heading towards him, it might lead to an unpleasant clash. So Lucind used her whisper-technique to make sure the man was aware of her coming.

((Btw, I don't think Evan and Vahn/Sun could've met cause we were on the road between stadium and docks and Evan on the one connecting Durem and Latent - so I suppose Evan is heading towards the Northern Gate where the undead and zombies are. Or..??))

Vahn Kyonuske
Ah, that didn't work.

The bike went grinding by, sparks flying as metal was warped.

Twisting his grip on the Fang, he began digging the blade into the ground itself, forcing himself to a sudden halt. Yellowed eyes stared up towards the airborne knight, his back turned to Vahn.

"--NNGH!"

Tightening the grip of his thighs on the harley, he would put those fabulous leg muscles of his to work. Using the dug in Fang for vaulting support, he physically twisted his entire body around, so he could toss the ruined bike up and towards the knight, releasing his legs.

With the back end and exhaust damaged and leaking fuel, it wouldn't take long for a flame to spark it and explode the entire thing; into the Knight's back no less.

He knew Sunstrike could more than readily handle himself, especially since he would have perfect view of what Vahn was doing, and the Knight wouldn't.

OOC: M'kay, I'm not contesting the move, nor trying to avoid it, just because of the nature of the flip I see the bike catching him in the torso. Sorta, he's gone past the apex (since he kicked Sun) and is starting to make his descent when he hits the bike and goes flying.

Also, sorry about taking so long to post, by the time I stopped playing PSP, Sunstrike was gone and it was basically time for me to go to bed.

IC: The Knight had already ridden one explosion this fine evening, and another would hardly bother him at all. The nature of the flowmetal armour was, the harder the impact, the greater the resistance. Now, in a case like this, the explosion still forced the Knight into the air, but it didn't hurt as much as it should have, and it certainly didn't blow him to bits.

He would've felt the burning effects across his brow, had the unnatural protection not formed around his skull, offering him a small safety as he went up up and up into the air. Sword still in hand, he'd bust out another flip to cancel the increase in height, and come back down to earth, the voice of another interference ringing in his ears as the flowmetal left his face and feet came into contact with the pavement.

Sunstrike and Vahn would be in front of him, Lucind somewhere to his back.

He didn't know what was going on with the ship, but he chose to ignore it for now.

@Shou: I guess Lu's also in front of you, though still bit farer away - if she came from the direction as Vahn and Sun did and she can see what's going on with the ship.

Darshendros watched the scene from the floating images, watching the holy water rain falling from an airship that had suddenly entered the fray, his undead hordes falling. Only the golems would remain, since they were neither alive, dead, or undead, but simply constructs. The rain would affect them as much as any other magical attack would - nil.

"Report," he spoke, sending his message through the scrying window, to one of the necromancers left behind to control the hordes.

An airship, my lord, which seems to be making the skies rain with holy water. Our forces have been utterly destroyed, except the golems.

"And the samples?"

We have a fair number of corpses, my lord. Shall we reanimate them to join the battle?

"No. Bring them back here. Our job is finished. Execute the final act and I'll have a Gate opened for you to return through."

Darshendros swiped his hand through the floating image, dismissing it and standing from his seat. Walking over to a bookcase, he ran his fingers along the bindings until finding one particular, pulling it back and opening a secret passageway.

* * *

The three remaining necromancers, without any hordes to control, cast what offensive spells they had remaining. A portal blinked into existence behind them, with skeletal warriors coming through to grab the corpses piled up behind the mages and take them back through. Unfortunately, for the necromancers, the portal closed after the last body was taken, before they could go through as well. The Dragon does not tolerate failure.

Fireballs and magic missiles rained from the skies, sizzling in the holy rain as they came arcing through the air to smash into more buildings and spread more destruction. The golems would be left on their own, to destroy or likely be destroyed. The three necromancers, discovering their predicament, fled through the forest as fast as they could.

((Hope you don't mind if I take a chunk out of one of the necromancers))

Greeneyes reached the gates of Latent just as the three necromancers were fleeing into the forest. One of the necromancers would be rather surprised to find himself bit by a green-eyed mosquito. He would be even more surprised to find a strange woman with bladed appendages protruding from her back standing next to him a moment later. She let the man run; she had gotten what she needed from him.

She made her way into the city, following in the wake of a motorcycle. The front lines had been here but a moment before; it seemed the army was retreating. Or had been destroyed. One way or the other, it seemed she was too late.

She recognized Joseph Brown when she found him; she had done her research on Alpha through Epsilon before walking in through its front doors, and had naturally seen Joseph Brown's picture several times. She stood before him, and the man with the motorcycle, and inclined her head slightly.

