Rae: Everybody's already expressed my sentiments on this situation, but Stream's are more in line with mine than anyone else. Remember, a lot of this guild are AMC oldbies, and I believe more than a few of us knew him in the AMC even before you joined Gaia... or at least on this acocunt. I know he's been talking to Luna and myself for probably about two years or so, and I believe Pi and Skizz were familiar with him for some time.

Ugh...I don't think I really talked about it here, but many of the residents of my apartment complex are really sketchy and scary. I've been late to or totally skipped classes (and other outings) before because they like to hang out menacingly in the walkway between my apartment and the one next door. Not only do I just not want to encounter them, but I'm afraid to. The smell of pot is always hanging around them or flowing out of their apartment, they basically look like hard core gang members, and they're always yelling obscene things at each other. Did I mention they often have their "friends" over? "Friends," meaning up to 15 more of their buddies blocking my walkway and all of the sidewalk around our building. The worst is when I have to go to school because I not only have to walk through their congregation, but it's with my bike too. I just waited over 30 minutes for them to disperse so I could go to class, then gave up. Hopefully they'll be gone soon so I can go to my next class...=/
Either I need to start getting up ******** in the morning to avoid them, or...I dunno. I wish I had a back door or something... crying

My lease is up at the end of July so I can't really move until then. Although the good news is I've already found a much better place. Hiro actually used to live in the new complex I'll be moving to so I know it's safe and much more quiet than where I currently live. Seriously though, every day that goes by makes me want to leave here more. I can't wait to get out. sad

So, like, I was in class when my cell phone goes off. I check the text (yeah, I know, bad, but it was a huge lecture hall anyway and the prof spends all of his time mumbling/scribbling incomprehensible gibberish on the chalkboard), and it's a notice saying that I've received four sealeds.
I actually did buy four sealeds at the start of the month, so I figure, "Hey, it must have just bugged and alerted me again, right?" (I also ended up buying 1000 cash, of which ~800 is remaining.)
So, when I get home, the first thing I do is check Gaia. Sure enough, I have a PM about sealeds highlighted. I check my inventory. To my surprise, I have six letters instead of two. (I sold two at the start of the month, which is what I usually do.) Oddly, I still have the same cash I left with this morning - and I bought the cash and the letters in the same transaction, which means if it accidentally doubled, I'd have 1800 cash as well.
Translation: Okay, fess up. Which one of you guys did it? scream
Hila: At least you're out of there soon. July's not that far away, right? But...yeah, I'd suggest leaving early and trying to return as early as possible.
Do they threaten you? Or do they just mind their own business, really?

They don't threaten me, but they sometimes make smalltalk which I try to politely respond to. Or sometimes it's lewd comments after I get far enough away. It really depends on the group that's there at the time. There's this one guy in particular that throws me threatening glances and stares at me until I've left/gone inside my place. He's such a creeper. gonk All of this shouldn't be enough to keep me inside, but I occasionally catch bits of conversations that sound like code for drug dealing, gang activity, etc. and it makes me feel sick and worried. Creeper guy borrowed one of the complex kid's sidewalk chalk last week and wrote "WELCOME TO MY GHETTO" in front of our walkway. Everything is just so ridiculously uncomfortable. I'd love to call the cops sometime when I'm sure they're getting high or whatever, but I'm afraid to do so because they'd know it was someone who lives close to them and I'm afraid of retaliation. sad

I've lived illegally and then left my apartment while I was still on the lease. Hila: Maybe it's time to invest in one of those keychain pepper sprayers. Just stick it on your keys and unsnap it with your finger on the trigger as you walk past. At the very least, it will give you some peace of mind that you can spray and run like hell for help should the need arise.
I'd probably look into community centers that give free/low cost self-defense courses. (I took self-defense for a gym credit in college. I think it was based on a type of kenpo. It was fun and useful.)

Hila: *snugs* SNUGS FOR HILA! I hope it does get better for you though, I'd second what Nabs suggests about pepper spray and self defense classes, give yourself a better peach of mind.
