Whysperwind

As he walked towards the nearest coffee shop for a Latte, he once again passed the strange man and the younger looking boy. Now birds aren't known for there sense of smell but rather for their sensing of things that aren't what they seem.

[[ Birds of prey and scavengers had a highly developed sense of smell. And a hummingbird guides itself by smell to its favorite flowers, so leave my post alone.]]

He was in shock. The incredibly flamboyant pre-teen was dressed in such a peculiar way, he forgot to monitor his animalian habits and cocked his head to the side to get a better look. Very Christmasy, and "sexy" was just killing him.
"My name is Roux," he finally managed to say, shifting his eyes toward the golden boy for a moment.
"The nearest coffee shop is over there," he said, pointing again. Sniffing deeply but blending it into a sigh for subtlety, Roux recognized the light flavor.
The raptor was not pleased with the way the other called attention to himself. An observant professional- like the so many that were obsessed with proving the existence of werewolves and the like- would be alerted and start watching. Seeing the boy reminded him to put on his sunglasses. Many mistook his golden eyes for honey-brown but some were too curious for their own good. The glasses were wrap-arounds, covering his eyes at the edges too.

((Shin would be so freaking embarrassed if he heard that. And I can go ahead and post, I guess, but it won't be anything wonderful since he's just waiting.... And Haro did ask to go visit Shin's mom in the hospital, right? 8D;;; *forgot* It's been sooooo long ago. x3;;;; ))

Haro had skirted upstairs to change, leaving a quite heavily flushed Shin on the couch. He felt as if his heart was going to burst out of his chest -- it was just beating so... so rapidly. Had he heard what Haro had been murmuring to his supposed "mentor" then the dark-haired teen would have been all the more embarrassed -- fortunately, however, he had no idea of what passed between the two.

Still, though, despite the flush there was a rather pleased smile on the tiger's lips -- he appeared to have a quiet, flushed sort of excitement and happiness about himself. They were going on a date -- and Haro had asked him. He had taken the boy shopping before, but... but that had been before they had really been 'together.' And it had really only been in order to get clothes for the boy.... This was different -- it was an actual date. And even though a visit to the hospital wasn't the most promising beginning for a date, he would... he would finally be able to see his mother again! As far as he knew, she was likely still comatose and although that in and of itself was extremely depressing, he would... he would at least be able to see her. That was something.

And so Shin readied himself, pulling on hat, coat, gloves, socks, shoes and the other various miscellanious items to keep himself warm. All that was left was Haro -- and a decision as to where they would first be headed -- and they would be off. Shin hadn't driven in a while, but if they were going into the city (particularly at such temperatures) then they would need to take the car....

Sebastien, for his part, did his best not to giggle at the sight of the newly arrived boy -- and there was something about this one, too, that was different from most people, though it was mostly just his subconscious that noticed this difference. Pale eyes glanced back and forth between the two, attentive hues picking out the small lines of animosity that Roux had begun to direct towards the youngest of the three. Sebastion was in that way perceptive -- in his fine attention for detail.

"I'm Sebastien, nice to meet you, Roux," the blonde replied brightly, one pale hand raising slightly nervously to tuck a lock of golden hair behind his ear. There was something between the two that made him feel oddly uneasy -- some sort of negative dynamic that put him on edge. He hadn't felt that way before this younger boy had arrived.

In other ways, however, Sebastien was incredibly blind -- literally. He had failed to notice the odd color of Roux's eyes -- he could tell that they were bright, but the specific color was incredibly difficult for him to discern due to his species.

"Sebastien.. I like it. Beautiful." He smiled broadly, but his eyes were on the other boy. He hadn't turned his head in the boy's direction, only his eyes. Thanks to the- incredibly expensive- one-way-mirror material his sunglasses were made of, his eyes were completely hidden. There was no way to see what he was looking at. Custom glasses were worth the unbelievable price.

So maybe Ea didn't know Wei all that well. He'd seen the man angry, certainly -- like when he had accidentally brought up the topic of the man's former, and apparently unrequited, love -- but this was a different sort of anger. A cold chill passed through the teen -- one that greatly overshadowed the coldness he had been feeling towards the dark-haired man. Black eyes hand widened and he had shrunk back slightly, gaze unable to meet the other's.

At the mention of getting anything from the room, the pale-haired teen quickly shook his head, dark eyes downcast. His cheeks burned the heavy crimson-red of shame -- shame at his own incredibly illogical jealousy for, now he realised, he had been quite... jealous, or at least angry, when he saw the cat attack Wei like that.

"N-No, Wei...." the teen began meekly, "I don't need to... get anything." He looked uncharicteristically pitiful like that -- head down, eyes averted, hands clasped nervously behind his back as the bright flush brightened across his features.
[[Wei isn't exactly rainbows and kittens, nor is he intensely charming every second and it's high time Ea knew that. :C]]

"Then what the hell do you want?" He asked, sounding incredibly exasperated due to several reasons. Although, somewhere deep down, the snake would've loved to have said, 'You know what, that sounded really harsh and I didn't mean it,' but he did. He was pissed off at Chang, he was pissed at Ea for leaving him, and even more so he was pissed at the mongoose for making him feel so damn crazy.