"Jospeh Brown? My name is Greeneyes. I have come here to assist you, but it seems I have arrived later than I'd hoped."

(( Damn... owned...

...just tossing out something that occured to me at the bus stop. ))

The airship continued circling the city slowly, a few hundred feet below the cloud cover now, though still over a vertical mile up. Above them, the sanctified cloud, saturated with the salt dumped into the air to lower the condensation point of the water, would continue falling in millions of tiny pieces to the earth below.

The salt water fell from the sky, like tears from heaven, baptizing the city in its waters and soaking the earth with the power of faith. Even after the rains stopped Latent would be, for many months afterwards, holy ground.

"--TCH!!"

The entire dockside moved, several of the floatilla's breaking apart; the pirate ship crashing ashore.

Yellowed eyes widened even, as he held his ground. His left hand remained gripping the handle of his Fang, still stabbed into the ground. The shattering blocks of wood and other debris, came flying outwards along with the waves of water.

What...the hell?!!

He watched as a column of flames shot from the ocean and in turned sent a wave of fire from above as well, threatning to flood Latent from both above and below; hot & cold.

Raising his right hand, the bloodred wristlet began shifting, ashen metal enveloping his entire right forearm. The stabbing sensation spread, as hundreds of miniscule needles jabbed into his flesh.

"WHAT THE ******** IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?!!!"

His voice tore out of his throat, even as the center 'ruby' on the gauntlet that took form began turning a deep hue of crimson.

A great vacuum started up, originating from that centerpiece, which began drawing in all the flames from above, the water rushung forward turned into nothing but steam as it struck against the sphereical shape the atmosphere warped into around him.

The veins on his neck stood out, and the tension on his body was felt, even as he held his right hand up high.

He was eating all the fire.

Somehow, a drop of water had wriggled it's way down into the sewer to hit KB right on the cheek. Wincing, he had to bite his lip to keep from swearing, as it sizzled his flesh. SOMEHOW holy water was leaking down onto the city from above, and a drop of it had found it's way onto him. His usual regenerative abilities did nothing to heal the small burn mark on his cheek, and he felt it begin to itch and burn. "Damnit" He muttered as he continued to walk along the ceiling of the tunnel, following the slug. Some people were just hella impolite.

The slug slithered, as all slugs tend to do, wether it slithered away or slithered closer didn't really matter, it was only interested in finding food. But it was no longer interested in ordinary filth. It wanted cursed items, cursed flesh, everything and anything that humanity had sullied with an evil touch, anything that was endowed with sin, or hate, and shame. It absorbed murder victims that had been dumped and never found, it absorbed waste from abortion clinics, it absorbed the bones of lost children, it absorbed heroin needles, it absorbed pills, it absorbed the discarded weapons of the criminal element, it absorbed purposly discarded wedding rings, it absorbed all manner of written propaganda from advertisements, it absorbed ciggarette ends, and it absorbed the lies and misguided idealism of corrupt political pamphlets. Discarding the ordinary filth, it became a concentrated ball of the most vile, despicable, evil traits of humanity. Oh, if it had only found the sewers of Durem, what a feast that would have been to behold.

It released a bellowing wail that shook the entire sewer, the sound would be released from all the sewer openings in latent. Then it continued the song. It welled up from sinks, bubbled from toilets, from drains and shower plugs. It was a wail that peirced the mind and filled it with despair. Across Latent, scores of people would be driven mad upon hearing it, their minds fried by the unfettered voice of humanity's sins, that is, if they hadn't commited suicide first.

"Well," He took of the rain streaked sunglasses and looked at the bladed woman, "Aren't I the popular one these days. The assistance is really apreciated..."

Cue blood curtiling scream. Joseph like any sane person would do, cover his ears and yell as loud as he could right back.

"AAAAAaaahhhhellwasthat?" Was about all that came out. Ok, after he double checked it was over, a small motel minibar sized bottle of vodka came out as well. He stole it on the drive here.

After a scream like that he needed to calm his nerves.

"Anyway," He tossed the bottle to the side, "We'll have to do a formal introduction later. Right now we need to come up with some sort of way to secure the town. I say we either mop up these necro-dudes or go towards that giant pillar of fire."

"Leaning towards option one."

He cursed under his breath and pressed a hand to the mosquito bite, scratching the irritating itch. The man continued running, leaving the sounds of battle behind him. He managed to put a couple of miles between himself and the city, before being attacked by a denizen of the forest. With the undead presence gone, the animals had all started returning, and the predatorial ones were quite hungry.
