And he's panicking over OMG we have to get the tickets at 7:30 and I have to return the rental car and LET'S GO TO DISNEY NEXT YEAR INSTEAD. I just said.. umm.. no. gonk

I'm not sure where the Sheraton is. I am sure it near Disney and all that crap.

Do any of you have any idea what could be causing this? - my laptop won't automatically load new info on any pages it's viewed before. So, if I visit page 2 of a thread, every time afterwards that I view page 2, it will show it exactly as it was the last time I looked at it. I have to refresh to get the current info.
Basically there are a few pages that keep loading with me logged in as wingedbunnie and she hasn't used this laptop for like half a year. gonk Also, it makes replying to things pretty tedious.

Uh yeah, so, I was just turned down for even the chance to get into a class because it's apparently an honors course (which wasn't written in the course description for the English offerings brochure). What pisses me off though is that when he wrote me off and said that he thinks it'll fill with honors students, it just sounded condescending and I really felt like he was implying I'm stupid, which I haven't felt from someone at school since my guidance counselor outright told me that I wasn't smart enough to take pre-calc (which I did great in, by the way, after I went and overrided his input with permission from the math department).
It just feels sucky, because I would be an honors student if I hadn't had to take calculus or geology because of my earlier major, and I could get pretty damn good recommendations from two of the better writing teachers in the English department.
I'm smart, and I'm a good writer, and I shouldn't have to be spoken down to by him.

RaeRae Rave iBarty So like...there were a lot of fat Sailor Scouts. There was one that fit who they were supposed to be, and there was one other that kind of did..otherwise, wow. Lotsa fat. Not that I care, because I wanted the pictures anyway of Sailor Scouts being a fan and all.. But it just made me wonder if the majority of the girl fans for it are overweight. ... confused You can't really generalize weight in comparison with fandom. And as someone who is both overweight, and a huge Sailor Moon fan, I keep going back and forth on whether or not this might offend me a little... sweatdrop I'm overweight and like Sailor Moon too...so it's not like what I said I said to offend. I suppose it could. *shrug* I don't know. I'm not going to say sorry for something that made me wonder about it. I suppose the way I said it could have been worded differently though, but what's done is done.
I'll admit, I can be a mean person at times (I've laughed at a mentally ill kid before, but at the time I didn't realize it and it was mostly because of what my co-worker was doing at the time) so even if I don't mean to offend it'll come off as rude.
Not really sure what else to say about it..though I expect you'll be mad now. Which is fine, it's justified.

I'm smart, and I'm a good writer, and I shouldn't have to be spoken down to by him. That sucks. Everyone has their own opinions on who is good and who isn't unfortunately, but I don't see why you should have been turned down. I mean, even if you weren't the greatest in his eyes, you should have been given a chance because a class like that could make you even better of a writer than you are now.
Either way, you can't let what he said get you down. He's an a**, and me too..seems like it anyway, and...I was going to go somewhere with this, but whichever way it was going to go left my mind. sweatdrop

Colleges can be pretty bitchy/uptight about their honors programs... it's sad when the professors even feel this way. But then again, maybe they have an obligation to allow first the honors students in first. Maybe you could ask him if you could nab a spot if there are empty chairs? I've had to do that with psych courses here which are reserved solely for upper division psych majors.
