"Well Mike since your not going to battle Wattson, I will." Mitsu replied, impatient. She turned her attention to the gym leader. "Leader Wattson I challenge you to a Gym Battle." She said, confidence rising in her voice. "Wahahah! I accept!"

The judge explained all the rules and whatnot. Both trainer and gym leader stepped onto the arena. "I choose you Voltorb!" Wattson said throwing out a Pokeball. Another Pokeball seemed to pop out of it. "Let's go Karri!" Mitsu called out.

Jaehsan ducked under a low-hanging branch, trying desperately to keep the Raticate within his sights. Nidorino was having a less difficult time navigating the foresty maze, thanks to his size. The human was drenched in sweat, and it stung his eyes as he continued on, breathing heavily.

It came as quite a shock when the Raticate disappeared under another branch (one that Jaeshan had to climb over) and it lead out into a sunny field. Mount Moon could still be seen in the distance, the elevation rising with every step. Jaeshan stretched his arms and legs, thankful to be able to stand upright again, and looked around the field. There were several what appeared to be, pinkish flying blobs in the sky, and on closer inspection, Jaeshan realized they were Hoppip, floating on a gentle breeze. A little further up, he could see two or three huddled around something, and he made his way over to investigate. The Hoppip greeted him with cheery cries, and the airborne ones did circles and loops in the sky. He realized the ones on the ground were playing with Bellsprout.

"So this is where you are," he chuckled, sitting down to finally relax.

"Sprout," Bellsprout replied, and came over to greet him. Nidorino sat down nearby, looking around intently. The Raticate was also next to Jaeshan, looking pleased with herself, and twitching her long whiskers.

"Thanks," he said to her, and she chittered once again in reply.

For about an hour or two, Jaeshan and his Pokemon (for both Mightyena and Butterfree had found them as well) stayed with the group of Hoppip, just enjoying the setting sun and also the gentle breeze the Pokemon loved so much.

Kasiya stepped into the treatment room, looking around nervously. The walls were painted a light blue, and covered with various charts and posters. There were also several machines in the room, a few incubation tanks and whatnot, alongside what appeared to be a machine used for weighing Pokemon. There were a few small beds in the room, much to small for adult humans to use, anyways, and only one of them had a patient in them. Kasiya made her way over to the bed quietly, and was relieved to see that her Pikachu's eyes were open, and she seemed quite alert.

"Hey Shocker," she said in a soft tone.

"Chu." The Pikachu turned away from her, various monitors and tubes hooked up to her small body. She had some bruises, cuts and scrapes, some of which had been bandaged, and her left leg was wrapped up completely. Kasiya forced back a tear, and put her hand gently on Shocker's head.

"I'm glad you're okay," she said, kneeling down.

"Pika." Shocker said, her tone sad.

"I'm sorry," the trainer said after a few moments of silence. "I shouldn't have let the battle go on like that. If I would have ended it sooner, you wouldn't have gotten hurt like this."

"Pikachu!" Shocker sat up slowly, shaking her head no. "Pika pi"

"Hey, it wasn't your fault," Kasiya said, standing up. "You were very brave. I had no idea a Dragonair was so difficult to take down. I always thought Ice type moves were the best way to fight them, but maybe not. Ariel's attacks didn't seem to do much, did they?" she said, thinking back to the battle.

"Kachu..." Shocker agreed.

"There's no use in pointing out who's fault what was," Kasiya said. "There's really only one thing we can do about this." Shocker twitched her ear, listening intently. "We're gonna have to get stronger," she said. "Train harder. Work harder. I'm sure there are trainers who are even stronger than Seth out there. If we don't get stronger, we won't be able to hold our own against them."

"Chu!" the Pikachu agreed. She stood up, holding her arms above her head, and stomping her little feet on the bed. After a few moments of confusion, Kasiya realized Shocker was mimicking a Raichu.

"I didn't mean you have to evolve," she said with a chuckle. "Evolution is a permanent thing. It's not like we can make you a Pikachu again, you know."

Shocker sat down again, her ears drooping a bit.

