You must be on the east coast like me, Kiri, may I ask where? Southern Jersey here.
That kind of weather sounds like when I used to live in North Carolina, it was normal for every house to have air conditioners. When I moved to Cali, I'm like "o_o Where's the air conditioner...?" I didn't realize there were different types of heat... and in Cali, you get a lot of dry heat, so all you have to do is go inside or go under a tree to cool off.

we only have aircon downstairs in my mum's office ever the water's warm from the shower
although I have a nice garden outside my window so it keeps my mind off the weather

Oh my goodness! My neice is combing my hair... I can't really brush my hair when it's dry because it frizzes out like a fro xD; I can see that I'm going to have to wash my hair tomorrow...

@ Manda: Nope, not east coast, the midwest. ;D I live in an area where the seasons show pretty variable weather throughout the year. So in winter, it gets pretty cold, and summers, very hot.
