You walk through the dark, shadowed forest. In the middle of a clearing, with one single ray of light centered on it, is a mirror. What do you see when you look at it?
I see my reflection - I see who I really am inside.
I see who I have become - all my past efforts and endeavors roll before my eyes.
I see potential - the future, with all its possibilties, becomes clear to me.
I see my inner demons. I recognize them, so that I may conquer them.
I see darkness; the mirror is not a mirror, but a window to my soul.
I see someone else - the mirror is not a mirror, but a window, showing me my heart's true desire.
I refuse to examine the mirror. It is an illusion - I do not need it to tell me what I already know.

((Bad effort, Zack. I know it's you. Boo.))

Myrrelda glanced around at first, reflexively, as if she would actually catch a glimpse of Mammon. But then her wits returned to her, and she began to wear a wicked smile. "Nice to hear from you... sir," she replied, causing Perrault to go out of his mind with confusion. Before he could even begin to ask her what she was talking about, Myrrelda gave the elf a quick shake. Since he was hanging upside-down by his foot, now, this was bound to be unpleasant.

"You can look but you can't touch. Unless you know.. someplace we can't be found." Her tone cleared, however. Mammon? She doubted he was interested in that portion of her. "Any how... to what do I owe this pleasure of yours?"

They never said Myrrelda was humble.

The structure--floating in the air--was coming up quickly, now. It was a small contraption, floating by unknown means. One thing Perrault would notice, was that they were no longer above the sands.

He might also notice the dark skies above.

"Aye," agreed Jaeto. He seemed to be coming down with a bout of motion sickness, likely thanks to the jumping around and fighting earlier.

Hashmal muttered an obscene comment about Jaeto's queasiness that Jaeto attempted to ignore.

((I swear to God that's not me. I don't ever wear shorts, even on a blazing summer day. And that's not the Yuke I wanna dress up as, either.))

Perrault's now-upside-down face was twisted with confusion.

"Mother- I mean, Myrrelda... Are you talking to me...?"

-----

"Hehe, don't worry." said Mammon's voice, "I'm not here for Bella's sloppy seconds. I'm here to drag the little half-pint back home. While I'm at it, I might as well come to get you, too. Bella must be worried sick about you."

Then there was a high-pitched cackle that couldn't possible have been Mammon's...

"I'm watching you, wench." he said, "Every minute of every hour of every day. You'll never be alone, not for a split second. Hehe... Half-pint's sharing the same fate with you. You two are made for each other... He hates you, and you love him. Opposites attract, right? You and your sick little games... You're a very bad girl. Bad girls get to go to Hell."

"Here's a little something for the road, wench. I'll be seeing your pretty little face in the flesh soon enough."

The cackling that wasn't Mammon's came again, and then stopped. There was silence, and then...

At that second, The sky became riddled with lightning bolts, striking everywhere around the demon and the elf, but nowhere else. Anyone watching this moving storm from afar would probably be scared out of their mind.

((We have to be related somehow. Blood-brother.))

Suddenly, Perrault found himself upright and pulled into a hugging embrace that would probably cause most men to bulge in a certain place. She was... protecting the silly little elf from the lightning, presumably. Whatever Myrrelda felt for this little meat-bag was not known, but it was clear she did not appreciate the 'gift.'

"...See you soon," Myrrelda muttered blankly. Then they were in the floating structure, which was barely a room with all four sides open without windows to a long, long fall below. The walls were golden (the walls being simply pillars in all of four corners) and the floor was pure-white. The ceiling, as it existed, was a simple canopy of silver above them, supported by the four pillars on this--basically a platform--that floated by no discernible means. Magic, obviously.

Or--was it?

Myrrelda set Perrault down without emotion and walked to the very edge of the platform, which was about sixteen feet by sixteen feet in a perfect square, staring out at the landscape below.

But this was impossible. The two were in... Baelta.

((Brother hug? 3nodding *opens arms*))

Perrault looked around. This place was amazing, with technology he never even imagined.

"Myrrelda, where are we..." he asked as he looked down the edge as well.

Below them was the very same spot where his mountain home used to be... before the Ganzi crushed it with his Tor Borot spell. He recognized those mountain ranges like he did his own face.

"B... Baelta...?" he whimpered, "What...?"

((Let me dress up in my cosplay.

...

OK. I'm Ridley. Let's have a hug.))

"Hell if I know," Myrrelda answered with seeming disinterest. She was actually scoping out the terrain, rather than admiring the scenery. And no, Perrault was wrong. They were not directly above the area he used to traverse. They were directly above a place he, nor most humans, had never been to. Though from how high up they were, one might gain the impression that they were above just about any spot in Baelta.

But why weren't they being incinerated by the Storm? It wasn't below them, and above, the dark gray, overcast skies were ominous, but... not life-threatening.

And let's not speak of how the two must have gotten here, of all places.
