He takes off to the northwest, like he should.
"Say, is anyone else needing to stretch?" he asks. "How about a race to the border?!"

My eyes shine with mirth for the first time in awhile. "You're on!" I take to the air. "Are you joining in Fi'hai?"

"I suppose I could..." I say teasingly before I suddenly use my ring to dive my into the ground. Using my ring's aura detection, I navigate my way to the barrier with utmost haste.

Atlanta:
"Coming!" Fi'hai barks happily.
He lights himself up and takes flight. Mihi'o jumps up and grabs your right "hand" before you get too high.
"You're not leaving ME behind!" she says playfully.
You're surprised at her playful tone.
Moriah:
"Hey now!" Mashai'i calls. "Wait for me!"
He, too, dives into the ground and tunnels after you. Nashai'o is clinging to him tightly.
Everyone:
Laci and Jima'ei hover just above the ground and use the wind to move, but this also propels Atlanta and Fi'hai. Hahai'i follows after, using the moisture from the air to create a wave of water to ride. Manra and Shitai'ei are hoisted onto Rai'o's shoulders. Rai'o takes off at a earthshaking run. Lasai'ei takes off at an impressive speed of his own, though not likely a match for the fliers or tunnelers. He does appear to be able to take on Rai'o and Hahai'i, though.

Pressing forward as fast as I can, an idea strikes me. If I have an earth control ring, why not get a tactical advantage? trying to to redirect too much effort, I make a small thump in the ground. It was never against the rules after all!

Manra smiled as Rai'o supported her and Shitai'ei, as she kept one arm wrapped around Rai'o and another on Shitai'ei as to keep her with them.

As you do so, you glance off of a large rock, knocking you very off-course.
Manra:
A thump in the ground knocks Rai'o off-balance. Before you know it, he's tumbling to the ground, and you and Shitai'ei go flying, landing hard on the earth just outside of a forest. Rai'o is several feet back, lying on the ground as though out cold.
Atlanta:
You easily take the lead (assuming Moriah and Mashai'i aren't ahead of you beneath all of that dirt...). Mihi'o actually seems to be enjoying the ride.

I move myself back on course. I being to assume that /atlanta is the likely winner of thsi race, thanks to her ability to fly without magical assistance. Of course, it doesn't mean I can give up just yet...