[[Yeah, Haro was like, 'I want to meet your family. ^w^' and Shin was like, "D:" So Haro was like, "We...can...go see your mom? ._. -pout of doom-" Shin couldn't resist the pout o' doom?? XD]]

Bright eyes cast one more look at Sparrow who looked increasingly depressed, but the bird decided that the older one was just tired. Tiptoeing downstairs, Haro breathed in a shaky breath as he watched Shin pull on a hat, a bright flush dusting his cheeks with a solid pink color. It was almost like...like he was peeping in on something he shouldn't with the way he was so intensely staring at the cat; however, the little bird was merely watching Shin put on his winter attire. Attempting to sneak up on the tiger, which would be slightly easier since he was in a human state, the bird rushed forward, locking arms around Shin's waist with a laugh. "Got you~"

But anyone who knew Ea at all well would know that he could only stay meek for so long -- probably a span of perhaps five seconds or so. Black eyes hardened and a steady scowl formed on the teen's lips, his cheeks bruning a bright pink. "N-nothing! I just... I was just jealous, okay?!" the teen replied rather forcibly. He looked rather embarrassed at having admitted it, but he was too straight forward a person not to admit it when it was bothering him so much.

Expression set, the ivory-haired teen continued. "It-- it pissed me off to see some little ******** hanging off you like that, alright?!" Of course, he wasn't really mad at the moment, he was just putting up a front so... so he wouldn't look as pathetic as he knew he was being.

Black eyes glanced up at the man for a moment, the scowl befitting his features quite perfectly. "A-anyway... I need to go shopping, so... so if you're coming then get on with it."

**

Shin had been quite preocupied with his thoughts -- so much that, for several moments, he did not notice the other. However, the sound of feet scurrying quietly across the floor was a bit too obvious for him to miss. Shin turned, bright blue eyes fixing on the teen just as small, pale arms closed around his waist. His lips curved upwards, a light smile on his lips as he raised on pale, refined hand to lay a hand on the crown of the other's head.

"Eheh... yeah, Haro, you got me...." he murmured, a small laugh slipping from between his lips. The teen looked more than pleasant like that -- a bright, but gentle, smile playing upon his lips under a slightly messy mass of dark hair, the hat pulled down over his head.

"Ehh... thanks," the boy mumbled, a small slightly disconcerted flush on his cheeks. It was... odd. With those apparently one-way glasses on, he couldn't tell who the man was looking at. "A-anyway," he began, trying to get back on track though that warm feeling from before had been, quite decidedly, lost ever since he noticed the coldness with which Roux addressed the new boy. "We're going to go... uhm, go get something at the coffee shop, right? We should go before we block too much traffic..." he murmured, gesturing discretely at the people who were having to hustle past them, all of them looking distinctly worn and grumbly.

"Why thank you for your kindness." Kaya said gently as he cast his mismatched eyes across the two before him. His amber left eye and his violet right didn't seem to match up properly, but they both had a darker undertone from the solid liquid black they became in his half anthro form. He still couldn't quite place what made them seem so different from the average joes he passed all the time but that was ok. He didn't care as long as they didn't want to cause him any harm. He'd had enough of that from Krow.

"I apologize for interrupting your conversation. I'll be on my way now." the fourteen year old said as he straightened up a bit and shook his head against the cold. As he turned to walk away, his hair ruffled once more, this time against his will. Birds aren't exactly well adapted to the colder months, even the ones that don't migrate tend to prefer warmer weather.

He walked off then, for the coffee shop that he had been pointed towards.

((I apologize. I haven't studied animals severely, but my character is a Raven, not a bird of prey nor a hummingbird. So leave that comment about not being known for it's sense of smell be. I didn't mean all birds, just his species, although, in hindsight, I could have made that clearer.))

[[Omgaaaawww-- Ferrr real?? Oh god, I'm so tired for some reason. I don't know if I'll crank out two replies or not, I'm sorry if I don't. x_x]]

Haro grinned, his face upturned. He looked exceedingly happy probably because he had never successfully sneaked up on Shin before, although it wasn't a true success, the tiger had noticed a few moments before he had actually grasped hold of him...but it was so close that it felt like a victory for the little lovebird. He was also happy because he had never been on a date before and they...they seemed like fun and Haro knew he would have a good time either way because he'd be with Shin. With an almost bashful hesitancy to him, Haro looked, "Are you ready?" He asked with a smile, fidgeting nervously in the tiger's arms.

A devious grin broke out upon the snake's features. "I never took you as being the jealous type. Don't worry I don't really cheat, I've never had enough lasting relationships to do so but I don't think I'll start now anyway," he explained, his grin only intensifying as Ea's scowl deepened. "I also wouldn't worry your cute little head over Chang. If his brother wasn't--" Wei looked almost stunned for a moment. Yes, Vi was...well Chang and Vi were relatively attractive but even if they did look frighteningly similar the cat's attitude ruined the image for Wei, where as Vi...well, the rabbit was much easier to tolerate. And yet he wouldn't be mentioning how hot he thought the raven haired rabbit was in front of Ea anytime soon. "--wasn't my friend I'd gut him, but alas...his twin might kill me if I tried."