"And besides, you bested a Raichu! That's something to be proud of," Kasiya said, grinning. Shocker grinned back.

After finding no sign of her he left the building and calmly walked out to the same tree he had slept under. He tossed up Aero's Pokeball, releasing him. "Feeling better Aero?" Seth asked. The Dragonair gracefully circled around Seth then settled to the floor, it was a yes. "I'm glad." Seth spoke, then paused for a short moment. "I hope we didn't injury that Pikachu too much." Aero slowly nodded head in agreement, then stopped and spoke in it's own Pokemon language. "Yes, your right Aero. We can't back down or go easy on an opponent, it will be our downfall." Seth replied, but still felt bad. He hugs his Pokemon and, with some help from Aero, climbed onto a sturdy branch and the two contently watched the sunset.

Kasiya continued to uplift Shocker's spirit for a while, then let the Pikachu get some rest. She decided to go for a walk, and maybe get some shopping done before the stores closed for the evening. She ignored the loud rumbling in her stomach as she stepped through the sliding doors, Flash at her side. She started at a brisk pace, her hands in her pockets, and looking at the ground. She'd untied her hair, and it hung loosely down her back and shoulders. She glanced towards the setting sun, and sighed before continuing on her way.

(( EDIT: 2000th post!
It was getting dark. He retrieve Pokemon food for his Pokemon and ate an apple himself. Once they were content he looked up to the sky once more. "I can't wait to fly up there with you Aero and Charcoal." He sighed. He recalled his other Pokemon just in case Team Rocket were to visit. Fatigue settled in from the days battle and he dozed off, on the ground next to him was his Snorlax and the tree.

Jaeshan retreated back to the clearing where he met the Raticate so he could set up camp for the night. He made a small, yet satisfying dinner, which he shared with the rat Pokemon gratefully. They'd have wandered for a long time if she hadn't shown them the way to Bellsprout. Happy to have his team back together, he relaxed under the stars, Mightyena curled up by his side, and Nidorino and Butterfree talking in their own Pokemonic language. Bellsprout seemed to have made friends with the Raticate, which Jaeshan thought was a good thing, seeing as the little sprout couldn't seem to win the respect of the rest of the party. They settled in for a night's rest, then would continue on to the training spot tomorrrow morning.

Browsing the store shelves wasn't as enthralling as Kasiya thought it would be, and she couldn't find anything she even really wanted to buy. Flash sniffed everything she touched, very curious of what his new trainer was doing. She came upon the TMs section, and flipped through a few of them, humming a slight tune to herself. Flash nuzzled her leg, and she mindlessly patted his head, and pulled a yellow disc out of the mix. "Thunderbolt could be dandy for you," she told him, and he twitched his ears. She took it aside, yawning as she flipped through the TM discs. Nothing else appealed to her at the moment, and she carried it to the counter, digging through her pockets as she did so.

"You're out late," the store clerk said with a smile, as she shoved the TM disc in front of him.

"Yeah, I suppose I am," she said, almost not thinking.

"That comes to $2,500. Need a bag for it?"

"No thank you," Kasiya said, handing over the money and taking her TM. She took the elevator upstairs, and went on top of the roof. There were several vending machines, but the rooftop itself was void of people. Kasiya sighed, and took a seat on one of the benches. Flash, who hadn't left her side, sat next to her, eagerly awating the application of his new move. Kasiya looked at the disc closely, admiring how it reflected the lights of the city. "Are you ready?" she asked.

"Jolt!!" Flash barked eagerly, his hairs standing on end.

"Alright," Kasiya smiled, and pressed the disc gently to his forehead. The Jolteon glowed a faint yellow colour for a second, as he absorbed the knowledge of how to handle more electricity. The glow faded, and the once yellow disc turned a dull, plain grey colour. She put it on the bench beside her, and stood against the railing, looking out over the view of Celadon City at night.