Wei just laughed as he locked the door, green eyes narrowing a bit. Although he was somewhat flattered that Ea was getting jealous...it concerned him. They hated eachother right? And, sure the sex was good...but they hated eachother, or at least they grated on eachother's nerves easily... Why was Ea so jealous? Wei huffed out a sigh, he'd tease the mongoose about it later, much later, later when they were in bed and the mongoose was writhing and-- The snake had to stop his train of thought right there lest he kept Ea from his shopping for the rest of the day.

Not bothering for subtlety, Roux watched the flashy boy leave. His eyebrows hiked up a bit. Visibly displeased, he sniffed abruptly and his lip curled a little in distaste.
But the tension left- he took a deep breath and sighed, releasing the guarded hostility and annoyance. He should not have been so mean or so suspicious, but he trusted his instincts.
He tried to smile like he had before, achieving a little of that. "Lets go, mm?" He grinned evilly at a woman who gave them a particularly interested look, her eyebrow was even raised. "I guess we are in the way."
PostPosted: Wed Dec 05, 2007 7:35 pm

((It's because, deep down inside, Ea is really a very possessive little b*****d. He hordes them and once he's got them, they're "his." That includes Wei, even tho Ea hasn't really realised it yet. xD;;;;; It could be passed off as animal instinct or just... my desire to make Ea even more of a selfish b***hb*****d. 8D;; ))

"Sh-shut up," the teen muttered, both the scowl and his flush deepening as the older male teased him. "Don't get me wrong or anything cuz I ******** hate you half the time, but I like ******** you too much not to get pissed when I see someone else hanging off you 'cuz it makes me feel like a third wheele," the teen grumbled. The truth was, though, he was just making up excuses -- any excuse to keep Wei from thinking that he really liked the man. That was the last thing he wanted because it was just too embarrassing -- even more embarrassing than admitting that he had been jealous.

However, black eyes narrowed at the other's pause. He knew Wei well enough to at least know that when the man paused about something, he was thinking -- and because he so obviously avoided saying his thoughts, it was probably something he didn't want Ea to know. Something like he thought Chang's brother was hot and wouldn't mind screwing him more than a couple times a day. Unfortunately, the little mongoose could be quite perseptive at the most inconvenient of times.

"Right...." the teen muttered rather grudgingly, though he still looked rather mistrustful. It wasn't as if he was... dating Wei -- but he still didn't like seeing the man with someone else. "Anyway," the teen said slowly, his dark eyes calculating. "You'd be jealous, too, if you saw some really hot guy hitting on me, right? Or at least, you'd be pissed. So I don't think you can tease me....." the teen muttered slightly skeptically.

One last glance up towards the man before he turned. "We should get going. Liao's waiting."

**

He ruffled the boy's hair gently, his hand resting lightly against the other's bright, silky locks, a rather pleased smile on the teen's lips. Shin flushed and nodded, looking slightly childishly eager. "Y-yeah," he murmured, looking quite happy. "Where do you want to go first?" he asked, his hand shifting from the other's head to his shoulder. He gave the boy a small, gentle squeeze -- he was just too excited, which was rather obvious though he displayed hiw enthusiasm quietly, not to do so. Had his ears and tail been out, the latter would have been twitching in eager expectation.

Pale hands raised, slender fingers pushing back locked of perfectly straight blonde hair behind his ears. The hostility in this man had cleared the moment the boy left, but there was still something that left Sebastien a bit uneasy. A small, slightly nervous smile twitched onto his lips -- he was sure that it would soon be replaced by a real one, though, as it was always easy for him to find some way to occupy his attention.

"E-eeh, yeah..." he mumbled, cheeks slightly flushed from both the cold as well as his own bit of nervousness. "Lead the way," he chirped, doing his best to recover his smile -- which he succeeded in far more than Roux had. it had always been easy for Sebastien to smile.
PostPosted: Wed Dec 05, 2007 7:56 pm

Much happier, he started towards the coffee shop, moving slower than normal to keep stride with Sebastien. "So what book are you reading?" It was a decent walk, and not making conversation was just bizarre when you were trying to get to know someone. It was louder than he would have liked, but not impossible

Pale digits fingered the book's pages, though Sebastien's every movement was careful when it came to the large text. "It's a new book in a series I've been reading about various legends come to life! This one's the best -- it's a retelling of the story of Atlantis, though, of course, in novel form.... I haven't read all of it yet -- just the previews that were given as teasers -- but it should be really good. All the reviewers are just raving about it," the boy replied, a quite excited expression on his features. He ovbiously loved reading -- loved it so much that his entire being was brimming over with excitement.

Pale eyes glanced up towards the man, his smile now fully returned. "S-so.... what type of book do you like?" he questioned. To Sebastien, it was unimanginable that anyone could possibly not like books -- besides, Roux had exited the book store just before himself so he had to have at least some interest.