"So what do you think, Flash? Should we go challenge the Celadon Gym tomorrow, or should we train for a few days first?" Kasiya asked, her head resting on her arms as she looked over the city. Flash still sat on the bench, pawing at the now useless TM disc. He didn't respond, only jumped down and came over to her. She sighed, and turned around, her hands in her pockets. She felt something cold and smooth - it was the Soothe Bell she'd taken from Seto a few days ago. "Maybe you should hold it for a while," Kasiya said softly, and tied the ribbon around Flash's neck. The Soothe Bell tinkled gently against his Thunderbolt charm, and he tried to look at them, although to no avail.

"So you are up here," said a voice from the stairs. Kasiya looked up at the source of the sound, and saw a boy, roughly her age but a little taller, at the top of the stairs. He had his arms folded across his chest, and he wore a rather mean grin. His hair was jet black, and his eyes seemed cold.

"Who are you?" Kasiya asked, standing up. "Why are you looking for me?"

"Someone downstairs said Lt. Surge's daughter was up here, so I thought I'd come and see for myself." He took a step forward, and Kasiya felt compelled to step back. "I've come to challenge you to a battle. I'm looking to challenge your father's gym in the next few days, and I figured I'd test my might on you." His grin widened. "That is, if you're not afraid to accept."

"Of course I'm not afraid," Kasiya growled, frowning. "I never turn down a challenge."

"Excellent," the boy smiled, a Pokeball now in his hand. On closer inspection, Kasiya saw that in fact the ball in his hand wasn't a regular Pokeball, it was a Great Ball. "Three Pokemon each. That is, if you even have three."

"Sounds good to me," Kasiya said. "Flash, stand back for a bit, alright?" The Jolteon nodded, and retreated back a few steps and sat down.

"Let's get started then," the boy trainer said, and let his Great Ball fly.

Ryka sighed and looked over the city. It was so full of light, even in the darkness. She got up from the bench and leaned on the railing of the rooftop. Her face reflected in the pond below, eyes full of grim and saddness looked back at her. Aurora and Twilight padded over and looked down too, and as if looking in a mirror, admired themselves. Thunder made his way up onto Ryka's shoulder again, but a rough voice sent him hiding behind her feet.

Ryka immediatly turned to see where this intimidating voice came from, and she saw a shady boy, about her and Kassie's age, with black hair and a black overcoat. Without a word, Ryka returned Twilight and Thunder, and walked back over to Kassie. She noticed another battle had started "You can whoop this guy, no problem," she whispered before taking her seat on the bench yet again.

The ball landed, and with a flash, a Machoke stood before Kasiya, flexing its muscles. It looked ready for battle. Kasiya smiled to herself, and tossed her Pokeball. Out came Fang, in a cascade of sparkles, who circled the air, screeching into the night. Kasiya wasted no time, and ordered the green Golbat to perform a Wing Attack. Fang screeched loudly as he came in for the attack, and struck with his wings, only to have them grabbed by the Machoke and bent backwards. Fang cried out in pain, and struggled to get free of the Fighting type. He'd been the victim of a well-timed Counter.

"Fang!" Kasiya cried, taking a step forward.

The boy trainer only chuckled. "Child's play," he sneered. "Machoke! Use Seismic Toss!"

The Machoke obeyed, and thrust the Golbat to the ground. Fang flailed about for a second or to before fainting completely. Machoke flexed its arms again, and sneered at Kasiya, who stared at her fallen Golbat in astonishment.

PostPosted: Fri Oct 28, 2005 11:40 am

"....Fang!" Kasiya cried, and ran to the fallen Pokemon. The Golbat was out cold, a large bump on his head from where he'd hit the concrete. Kasiya hugged him gently, still unable to believe how quickly he'd been brought down.

"Come on, we haven't got all night," the other trainer said impatiently. His Machoke roared in agreement.

Kasiya grit her teeh. "Insensitive jerk," she said, hoping she was loud enough for him to hear her. The Machoke pounded its fists together, eager for its next challenger. Kasiya recalled Fang into his Pokeball, and held it to her chest for a moment. "You tried your best," she said softly, then turned to Flash. "You're up, Flash! Show me what you can do!"

"Jolt!" the Jolteon barked, and ran out to face the Machoke.

He can't counter electricity, Kasiya thought smugly.

"Machoke! Let's start off with a Karate Chop!" the trainer called.

"Flash! Let's try out your new move! Use Thunderbolt!" Kasiya cried. Flash jumped back at the Machoke's mighty fist came crashing down where he'd been standing. The fur on his body bristled, and static waves ripped through his body. He reared back, but instead of letting loose a blast of electricity, his bristled fur begain to fire at the Machoke - it seemed Flash used Pin Missile instead of Thunderbolt.

"Flash!" Kasiya screamed. "What are you doing? I said Thunderbolt, not Pin Missile!" Flash turned around to look at her, and tilted his head. Machoke shook himself out, and came at Flash again, scooping him up and hurling him to the ground with a mighty Seismic Toss.

Flash rolled along the ground once and jumped to his feet. His spikey fur stood on end, and he barked angrily at the opposing Machoke.

"Thunderbolt!" Kasiya yelled again, and Flash let a jolt of electricity fly. It struck the Machoke, but hardly phased it. Once again Flash had disobeyed her, and used Thundershock instead of Thunderbolt. Machoke shrugged off the jolt, and charged Flash, hitting it with a painful-looking Karate Chop. The stunned Jolteon staggered, and was hit again. Flash collapsed a few feet in front of his trainer, also out cold. Kasiya hung her head, and recalled the defeated Jolteon. She couldn't understand why he wouldn't listen to her commands - and then it hit her. She realized Flash's original trainer would be listed as Eontri, not her, and she'd need Erika's badge in order for the newcomer to obey her. How could I have forgotten something so important? she scolded herself, and reached for her last Pokeball.

Kasiya glanced up at her opponent, who just gave her a smug grin. Kasiya growled to herself, her hand clutching her Pokeball tightly. She threw it, perhaps a little more forcefully than necessary, and her Arcanine errupted from within, growling angrily. Kasiya barely had the word "Flamethrower" out of her mouth when Growly fired a ferocious blast of flames at the Machoke. It staggered backwards two steps, its arms flailing wildly, and it went down to one knee. "No way! That should've taken him out!" Kasiya exclaimed. Growly knelt down in an offensive position, ready for his next attack. The Machoke gave a weak cry, then fell over backwards, defeated.

"Didn't think you'd get past Machoke," the trainer sneered, and recalled his fallen Pokemon. He shook his head at Kasiya, but didn't say anything. He tossed out another Great Ball, and from it came a Dodrio. It's three heads screeched loudly, each looking in a different direction, but looking very tough indeed.

"You shouldn't underestimate people," Kasiya said. "Growly! Use Take Down!"

The massive Arcanine sprang into attack, running full speed at the Dodrio. "You also shouldn't overestimate yourself," the trainer laughed. "Dodrio, let's give that overgrown mutt a taste of your Tri Attack!"

The Dodrio took a step back, and fired a beam from each beak. The three met, entwined, and hit Growly as one, knocking him out of his attack. The Arcanine jumped back to his feet, but suddenly stopped in his tracks, frozen solid.

Even the other trainer seemed suprised at Growly's freezing, but he shrugged it off quickly and grinned. "Well now, seems your Arcanine is frozen solid. Maybe you should just give up now?" he suggested. "I still have one other perfectly healthy Pokemon, and you've got none. What do you say?"

Kasiya looked from Growly to the trainer, and grinned. "I say it's not over yet," she said, returning his sneer. "Growly, use Flame Wheel!" The ice block that surrounded Growly started to steam, and melt away. Before long, flames errupted from Growly's body, completly melting the ice. Growly now stood in a steaming puddle, the blaze surrounding his body burning with intense heat. He dashed forward, and struck the Dodrio hard - very hard, with the flaming tackle, sending the three-headed bird crashing back into its trainer. The two fell to the ground in a heap, Dodrio out like a light.

"Not bad," the boy said, clicking his tongue. "I forgot about Flame Wheel. A minor mistake. This battle will end now."
